  • 1. I'm pretty new. I'm a mama to 2 girls (6 & 3). I had a 14 wk loss in Feb 2912 btw my girls and a 9 wk loss July 2015. Both missed m/c. We ttc 7 months before getting a BFP this time.

    2. 7 wks today.

    3. I'm SO sick. Par for the course for me with all 5 pg, but so hard when I'm in the thick of it. I'm struggling to do all the stuff I need to do at home and work. It will all be worth it if the pg is healthy though.

also, I'm nervous for my u/s Thursday.

    4. Being able to hear the hb with a Doppler so I can check it at home.

    5. None.

    6. The higher level sociology classes in college, the best was Collective Behavior.

    DD1 born 5/24/10.

    Missed M/C at 14 wks Feb 2012.

    DD2 born 5/14/13.

    Missed M/C at 9 wks July 2015.

    Expecting someone new 4/17/17.

@MWoodside FX your MS means you're growing a sticky baby! I hope your US appointment goes well!

@waterfall213 Not much longer now! I'm sorry about the GD. That really sucks.

    1. Introduce yourself (if you're new):
Not really new, but haven't posted here in a while. Had two early losses in November 2015 and March 2016 where baby stops growing beyond 6ish weeks. No living children yet.

    2. How far along are you? EDD?
    11w1d, due 3/19/17

    3. Rants/Raves/Randoms:
I've been having horrible neck strain/pain despite sleeping correctly. Every day now I wake up with a headache. It sometimes goes away with heat and Tylenol, but I hate taking medication.

    4. Next milestone you are looking forward to:
NT scan Thursday. I've never got to this point before. Luckily I've been finding the HB with my home Doppler, so I've had some reassurance while waiting!

    5. Questions:
    None now.

    6. GTKY: What was your favorite subject in school? I loved math.
  • 1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): Been lurking and occasionaly posting, but this is my first weekly checkin... so, I'm pregnant after a late first tri loss earlier this year.

    2. How far along are you? EDD?
    11w3d - March 17 - St. Patrick's Day!

    3. Rants/Raves/Randoms:
Serious question.... Does the PGAL brain ever truly alleviate?

    4. Next milestone you are looking forward to:
Finally getting out of 1st Tri. And my 12 week scan next week.

    5. Questions:
Asked this someplace else, but would really appreciate y'all's feedback as well... I have my 12 week appointment upcoming and I'm not sure if I should request an NT scan. I've been told by my OB that they usually only order this scan for women of AMA (35+), and that unless I am at risk for a down's pregnancy that my insurance will likely not cover this NT scan. The OB is happy to order me the scan if I request it though.... Would love to hear y'all's feedback here...

    6. GTKY: What was your favorite subject in school?
Math because I was the only girl in my class that excelled at it. That's probably why I ended up being a math teacher.
  • @Wishilivedinflorida I'm excited for you being able to pick up the HB on the home doppler! That must be such a relief for the reassurance!
@MWoodside Congrats on the BFP! Thanks for sharing your journey!
  • @danibanani16, with my first rainbow my fears didn't go away until baby was in arms. However, a home Doppler and then feeling movement daily helped keep it at bay somewhat. Re: the NT scan, I had one for DD2 and it was covered. I was 32 when I had it. I got no pushback from my insurance carrier.

    DD1 born 5/24/10.

    Missed M/C at 14 wks Feb 2012.

    DD2 born 5/14/13.

    Missed M/C at 9 wks July 2015.

    Expecting someone new 4/17/17.
  • @DaniBanani16 I'm almost 32 weeks and I still have moments of panic. I don't think PGAL brain ever completely goes away, but like PP said a home Doppler and feeling daily movement have really helped.

I had the NT scan with my loss pregnancy. I was 32 and insurance covered it. It was offered this time but I declined it because the results didn't matter to us.

  • 1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): I'm 39, married and we have a funny, sweet and very mischievous little girl who is 2.5.

    2. How far along are you? EDD? 9w5d 3/30/17

    3. Rants/Raves/Randoms: I'm so tried of being sick and tired. As a random, I live in FL and I absolutely hate it. We plan on getting out of here in two years and I can't wait. The bugs, the snakes, the heat, the dampness. Just get me out of here.

    4. Next milestone you are looking forward to: This Friday I go for the cell free DNA test, then two weeks after that we'll review the results with my OBGYN and also do a NT scan.  Really looking toward to that obviously.

    5. Questions: nope

    6. GTKY: What was your favorite subject in school? I seriously hated school and dropped out. That being said, my favorite class was art and art history.
  • @danibanani16 I'm no help with the NT scan, I was always over 35 and so my insurance covered it. I'd rather get the cell free DNA/Harmony/Panorama since it test for more issues and is more accurate than the NT scan alone. Which I'm sure you know.
  • @MWoodside I'm right behind you; seven weeks Thursday. Good luck at your ultrasound!

    2. How far along are you? EDD? 6w5d; April 20th or so.

    3. Rants/Raves/Randoms: A girl at work I've been talking to confided that she thinks she's pregnant. I'm happy for her but all I can think with my PGAL brain is, "if either of us loses our baby we'll have to see the other one walking around as far along as we should have been." Why can't I think more optimistically?

    4. Next milestone you are looking forward to: ultrasound tomorrow to see how things are going. So nervous. After that: 9 weeks because my angel baby stopped growing at 8.5-9.

    5. Questions: I guess none.

    6. GTKY: What was your favorite subject in school? English or French. But I later majored in philosophy. :)
  • 1. Introduce yourself (if you're new):

Not new but we have lots of new faces. DH and I have been married 7 years and  I had two MMC 6 months to the day of each other in 2015. I had a small uterine septum removed last December.

    2. How far along are you? EDD?

    21 weeks! January 9

    3. Rants/Raves/Randoms:

raves - feeling a good amount of baby kicks now :)

    4. Next milestone you are looking forward to: viability in 3 weeks!

    5. Questions:

    6. GTKY: What was your favorite subject in school?

  • 1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): Hi, I'm new to this board.  I have one son who will be 4 next month; and I recently gave birth to my daughter - we had carried her to term after receiving a fatal diagnosis at our anatomy scan.  She had CDH, along with heart issues.  She lived for an hour, and I miss her every day. <3

    2. How far along are you? EDD?
I am currently 7w4d; and I'm due on April 14.

    3. Rants/Raves/Randoms:
Rant..I wish my husband would show that he is acknowledging that I'm pregnant, and come with me to my appointment (he will be traveling for work).

    4. Next milestone you are looking forward to:
I have my first ultrasound/perinatal consult next Tuesday..a bit scared.

    5. Questions:
How do you all deal with the anxiety?

    6. GTKY: What was your favorite subject in school?
    Marketing
    DS1 - 9/18/12
    DD1 - 3/23/16 - Survived for 1 Hour; Forever my Angel
    Baby #3 - EDD: 4/14/2017

  • @Lady_1981 I'm sorry for your loss. Our second daughter was stillborn at 31 weeks. Honestly the anxiety never completely goes away. For me it helped to look ahead to small goals- first ultrasound, hearing heartbeat with Doppler, anatomy scan, etc. Having a home Doppler really eased my mind until I started feeling daily movement. But I still feel like I'll be holding my breath until I'm holding my baby.

  • 1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): Not new, but I'm pregnant for the 6th time (which seems CRAZY) with 2 living children - most recent loss was 4 months ago at 21 weeks.

    2. How far along are you? EDD?
    9w 2d // April 2

    3. Rants/Raves/Randoms:
I saw an RE last week and an MFM this week to review the autopsy and placenta pathology from my 21 week loss in April. They both recommended just baby aspirin and not Lovenox. MFM told me they usually only see my situation with people who have serious health problems. I have none. I'm either a magnet for bad luck (60% loss rate!) or have something wrong with me. I hate that there are no clear answers. There were no clear answers after my two first trimester miscarriages, either. But 3 losses SEEMS like there should be a connection, right? Sigh. I have another specialist (2nd MFM opinion) scheduled for October - so I'll look forward to even MORE medical opinions to sift through.

    4. Next milestone you are looking forward to:
Midwife appt (and hoping there's still a heartbeat!) next Tuesday and my NT scan in 3 weeks. So many things can go wrong with pregnancy - so every little step feels like one less thing that can go wrong!

    5. Questions:

    6. GTKY: What was your favorite subject in school?
Yearbook! Now I'm a web designer, and I got my graphic design love back then.

    A

    2010: son born 9/1

    2013: 2 miscarriages + d&cs, both at 10 weeks: April & July

    2014: son #2 born 6/29

2016: Baby girl stillborn at 21w6d 4/29 and baby boy stillborn at 20w 3d 11/16

  • 1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): Not new, but currently pregnant for the 3rd time - we have a 4y.o. son and lost our DD at 37 weeks in Dec 2012

    2. How far along are you? EDD?
    36 weeks today. EDD 09/28/16

    3. Rants/Raves/Randoms:
I got my induction date today - next week Sept 7 - very excited but also extremely nervous coming up to delivery in the same week as our loss

    4. Next milestone you are looking forward to:
    A healthy delivery

    5. Questions:
For those that have met and passed their loss dates - what did you do to cope with the PGAL brain leading up to/on the date?

    6. GTKY: What was your favorite subject in school?
English, I just liked having an excuse to read

@DaniBanani16 I don't think PGAL brain ever truly goes away, but the farther along I've gotten and had more and more positive ultrasounds/movement/etc it does get a bit easy.  Highly recommend the PGAL mantras thread, it really does help to read it on a bad day!

  • @leighanne82 I haven't passed the loss anniversary yet, it's next month. But my daughter was stillborn at 31 weeks and I passed that last week. I was so nervous to go to bed that night. I just kept reminding myself that this was a different pregnancy and a different baby. I'll be thinking of you next week!
