What do you feed LO?

DS is almost 1 but still has a milk allergy. I need some good ideas for dairy free snacks and meals!

Re: What do you feed LO?

  • In the morning we do fruit (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, bananas, peaches, etc), and yogurt. Or toast with either peanut butter or avocado on it. Lunch time is usually veggies (leftover from dinner the night before), and cheese, meat, and/or bread/pasta. Or a peanut butter & jelly. Then she eats whatever we eat for dinner. Tonight it's chicken n veggies. Snacks include animal crackers, arrowroot cookies, fruit, graham crackers, etc. Its such a pain to cook when someone has an allergy (my middle kid is allergic to nuts). Good luck!

  • We're dairy free by choice. Breakfast usually avocado and large tomato slices with some kind of spread on them--artichoke or olive or something. Lunch some shredded meat and a soft diced veggie. Dinner same but I try to change the protein and veggie. We don't do snacks usually but occasionally a fresh fruit mostly berries or freeze dried fruit snacks.

  • We are dairy free due to allergies as well. We do a lot of fresh fruit and veggies. Coconut yogurt, I even make coconut yogurt freezer bites. I make muffins, pancakes, etc using coconut milk. Hard boiled eggs, homemade cereal bars, protein bites (using oatmeal, almond butter, flaxseed).
  • My LO has a milk allergy also so we usually have lots of fresh fruits and veggies, tofu, stir fry, pita bread, hummus, chicken, beans, eggs, pb and banana sandwiches. Just whatever we eat she eats minus the dairy parts. Although she does love cheese and will steal it from you so we have to watch her. She gets horrible gas and bms, poor baby doesn't realize she can't have the cheese! I'm (mostly) dairy free by choice, never liked the way it settled in my stomach but I love cheese so I can't give that up. There are lots of dairy free recipes out there that are pretty good.
  • Thanks everyone!
