I hope you're able to find peace with this diagnosis. There are some extraordinary support groups, both online and in person, for Down families. When you're ready, I encourage you to find one that's a good fit for you. And, of course, we're here for you in whatever capacity you need us.
I am sorry. I hope he is otherwise healthy and that you are abe to find the support and information you need through support groups online, in person and here.(as PP have mentioned)
How are you and your husband handling the news @timelesslove? A friend of mines daughter was born with Down syndrome and she found really amazing support groups. I could ask her more specifics of you'd like? Hugs! Thinking of you and your little guy!
@timelesslove I am thinking of you and your family. I used to babysit a little boy with Downs, he was one of the sweetest kids I ever babysat. He also got along great with his twin brother who did not have developmental issues.I hope you all are able to find local support and lean on us as needed.
My thoughts and prayers to you @timelesslove . I hope that his symptoms are very minimal. My cousin has Downs and his major thing is that he doesn't speak much. He's 15 yrs old now and is the most loving one out of all of us cousins. When he was born, my aunt thought she was being punished by God for doing something. But now she says that he's God's gift to the whole family which is so true!!
Im sorry to hear this & hope that its something that you & your family can come to terms with. There are amazing support groups out there & knowing families with children with down syndrome you are being blessed with a child who will bring so much love and joy to everyone they meet.
They are pretty sure he has a bad heart defect and will require surgery immediately after delivery if we decide to continue the pregnancy. His belly is measuring a little bit bigger then it should, but we are unsure if it is because he has something going on there.
Hugs to you. I hope that you and your DH find peace and you come to terms with the news. I hope that you baby doesn't have any other complications. We're here for you regardless of your decision.
