Re: *** Sunday Ticker Change 8/28 ***

  • How far along are you?  24 weeks!  milestone baby, 50/50 viability and only upwards from here.

How big is baby?  cantaloupe. did the bump change it's fruit/veggies?  I could have sworn 24 weeks was an ear of corn. my belly sure looks like a cantaloupe though, so i'll take it!

Symptoms/changes?  mentioned in the symptoms thread but just worsening of the same, acid reflux, debilitating back pain, and a recent shift in bedroom activity which is probably making the back pain worse.

What's happening this week?  no appointments. finally going to post our announcement on FB now that all family and close friends know, along with a handful of work colleagues. although one of my coworkers who knows is marveled at how much he can't tell, I feel like it's quite obvious!

RRQ?  I ordered a swivel seat cushion for my car so I don't have to widen my pelvis to get in and out, so now I feel like an old lady.  seriously considering paying $35 for a snoozle sheet too.  sitting on ice is now a daily event.

a couple weeks ago DH said "you know, I don't remember you being this big until like 8 months last time".  I gave him the death stare for that one

but then he makes up for it by telling me to get off my feet and rest my back, that "he'll take care of everything" and I just love him so much.

    How big is baby? Cantaloupe

    Symptoms/changes? Still the same

What's happening this week? Not too much, busy week at work, so resting up for that

RRQ? Back pain seems to be better, DH bought a body pillow and heating pad last week, both of which have been helping.

DH said one night he didn't understand why I was being so sensitive....he also seems to want to talk when I'm trying to sleep.
He tells me all the time how excited he is how compliments me alot, because some days I just don't feel good about myself.

How far along are you? 24 weeks. Yay for viability day!

How big is baby? Cantaloupe or an Atlantic puffin (which I must say is very cute)

Symptoms/changes? Symptoms aren't that bad for me right now. Pretty manageable. I'm currently basking in  joy over the change to my diet so I'm perhaps the wrong person to ask. I do have symptoms but I listed them all in the symptoms thread yesterday.

What's happening this week? Blessedly nothing. Gonna do that homemaking life and hopefully finish a book or two.

RRQ? Rant: I'm getting pretty tired of being told what to do. I'm a rather contrary person anyway, but the never ending pregnancy/life advice has got me like:

My husband had been amazingly supportive through this whole thing. The silliest thing he asked me, which I'm still giggling about was "So if you make a boy on the first try does that mean anything?"  :D

How big is baby? Cantaloupe. Seriously questioning the Bump's varying produce sizes each week.

Symptoms/changes?  Lower back pain, developing more heartburn. Also, my feet hurt when I get up in the morning, very strange.

What's happening this week? Doctor's appointment tomorrow, woohoo!! Looking forward to seeing baby boy on the U/S.

RRQ?  Pushy and/or overbearing family members. 'Nuff said.

Stupid thing: "You know, you've been really emotional the last couple of days."

Supportive: "Sit down and put your feet up. What can I bring you?"

    How big is baby?  Cantaloupe

Symptoms/changes?  Lots more kicking from the Bean.  And I've been noticing a lot of dry skin, especially on my face.

What's happening this week?  Glucose tolerance test (and 24 week appointment) tomorrow.  Not really looking forward to it, especially since I have family history for diabetes, but as far as I know no one in my family has developed GD.  Plus, it's been a little while since I've had to have blood drawn and I was kind of enjoying that!  Getting more used to the process but still definitely not my favorite thing to do.

R/R/Q?  Lately I feel like I'm not able to keep up with either work or home things, and I'm getting really frustrated by that.  Unfortunately, my boss decided to take several weeks off in September and October before I go on maternity leave, so it's only going to get worse before it gets better...

    How big is baby?
    As big as a grapefruit
    Symptoms/changes?
My nausea/vomiting tapered off alittle between weeks 17 and 22 but it seems to coming back alittle more this past week :/
    What's happening this week?
I have my son's special education class orientation tomorrow. I'm excited for him to see his teacher and classmates again after 2 1/2 months and I have my nephew's :) birthday party this coming Saturday :)
    RRQ?
My fil has been staying at our house since the end of May and we were under the impression that he'd be moving out around the end on July, when his wife moved here and they got a place together. Well, now we've heard that she probably not moving out here until the end of October, so he'll probably be here until then. I'm just ready to have my house back...

You know, no one has really said anything stupid to me this pregnancy so far (crossing my fingers).
My husband says nice, supportive things to me all the time....tells me how pretty I look all the time, how I'm doing a great job at home with the house and two boys, etc. He really has been great and super supportive and sympathetic to me feeling crappy, so I have no complaints there :)
