The one thing I absolutely hate doing with my kids is grocery shopping. I feel like I'm always rushed and forgetting half of my list. The cart is full of kids and so there isn't very much room for groceries. The result is that my husband usually ends up taking our oldest on Sunday or Saturday mornings. He doesn't mind but I feel like this is something I should be doing since I'm home and it would free up one of our mornings for something else. I've also been thinking that if I'm worried about taking 2 littles then taking 3 when LO comes is basically out of the question.
Well a few of the stores in our area have started the drive up service. I seriously recommend it to any one who has one in their area. It is absolutely amazing, I don't forget anything because I can spend time going over my order in the evenings when the kids are asleep. I also am able to put things in my cart during the week as I notice we are getting low or use the last one or something. It even saves our orders so the things we get frequently are really easy to just drop in. j
I left the restaurant with both boys after lunch with my mom at 2:15 and by 2:30 I had all of my groceries for the week in my trunk and was already on my way home. I was literally able to drive there, load up and take off within 15 minutes. I can't believe how easy this makes such a frustrating task. Our stores have a flat fee of only about 5 dollars which is well worth it to avoid the hassle for me personally. If anyone is on the fence, try it out! The last two weekends we have spent the time usually spent grocery shopping to take family trips to the little fruit market by our house instead and it has been so wonderful
Re: Grocery Shopping Success
@dmbfan46835 I've passed my halfway point! I can hardly believe it but I'm getting big now. I had my first person feel comfortable enough to ask when I was due this week. Boy number 3 for us
Genius us idea of the grocery shopping. Which chain offers this service?
Hy-Vee also does grocery pick-up and delivery here in MN in some locations. For pick-up, you order online and then drive up to side of the store and they load your groceries for you (no extra cost). I haven't tried this personally, but my friend has and loves it! They don't deliver to my area yet, but if they start, I will give it a shot to compare!
I've ordered produce from Coborns and it's actually been the best produce I've ever gotten (much better than the produce section of my local grocery store). It also stays fresh longer. I also love that I can choose green or yellow bananas!
Also it cuts out the "Mummy, can I have......" as we go up and down the aisles. Haha.
Gets delivered at a time that suits me too.
Perfect.
BTW, if you order from Walmart they have a coupon code "REALEASY" for $10 off your first grocery pick-up. Minimum of $30 order.
