Did you have an appointment this week? yup Tuesday bc I had shortness of breath
How did it go? nerve racking as always before I get to see them. I get scared so much. I wish I have enough money for my own ultrasound machine =P

GTNY: if you could choose to live anywhere in the world, where would you live? somewhere that snows.. I think I like the north a lot. Seattle maybe.

How did it go? Good! Usual appointment stuff, she was able to find T2's hr with the doppler, ever so barely.
Raves & rants: Doc gave me pamphlets on Progenity, and said the most to pay would be $200. So I called today and the dude I spoke to was completely unhelpful and when I asked just said it would cost $600. I guess that's not happening.

GTNY: if you could choose to live anywhere in the world, where would you live? That's a loaded question. I would love Colorado, but hate the winters. California but then there's earthquakes. Canada seems cool but again... winters.

Did you have an appointment this week? Yes this past Monday- had my NT scan.
How did it go? It went great!
Raves & rants: I hate having to have a full bladder for the ultrasound- we had a meeting with a genetic counselor 30 minutes before the ultrasound and by the time I had it I literally felt like I was going to pee my pants. Thankfully the u/s tech could feel my pain and let me go to the bathroom and pee some out. I think during the whole appointment I peed 3 times (she finally wanted me to empty my bladder completely for the TV ultrasound)

GTNY: if you could choose to live anywhere in the world, where would you live? Somewhere it isn't too hot- I don't really like winter that much but I would still like it to snow sometimes. I couldn't be somewhere where the seasons never changed.
How did it go? Good, Fast. Technician said we had an easy baby

GTNY: if you could choose to live anywhere in the world, where would you live? I live in LA and really do love LA but I absolutely love New Orleans every time I visit. Not sure I would live there but that's my second choice. My dad lives in San Jose in Northern Cali. I could see myself living there also.
How did it go? Good. My doctor got called to the hospital so I had a nurse and it went super fast. Just a quick weight check, blood pressure check, urine sample, and Doppler for the heart rate.
Raves & rants: I got to hear the little heart beat! Strong and steady at 150.
Did you get an ultrasound? TV or Ab? No, it sounds like my next isn't until the anatomy scan which will be around 20 weeks based on our current schedule.
How far along are you? 12 weeks and 6 days

When is your next appointment? 4 weeks, not scheduled yet due to a computer issue.
GTNY: if you could choose to live anywhere in the world, where would you live? Having grown up away from most of my family, honestly I just want to stay where we are now. But if we ever got a vacation home, probably Arizona. My husband and I went last Fall and we loved it there!

Did you have an appointment this week? Yeppers. My first actual prenatal appt.
How did it go? Meh. The midwife was super reassuring, but the truth is we are just in wait and see mode. She tried to find the hb with the doppler, but at 10.5 weeks its really just too early. I was hoping to get a little bit of a chance to relax after hearing that hb again. I'll get another sonogram on Sep 2 so I'll know for sure then if baby is still okay or if the previous measurements were right in indicating a problem.
So hard to relax.

Did you have an appointment this week? Yes - today 08/25
How did it go? Great! Heard baby's hb via doppler - low 150s high 140s. Because I'm high risk I'm monitored really closely by my regular OB and a high risk doctor. It's always reassuring to hear the baby's heartbeat
I've lost 3lbs since last visit 1.5 weeks ago. The doctor told me to stop taking my prenatals because I can't keep them down and give them a go again in about three weeks. That's not all I'm not keeping down but the prenatals are a pretty consistent ick factor in my day.
Raves & rants: We see the baby next week again at our high risk doctor - pretty excited to see the baby move around and possibly get another video again. Also since this is baby #2 I am feeling this one move around pretty consistently every day. I am already head over heels!

GTNY: if you could choose to live anywhere in the world, where would you live? Someplace quiet and peaceful with a beach. I'd also take someplace nice and quiet in the woods. Ok - I guess I really just want someplace quiet. Our neighbors (even though we have a good distance between us) leave their three children out all day and they scream. Non freaking stop. Being a night shift worker it makes sleeping hard since they like to scream right near our bedroom window. They fight/scream/shriek etc. Thank goodness school starts back next week!
Baby #2 - March 2017
Did you have an appointment this week? Yes finally today! Just nurse's appt and blood work.
How did it go? Fine. Didn't pass out getting blood drawn so that was a plus. I did that with my first and every pregnancy since I'm always anxious about the 1st tri blood draw. Usually I have no issue with needles, but pregnancy hormones and nausea don't help with getting blood drawn.
Raves & rants: It was nice to be going back to the same place I had #3. The staff remembered me and they are great. Love that place!
Did you get an ultrasound? TV or Ab? No ultrasound today. Will have one at my next appt.
How far along are you? 9w5d
Multi or rocking the singleton? Don't know. Hopefully only one.
When is your next appointment? September 6th with my midwife and I will get an ultrasound as well.

How did it go? Good, just a 3 month check up.
Raves & rants: We were originally supposed to start our vacation that day but DD's kindergarten orientation was scheduled that day so we ended up hanging back (no flight plans or anything, just going to the shore). DH had taken off so he and DD both got to be there with me which has never happened. I'm usually at these things by myself and I was really happy to have them there.
Did you get an ultrasound? TV or Ab? Doc couldn't find the heartbeat, only heard it for like one second before the LO ducked under my pubic bone and all we heard was the placenta (so she said). But that meant that she pulled out the us machine and we got to see the little froggy kicking around in there! That was a bonus!

When is your next appointment? End of September for the 4 month check up
GTNY: if you could choose to live anywhere in the world, where would you live? I was born and raised in the Philly/Lehigh Valley area and I love it here, but I think when we retire we are moving down south somewhere, like Texas or North Carolina. The slower pace seems to call to us.

GTNY: if you could choose to live anywhere in the world, where would you live?somewhere north, I like where I live most of the time, but I hate the heat. I want real seasons. we go from 115 from april til september then 80s til almost november then almost skip fall a hit or miss winter then it's summer again.

How did it go? My sitter bailed on me so instead of cancelling I brought my 1 yr old. Bad idea ..dr was 40 min behind and office staff was rude BC my daughter was crying
Raves & rants: I was frustrated BC I asked staff if they were behind. I work at this hospital,i get it and would happily reschedule or come back . I was assured they were on time .

How did it go? typical....blood work appointment, finally!
Raves & rants: First blood work this pregnancy. Was supposed to get the blood work last week, but my insurance held it up. I love having insurance, but I hate the insurance I'm on. oh and my drs. (I've dealt with two at this office) are AWESOME. They are super nice, but the dr hands were FREEZING!

GTNY: if you could choose to live anywhere in the world, where would you live? well, I currently really want to move halfway between my parents and my in-laws. But, if money weren't an issue, I would probably move to Hawaii or something outrageous. Although, I do love to enjoy all 4 seasons.

Raves & rants: I was just expecting to see a blob like last time but he or she looked like an actual baby this time, it was amazing!
Did you get an ultrasound? TV or Ab? Ab, which surprised me. I just assumed you couldn't see anything on an abdominal U/S until you were showing (first time mom here if you couldn't already tell

When is your next appointment? Sept. 6 for my regular monthly check up & results from the NT scan & NIPT screen. We will also get to find out the sex!
GTNY: if you could choose to live anywhere in the world, where would you live? Honestly I don't think I'd ever leave NJ. We have four seasons and both the beach and the country are just a short drive away.
Did you have an appointment this week? yes...this past Wednesday with the perinatologist
How did it go? well! Saw baby...talked about my chronic hypertension and our plan to try and prevent preeclampsia from happening
Raves & rants: I liked this doctor as well...I'll be seeing him and my OB until delivery

GTNY: if you could choose to live anywhere in the world, where would you live? I like where I live as we're pretty close to both the mountains and the beach and we have 4 seasons as well
