@leslieknope@kirstinh88 Thanks for the kind words - I'm stepping back but not officially out yet. I won't lie and say I haven't been tempted to quit; there's a couple people that still give me hope here.
If after the dust settles, everybody keeps on the side of organization and stops jumping all over when somebody says, "Hey, for future reference, this post should probably go in X thread" (ESPECIALLY when it's somebody who has minimal contributions versus somebody who is extremely involved in this and/or other boards), then I'll be sticking around.
If the side of sparkles and sunshine and give limitless support to post&ghosters ends up prevailing, I'm out. If I wanted that type of atmosphere, I'd use Reddit or Glow for my BMB. I intentionally picked The Bump while I was TTC because it actually encourages community by encouraging everybody to give support before asking for it, and was hoping the BMBs would reflect that.
Hey everybody! We previously talked about doing a monthly signature challenge/theme. Now that the board is pretty filled out, let's do one for September!
Respond in this thread with any signature theme suggestions you have for the month of September, and I'll post the poll to find the most popular on Monday. If we don't get any suggestions, I'll just make some up buuut I'd rather hear from y'all. That should give us enough time to have a theme picked by 9/1
Ok here is one, well b!tch fest if I may....I couldn't find the actual b!tch fest post LOL
I just texted a long time friend of mine from Europe. I told her that I was expecting. She is super excited and all but what is annoying about her is that she keeps inviting herself to my house! A few years back (before DD was born) we had just reconnected after not hearing from each other in a few years. So I had just said "well should you ever be here in the US close to me, let me know, I'd love to see you". She said "I'll take you up on that" Very shortly after she had booked tickets for her and her BF (whom I had never met) and they stayed with us for 2 weeks! Over New Year and then ended up not wanting to go to a party we were planning on going to so we just kinda sat there.
Anyway, today she tells me: "Oh we are going to be in the US for 4 weeks next year! Then says, I was trying to see if we could stop over to your place for a couple of days before continuing to the final destination but it doesn't look like we can swing it." So I said, "oh well it sure would be nice to see you, but that may not work for me anyway, especially if my dad comes to visit plus we'll have the new baby". She just said, "well we haven't booked yet, so we don't know the exact dates.
And it really sounded more like her indicating that maybe my dad won't be there so that wouldn't be an issue... Um, what makes you think that I can just accommodate you at any time. Especially with a new baby!
I don't know if I'm being an ahole but that just totally rubbed me the wrong way.
I'm already ready for Christmas because I have scheduled a princess lunch at Epcot on Christmas Day for DD, fiancé, myself, my parents, and my brother. I can't wait to surprise her!
Re: Weekly Randoms & Spam 8/22
