16 week appointment tomorrow morning! I'm less anxious that I was for my 12 week, but a little bit nervous about weight gain lecture. We'll see how it goes!
I have my 14 week appointment Wednesday. Hoping to hear the HB again! I'm a little less nervous than I was at 10 weeks but still kind of nervous. DH couldn't wait any longer so we told everyone at work. I wanted to wait until this appointment so I'm really hoping everything is still good!
Me: 33 | DH: 34 Married: October, 19, 2015 EDD 2/22/17 DS1 born on 3/2/17 EDD 3/8/20 DS2 born on 3/10/20 EDD 11/24/23 (Formerly Marriedhamstermom Feb ‘17)
A late 16 week appt (I will actually be 17 weeks) tomorrow.
My a/s is already scheduled for Sept 14th though. I'm a 2/1 due date so probably one of the earlier ones. Although I'll be exactly 20 weeks and I thought I got mine at 18 or 19 last time.
I went to my 16 week appointment this morning. Took my kids, we got to hear the heartbeat. We scheduled my big ultrasound for September 20th. I only had the small one at 8 weeks so I'm excited to see the baby.
Question* today the nurse said my blood pressure was dropping a little low. My first visit it was 115/76 which is normal for me, but today it was 98/60. My Dr didn't say anything about it, so im not worried but since the nurse did I was wondering why. I didn't really find anything online other than lower blood pressure during pregnancy is normal. Has anyone had low blood pressure or concerns because of it?
@kswiger06 the midwife said mine was really low and I was concerned too but she explained they only worry about high blood pressure. She said I might feel a little faint but that was it.
I have my 16 week check-in on Thursday. I'm a little nervous about the weight gain lecture. My grandpa passed away on Friday so we've been away all weekend, eating garbage food, and running around. My ankles/feet are SO swollen and I'm definitely retaining fluid, despite drinking tons of water! I'm hoping it levels out a little tomorrow so I'm not a massive cow when I go in to the doctor on Thursday or she may fall over. I'm slightly nervous though that she will say I may have/need to be tested for preeclampsia. It's only the swelling that has me concerned and I know it could fully just be the stress, lack of sleep, and out of routine eating patterns, but its a little unnerving when your feet look like you broke them and you're only 16 weeks, not 9 months!
Add me to the low bp crew, 90/60. My doctor wasn't worried unless I keep fainting, and recommended lots of fluids and some extra salt in my diet. I've had to sit down hard a couple times the last couple of weeks but apart from one scare where I fainted in the kitchen (before I asked the doctor about it), things have been fine.
@kswiger, my blood pressure is always low too when I go, but they never say anything and don't seem concerned. I'm glad at least that's fine because my cholesterol is too high.
I'm glad that the the blood pressure thing is normal. I had passed out with my son, and thought it was sugar related, now I'm wondering if it could have been blood pressure instead. Hopefully we can all manage to avoid fainting spells.
@concreteangell lol that's funny! My appointment is at 9. But my regular Dr appointment is the same day at 11 lol
I have my 16 week visit on Friday. I'm planning to bring DD to hear the heartbeat and hopefully see the baby (they have a handheld ultrasound machine). Hoping my weight is still on track this visit because my clothes are getting tight
I have always had low blood pressure, half my family is low and half is high. I fainted in the past but thankfully not with this pregnancy.
I will not have a 16 week appointment. I went last week for my last visit at the fertility clinic. He did a quick ultrasound to make sure things were ok since I won't have another appointment until after 21 weeks. My AS is at 18 weeks, I pick up my chart at 19 weeks and then bring everything to my first appointment with my ob sometime after 21 weeks, they have yet to tell me when that is.
I think I might go to my family doctor for a quick checkup if I get too nervous while waiting. I have to take my daughter anyway, maybe he can quickly listen for a heartbeat or something while I am there. I think it should be easy to find at 17 weeks, right?
I have Kaiser and they have me in a centering program where I am grouped in a class with other moms that are expecting around the same time. During the class, we get pulled aside for our one on one check-ups. We had our 12-16 week appointment yesterday. Got to meet the midwifes, meet with moms that are having the same difficulties as me, and learned more about nutrition.
I had my 1st ultrasound at 8 weeks and yesterday they scheduled my 20 week anatomy scan on October 5. I am scheduled for a ultrasound level 2 with a perinatologist because my DH's brother is mentally disabled so they want a more detailed scan to check the baby's health.
Yesterday was such a relief! M blood pressure and weight are looking good and the baby's heartbeat came in strong on the Doppler. I finally feel comfortable telling friends and the rest of my family that we are expecting!
@PerraSucia Really?? I live in northern California!
The program is really cool because the classes are 2 hours long so you have so much time to ask questions or discuss concerns with the midwifes. Then they just pull us aside one by one to do our regular appointment stuff like weight, urine sample, blood pressure, and heartbeat check.
@kswiger06 I have low blood pressure normally but it gets even lower during pregnancy. Doctors are always fine with it, but the nurses ask every time if I'm feeling all right. Not sure if your blood pressure is going to a stay that low of if you plan on getting an epidural but that's the only time my low blood pressure was an issue.
my midwives didn't write down my appointment. I'm supposed to go in at 430 but they are closing at 230 and don't have any appointments for me in August. they're trying to figure some out but if they cancel I'm gonna cry at my desk.
@Gretchypoo - no!!! fingers crossed for you...I would cry too...i'm thinking positive thoughts....they should get you in regardless this month since they messed up and forgot to write it down.
@jennpearl007 Is every appointment like that? My job is really laid back when I need to leave for appointments but they wouldn't be too happy if I was leaving for 2+ hours each time!
@BlondePeanut they got me in!! PHEW! They were super nice. Thanked me for calling and even said it was totally their fault. They don't know what happened but I get to keep my appointment.
Had my 16 week appt this morning. It was a quick one, they just checked my weight, blood pressure, etc, and the Dr. checked the heartbeat Sheduled the anatomy ultrasound for September 21! Can't wait!
@MrsP052909 I know what you mean! All of the appointments are 2 hours but the great thing is they give you the dates of all of your appointments when you sign up for the program. That way you can let your work know in advance or request the days off. Also, the centering program is either early morning or late afternoon. Mine, for example, are always on a Tuesday at 4:30pm. For now, the appointments are monthly, but as our due dates grow closer, they will become bi-weekly. Then there is one last appointment where we all bring our newborns in to meet each other!
The midwife that ran the class said that it was pretty flexible. We could come late or leave early if we had to. Or you could even skip the appointment and if you let them know in advance, they would schedule a different appointment to make up for it.
