Twins!

We went for our first ultrasound on 8/15 and found out that there are 2 babies in there!  Baby B is measuring a week behind where it should be (FHR 109), which is 3 days behind Baby A (FHR 124).  The doctor told us not to announce twins yet (he didn't seem hopeful).  Has anyone else experienced this and what was the outcome?

Congrats!!!  My twin girls have just turned 16 months.  We did 1 IVF and so we were visiting the doctor weekly for the 1st trimester.
Week #5 we saw the 1st sac and were over the moon
Week #6 saw a second sac but was smaller but saw 2 heartbeats
Week #7 baby A was measuring right on track and baby B was 10 days behind, we were told to say we were pregnant but not to mention twins since he was confident that baby b wouldn't make it

As each week progressed both babies were still growing at their own rates and the doctor was amazed that baby b was continuing to grow.  Eventually they were measuring about 4 days apart.  Born at 33w 6 d at 4.8 oz and 3.13 oz.

Best of luck and stay positive!!!

yes, the RE office told us that by around 10 weeks, if both still going strong, there was a good possibility of both continuing, in first trimester anything can happen, or in any trimesters for that matter, we had our first u/s at around 5 weeks, then every 2 weeks since then to monitor the growth of both, I'm going to be 11 weeks, and I still feel hesitant.

I am a little late but my son measured 12 days behind at the furthest.  We were counseled on the possibility of a vanishing twin but low and behold he started catching up around 14 weeks.
