Re: Wednesday ticker 8-24
Baby is a lime
I have an ultrasound on Sunday and plan on announcing sometime afterwards
no new symptoms
everybody is dying
We we are a co-sleeping family. I currently have my 3yo and 18mo in our beds right now so we will be planning their bedroom and then just baby proofing our bed for baby. I always feel kinda sad that I miss out on nursery decorating but the co-sleeping works out so well for us.
How far along are you: 11 weeks! yay!!

I want to do a simple, clean looking nursery that will be able to transition well to toddler/kid years (neutrals/convertible bed - dresser that can be used for several years) We are finding out so I bet I will start to get more specific when that day comes!

@mecoats A Winnie the Pooh nursery sounds cute! Have fun sharing your exciting news with your family! FINALLY, right?
@lindsey2017 That talk of fair food is making me real hungry for elephant ears and corn dogs.
@sammajane19 Sorry about the cold! Feel better soon. Pregnant and sick is so rough, I hope you have someone taking excellent care of you!
As for me:
I'm 13 weeks, second tri, woohoo!
Baby is the size of a lemon or a clownfish.
No appointments until mid-September.
No new symptoms, just patiently waiting to show a little. I keep losing weight even without the food aversion.
Rants: After all that hemming and hawing over it, DH and I finally settled on cancelling our Bahaman cruise. Not because of the Bahamas themselves, but because we discovered that the port we would leave from/return to (Port of Miami) is sandwiched right between the two areas of FL that have local Zika transmission. Less than a mile or two of separation on either side. That's way too close for comfort for me. We're trying to decide what else to do with that vacation time.
This is the third baby, so not much planning required. Going to kick our then-to-be three-year-old out of the convertible crib (poor, chewed-on thing that it is) and relocate him to a separate toddler bed in a different room and give his room to the baby. My mom did get us new dressings for the crib/room though. It was a neutral jungle theme (darker browns, greens) for the first two kids. This time it's tans and creams (and I think just a generic teddy-bear type theme).

Rant- I usually make DH take me out to this really nice, really expensive sushi restaurant a couple towns over but I'm too nervous to do it this birthday....also, no birthday drinks. Boo.

How big is baby?: a lemon
Any new symptoms: I had the worst headache ever last week, doc says it was a migraine and wrote me a script. Other than that appetite has increased.
Rant/Rave: Got our blood test results, it's a boy
GTKY: nursery planning: being it's a disney baby, we're going Monsters Inc with most things, a little Mickey and Pooh when there's no Monsters item.

@ihateusernames* Good luck with your ultrasound on Sunday! Also, I am sorry you’ve had so many deaths around you recently. Hoping some positive things happen soon to balance all that out.
@mecoats Good luck with your blood work this week! Glad they finally got the insurance stuff figured out. Also, we may have to exchange nursery ideas. I am thinking of going the Winnie the Pooh route myself!
@lindsey2017 Good luck with your appointment on Monday! Sorry you have been feeling poorly and dealing with constipation. That is no fun.
@sammajane19 Sorry you’re dealing with a summer cold. That sounds awful. Hopefully it will pass soon and you feel better (as good as you can with other pregnancy symptoms such as RLP).
@bluebird2318 Congrats on making it to 2nd trimester!!! I know that is exciting. Sorry you and your DH had to cancel your cruise. Hopefully you can find some other travel that would be a nice babymoon for the two of you. My DH and I are looking at having to cancel our December trip to Disney World. With the latest local transmission in the Clearwater/Tampa area, I’m not holding my breath that Orlando will by safe come December. We are giving it a little more time, but I don’t think the odds are in our favor. Also, excellent pick on the fair food. Elephant Ears = Life. YUM!
@SienaC Happy Birthday! Sorry you can’t enjoy a true birthday drink, but maybe you could have a tasty virgin option? I know it’s not necessarily the same thing. As to your question on trimester, everything I’ve read says that at the end of 12 weeks (13W0D) 2nd trimester starts. Here’s a thing from WebMD: Pregnancy is measured in trimesters from the first day of your last menstrual period, totaling 40 weeks. The first trimester of pregnancy is week 1 through week 12, or about 3 months. The second trimester is week 13 to week 27. And the third trimester of pregnancy spans from week 28 to the birth. LINK
@ngcsugirl1112 Glad your appointment went well this morning! Also, I feel you on the IL front. My MIL tells me EVERY SINGLE TIME she sees me that she is DYING to tell her friends. I’m always like “well, I appreciate you keeping it a secret until DH and I are ready for others to know. You know how important that is to us.” While I’m thinking, if you so much as breathe a word to someone, I will hurt you lol.
@jadkins17 Sorry you are dealing with super bloat. It has definitely gotten bad for me too. I will just be happy when I have an actual baby bump instead of this soft gassy bloat stomach that grows by the end of the day.
@disneybaby84 Congrats on making it to 2nd trimester! Also, that is exciting you already know the sex of your LO. Sorry you’ve been having such bad headaches recently. Hopefully the script from your physician helps!
@kpknoke Congrats on making it to 2nd trimester! Also glad your MS is going away. Hopefully your energy will come back now.
How far along are you: 11 Weeks
How big is baby: A Lime
Upcoming appointments this week: None this week. Next appointment is on 9/6.
Any new symptoms or changes: Had a headache the last two days, but I don’t think it has been specifically due to pregnancy. Will say the bloat is out of control now and I’m breaking out more. I’m hoping these hormones calm the F down and I get a really bump soon instead of this squishy bloat blump I currently have. Love how it just continues to grow throughout the day.
Rants/Raves: So apparently I thoroughly frustrated my husband last night. I fell asleep on the couch and he proceed to repeatedly wake me up saying I wasn’t breathing right (I got hot sleeping on the couch and I get a little congested when I’m hot, etc.) and he’s worried the baby isn’t going to be getting air. Then in the middle of the night last night (after I finally get up and go to my actual bed), he elbows me and is like STOP IT. Apparently I was talking gibberish in my sleep all night long and he couldn’t sleep. He told me this morning it was some weird incoherent babble that sounded like parseltongue (harry potter reference for all the non-geeks). He was like if you keep it up, you’re going to give birth to Malfoy in 6 months. While funny now, I wanted to knock is head off every time he woke me up last night. JUST LET ME SLEEP.
GTKY: nursery planning? Or co-sleeping planning? Nursery for us. We plan to put the little one in a bassinet/pack n play thing in our room for the first few weeks. Then transition to the nursery –which is right next to our bedroom. The room is already a really soft pale yellow and I love Disney stuff, so I’m thinking a Winnie the Pooh nursery.

****TW - Infant death story**** I don't believe in newborns or infants sleeping in beds. I worked at the medical examiner's office in college as an intern. After having to go pick up a dead infant at the hospital and watching it's autopsy, I just wouldn't take the chance ***END TW**
We will keep the baby in our room for the first few months & then hopefully transition them to the nursery. We have a sitting room in our bedroom which could really function as a nursery with no problem.

Edited- meant to include the quote I was referring to "Nausea and vomiting of pregnancy usually starts before 9 weeks of pregnancy. For most women, it goes away by the second trimester (14 weeks of pregnancy). For some women, it lasts for several weeks or months. For a few women, it lasts throughout the entire pregnancy."

RANT: Another week posting after my bed time... I can't wait until my secret is out at work and I can openly bump during the day! :-D
How far along: 12 weeks
Size of baby: A plum
upcoming appointments: 1st tri screening next tuesday
rants/raves: **TW--bleeding** So yesterday I was feeling a little off and thought I noticed some very light pink spotting but thought I was being crazy. After lunch I went to the bathroom and had SO much bleeding. I panicked, had a total breakdown and left work. I called my doctor, and they told me to come in for a fetal heart check. All is ok, heartbeat sounded just fine. My raves are for my husband and my doctors office. I work downtown and take a bus to work--and had no way of getting back to my car. I called my husband in tears and he immediately left work to come get me. He was such a rock while I was having a total meltdown. As for my doctor, I switched OBs after too many bad experiences with my old one. I am SO grateful for making that decision. My doctor was out of the office, but the one that was in called me right back and fit me in immediately. They were so sweet and understanding of me being a wreck. It was a very scary experience, but thank god everything is ok. I know bleeding can be normal, but it's scary!!
GTKY: I have some ideas, but it depends on what we are having, so we will start really planning in October!
PS I love all this talk of fair food! Our state fair opens today, and I'm making my husband take me at some point while its here!
