2. Next milestone you're looking forward to?

3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:

4. GTKY: What is your most favorite band/album of all time?

Re: PGAL Check In 8/22

  • 1. How far along are you? 11w1d

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? NT scan in 10 more days

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I'm wearing leggings for the first time ever to work, and it's going to be a long day since we have open house from 5-7 tonight. They are maternity leggings, so I have the waistband rolled down as I don't have a bump yet (though it's also early in the day - I get the blump in the evening.) They're so comfy!! I wanna wear them all day every day.

    4. GTKY: What is your most favorite band/album of all time? I have two - Radiohead and Arcade Fire.

  • 1. How far along are you? 10wk4d

    2. Next milestone you are looking forward to? Getting my NIPT results and 12 wk appointment in 10 days!

    3. Rant/ Rave/ Positive vibes: This is random, but I have been having the craziest dreams! Saturday night I dreamt I went to McDonald's and ordered breakfast. When I woke up I had a major craving for a sausage biscuit. I told DH about it that next morning and he said I should have woken him up and he would have went to get me one lol

    4. GTKY: I am going to be boring and say I have too many favorites to choose!

  • 1. How far along are you? 9 weeks 5 days

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Next appointment with high-risk on September 1st, will be 11 weeks I day.

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: This past weekend we went to a wedding. I had a lot of fun but I couldn't believe how exhausted I got. I had to nap between the ceremony and the reception and ended up in bed by 10:30 after the reception. Usually my hubby and I stick it out till the last song but I was so exhausted. Sometimes I get frustrated that I feel so unlike myself but I know it's for a good reason!

    4. GTKY: What is your most favorite band/album of all time? ... would probably go with Tom Petty. So many hits! I got to see him in concert 4 years ago. It was amazing!

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Always the next appointment. Also finding out our baby's gender!

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: School is starting soon. This year I am working part time at two different schools and I'm starting to freak out a little bit. It will be good though!

    4. GTKY: What is your most favorite band/album of all time? He isn't a band, but Mat Kearney. Specifically his album City of Black and White

@dubcompanion Where did you get your maternity leggings? I'm looking for a good pair.

    Baby Boy: coming March 2017

  • @liepertsm My mom bought them for me. As soon as she gets back to me, I'll let you know!

@sarahbobby The fatigue is almost surreal! I spent all day out with family, and I was passed out by 10 last night - though I could have easily fallen asleep when I got home at 7. I agree, it's weird to feel unlike myself, but I do appreciate my body agreeing to the rest it desperately needs.
  • 1. How far along are you?  8+5

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to?  What I think is final scan at the RE & graduation day on Friday.  Going to the OB and getting my NIPT in 2 weeks or so.

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:  Struggling with PGAL brain again.  My boobs seemed less sore this weekend which had me in a funk.  I am happy that I am not on the struggle bus with MS, but I wish I had more confidence in what is going on in my ute!!   I need ute goggles!!

    4. GTKY: What is your most favorite band/album of all time?  This is really hard.  Best album - Depeche Mode Violator is the first one that comes to mind.  My favorite artists are Depeche Mode and The Pet Shop Boys.

    Baby Boy: coming March 2017

  • 1. How far along are you?  8+5

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to?  First OB appointment tomorrow! I can't wait to see my little one.

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I always struggle with being pregnant until I can feel the baby moving. I just have this sense that something isn't right because I can't feel him/her move. This is, of course, rooted in the fact that my daughter was stillborn, and the only clue I had was that she started moving more slowly and then stopped. I will feel better as soon as I can start to feel this little guy move.

    4. GTKY: What is your most favorite band/album of all time?  I do love some 80s/early 90s era U2.
  • @Spartanrd4 That is awesome news! I'm so happy that everything looked good  :)
  • 1. How far along are you? 10w3d

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? I so desperately want to survive first trimester... I have my 12 weeks appointment in 15 days (yes I have a countdown...), and for some reason I really and truly believe my PGAL brain will finally calm down a little if I can JUST get to that point...

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I appreciate the ladies of this thread more than y'all know. Your support, advice, and general care for others is my favorite part of our BMB

    4. GTKY: What is your most favorite band/album of all time? Hmmm I have too many. But an old one that I will forever love is the Goo Goo Dolls. Also, I'm not a fan of Bob Dylan's singing, but his lyrics are like magic.
  • @Spartanrd4 that is fantastic news! An hour long scan!! My goodness that would be awesome. Especially for easing that PGAL brain.

    1. How far along are you? 12.1

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? NT scan tmw morning!! AS long as my primary care provider gets me my referral!!! I asked for it last week and have yet to hear anything back. Last time I actually had to stop in the office on my way to my appointment to pick up the referral. They looked at me like I had 4 heads and had never heard about a referral. Such a PITA!

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: So I REALLY thought that after a couple positive milestones that my PGAL brain would lessen. I've had 3 US's already all going well. Here I am today thinking just like @Spartanrd4  was saying -that there will be an issue tomorrow. Every time preparing myself for the worst to the n'th degree.

    4. GTKY: What is your most favorite band/album of all time? I listen to so much I dont think I have a favorite. From Country to Rap, love DMB, rock and oldies. On my wedding day I told a new aunt of mine I liten to everything but Polka. She looked at me horrified - "But I LOVE polka"

I will say that one of the best live concerts I have been to is Linkin Park. During the show they stop pull out a piano main stage and sing a couple songs acapella.
  • @Spartanrd4 Woo hoo! I'm so happy to hear that everything went great for you today! And measuring ahead is wonderful. Congrats!

    1. How far along are you?
    9 weeks 6 days

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
    Making it to 12 weeks

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I've been in a total unproductive funk at work, and I really need to pull myself out of it. It's been slow lately and I work from home, so I think I miss going out into the world. I like to feel like I have a purpose. Hopefully things turn around soon.

    4. GTKY: What is your most favorite band/album of all time?
This is a tie between The Beatles - Abbey Road and The Dixie Chicks - Taking the Long Way. I'm seeing the Dixie Chicks in October and can't wait.

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Had my NT scan today which I was nervous about and having bad dreams about. It was also at the same hospital I gave birth at on the birthday of my daughter (stillborn at 38 wks last year this date) but everything looked good and baby was active so I'm at ease for now. Looking forward to 14 wks now which is officially second trimester and when I will be announcing pregnancy

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: finally told DD we were expecting and she's happy. She said "I hope it comes out right this time" which maybe wasn't the right verbiage but I know she had good intentions. She's the sweetest.

    4. GTKY: What is your most favorite band/album of all time? Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
  • @Spartanrd4 @mcdonald-bailey Yay!! I'm so glad you both had great NT scans today! You give me hope!

@vino831 Good luck at your NT scan tomorrow! Keep us posted - we'll be thinking of ya.

Great news @mcdonald-bailey!! Good luck at your scan tomorrow @vino831!!

I will send you positive vibes during your 10 day countdown @dubcompanion @allysondunn2 :)
  • @dubcompanion surreal is a good way to describe the fatigue! I'm a very active person and can usually run/hike for miles on end. In between the ceremony and the reception we stopped at the mall for a quick bite to eat and I thought, "I don't know if I can make it from the car to the front of the mall." I would never think something like that normally. I get tired so easily. It's very strange and new territory to me!

    @Spartanrd4 that is wonderful news!

@mrsbinpa I would like a pair of those goggles! :)

  • @mcdonald-bailey so glad the NT scan went well!! I hope you enjoy focusing on your announcement plans!

I still haven't decided how or when we will make our announcement. Guess it's time to start thinking about it!
  • Anyone planning on NOT making an announcement? I think I'm going to be on a 'need to know' basis since I'm high-risk and also heard some really hurtful comments after two losses. I don't think I can open myself up like that again.

  • @sarahbobby I think I will be starting to tell more family/friends in next couple weeks but don't think I will do a FB announcement until at least 20 weeks...if at all. Do what you are comfortable with...the whole world doesn't need to know whats going on in your uterus if you don't want them to!
  • @spartanrd4 Very true! I only have half of uterus anyways and don't really feel like sharing that with the world either. So nice to have this group to relate to! Thank you!

  • @dupcompanion Good luck at your NT scan! Also, I’m with you on the evening appearing blump. I start off fine in the morning, but in the evening, only sweats for me, thanks!

@allysondunn2 Good luck at your 12 week appointment! Are you finding out the sex of your child with the NIPT results, or are you team green?

@sarahbobby Good luck at your appointment on Sept 1st! Also, I will be a bridesmaid in a wedding when I’m 16-17 weeks. It’s going to be an all-day event, from hair and breakfast with the girls in the morning, afternoon wedding and pictures, reception and 10pm sendoff bride and groom. I’m really excited, but also know I’m going to be super exhausted.

@liepertsm Same on the milestone front! I’ve got 2 weeks till my next appointment, and it also marks the end of first trimester (when we feel comfortable going public), so I’m very antsy. I also have to confess I am eager to find out the sex of the baby. I was even briefly considering the sneak peek test. But I just can’t justify paying $80 for something I’m already going to be paying to find out at our 18 weeks US. So  I’m trying to practice patience.  ::Sigh::

@MrsBinPA Good luck on Friday! I’m so glad things have been progressing well for you! Are you planning on finding out the sex of your child with the NIPT results, or are you team green? Sorry the PGAL brain is getting you. Hopefully you will get some more reassurance on Friday.  Also ute goggles would be amazing!

@knirish1 Good luck at your appointment tomorrow!

@spartanrd4 I’m glad your scan went well today! That was definitely good timing, given where your mind was. Also, what Doppler are you planning to get. I’ve finally figured out how to best find my little one and love it!

@DaniBanani16 I’ve been counting down as well. No shame in that! My next appointment is literally the last day of my first trimester, so I think if I get through that and everything goes well, I will be much more relaxed about everything. I hope your 15 days fly by!

@vino831 Good luck with your NT scan tomorrow! Hopefully your PCP will have everything handled and it will be smooth sailing.

@shae86 Hoping you are able to shake off the funk you’re in with work. I know that is not a fun feeling.

@mcdonald-bailey I’m glad your NT scan went well today! I’m sorry it was at the hospital you’ve previously had such a bad experience in, but here’s hoping that you will make many new positive memories.

    1. How far along are you? 10 weeks 5 days

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Next appointment on September 6th –which also marks the last day of my 1st trimester.

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: So I officially had a small freak out moment yesterday with zika stuff. I don’t know why, but I read this article online yesterday which was talking about a woman who contracted zika while pregnant and lost her child. It was really descriptive about what happened to her baby and how the virus attacked it. Needless to say that , while there is zero local transmission reported where I live and I have not traveled anywhere with active zika transmission, I sucessfuly freaked myself out and now will be wearing deet whenever I’m outside of any amount of time over 5-10 minutes. Why did I do this to myself?

Also feeling really disconnected with pregnancy recently. I’m still very excited about the pregnancy and concerned about having a healthy pregnancy, but I don’t feel connected yet to my unborn child. It’s like I really don’t feel pregnant (even though I have pregnancy symptoms). Hoping I will feel a little more connected at my next US or when I start to feel the baby kick.

    4. GTKY: What is your most favorite band/album of all time? Sorry, I’m lame but I love so many different bands and genres that I can’t pick one. Also, I’m choosing to list my top ones, because today I choose to be lazy. A lot of the ones mentioned so far are really good!

  • @BelcherEars I heard the sonoline B is a really good doppler!
  • @Spartanrd4  Yes! that is what I got and I love it. I had a hard time at first finding little one, but after a few times of using, you kind of figure out where your LO hangs out and it gets easier. I've also found that (for whatever reason) I can locate the HB much easier after I've eaten dinner. Maybe my bloated stomach just pushes LO to the top.

  • @belcherears We will find out.  I was team green for years, but realized it is a surprise no matter when you find out and I think knowing and planning accordingly will just make me less stressed in the long run.

@sarahbobby I don't think I will do an announcement.  I think if we did anything it might just be in our Christmas cards, not a post on social media.  There is a small part of me that wonders if I am letting PGAL anxiety steal the fun out of things though.

    @vino831 good luck tomorrow!

I had a weird episode of sweating and dizziness late morning today.  I had eaten & had about 30oz of water already when it happened.  IDK what the deal was.  Thankfully I was working at home today so I was able to lie down and relax for a few.

  • @BelcherEars Thank you! We will be finding out the sex, I couldn't stand not knowing. That article would have been enough to freak me out too!

  • 1. How far along are you? 9 weeks today

    2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Just had my last scan with my RE and looking forward to my first scan with my new doctor, a regular OB next wednesday. I've been monitored so closely coming from IVF that it will be an adjustment to waiting longer in between scans after this next appt.

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: my morning sickness continues to be awful - but I have a prescription now for diclegis and going to try it tonight. But at least puking multiple times a day quiets my PGAL brain since it's a good sign! Crazy as it sounds I'm almost scared to take the medication bc if I wasn't so sick (even knowing it's the meds helping) I feel like I'd get worried... irrational I know, but anyway!

    4. GTKY: What is your most favorite band/album of all time? Guided by Voices/Bee Thousand or Wolf Parade/Aplogies to the Queen Mary

@MrsBinPA good luck with your final scan with your RE and your 'graduation'!!! When I walked out of the practice after mine I felt SO happy.
  • @MrsBinPA There's a chance that this was your autonomic system struggling with all the extra blood in your body. If it happens to an otherwise healthy person, it can be diagnosed as POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). Essentially, changes in your body's posture (from sitting to standing, moving too quickly, etc.) causes your blood to pool to your legs and not pump all the way through your body. It can cause dizziness, temporary vision loss, sweating, and anxiety/confusion.

When it occurs in pregnancy, it's usually because your body has a lot of extra blood and your heart is trying to keep up with pumping it all to the right places. I've been told that compression socks can be helpful. For the record, I am NOT a doctor, so all of this should be taken with a grain of salt - it's just what I read online.

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: My OBGYN wants me to see a perinatologist due to hypertension as I am at risk for preeclampsia, so we have that appointment tomorrow...hopefully everything is okay

    4. GTKY: What is your most favorite band/album of all time? I don't really have one...but I am a sucker for music from the 90s

  • Today my daughter told DH that she's scared she won't have a brother or sister because of what happened last time (we just told her a couple of days ago). That makes me sad. Also, there's really no way to reassure her that everything will be ok. Not sure how to go about discussing it with her.
