I posted in another thread but I just love my little sweetheart and want to post again ❤️
at 36 week sonogram, I was diagnosed with IUGR. She hasn't grown much since her 32 week sonogram (which had been good). she/I had a single umbilical artery which is often associated with growth issues. I thought we were good but it snuck up on us at the end of my pregnancy. Fluid was also low and my blood pressure had been high.
So what I thought was a regular doctors visit ended with me going to labor and delivery. They induced and I was in labor on and off for 12 hours. Then my water broke. I was encouraged by this- something would happen on its own. But, it caused her heart rate to start dropping and the doctor recommend c section. I was upset at first, and very very scared of surgery. I will say that for me... It was nothing. Neither the surgery or recovery have been bad at ALL. I wouldn't have chosen it, but it also wasn't awful. I'm glad we did do a csection because the cord turned out to be wrapped around her throat :( the doctor said her cord was short/thin in addition to SUA. So baby girl is better off out here. She's in the NICU because she was tiny (4lbs8oz) and having trouble regulating her own blood sugar, which is normal for small babies. Otherwise she's very healthy, breathing great, etc.  and she's scheduled for discharge Wednesday... Yay!!!!
