Re: PGAL weekly checkin 8.22.16
4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise) feeling worried. The Doppler is failing me. I get fed up with it. The heartbeat is super hard to find, and I don't care as much because my baby kicks CONSTANTLY when I lay down. But between kicks, I'm a basket case.
5. When is your next appointment?
Tomorrow. Anatomy scan. I'm terrified. With my first pregnancy, the anatomy scan meant boy or girl. With this one, I am so aware of issues that can be there. I hope my child is okay.
dh and I are going on a babymoon this week! I've never left my daughter. The first time I left her for more than 2 hours was when I had my d&c...she was 14 months old. We are leaving her for 3 days this time.
7. Anything else on your mind?
8. GTKY: you get a free afternoon to spend with your non-significant other BFF. How do you spend it?
My best friend is also my mommy best friend. So we would probably just chat about boobs and poop.
2. how far along are you? EDD? Team green pink or blue?
20 weeks on Monday! January 9, We hope to find out tomorrow at our anatomy scan.
Got another pregnancy cold
4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)
i am looking forward to having it behind me. Just want to know all organs are present and accounted for.
5. When is your next appointment?
Tomorrow morning! That's why I posted today so it wouldn't be late in the day since we have a lot of anatomy scabs going on.
rant - I've been having horrible dreams lately
7. Anything else on your mind?
Excited for the strawberry/blueberry muffins I am making for breakfast - thought it would be a fun thing to make for the anatomy scan since they will have both pink and blue berries
8. GTKY: you get a free afternoon to spend with your non-significant other BFF. How do you spend it?
My BFF and I started graduate school together and we live in different states now - we would probably just sit on a couch with our kitties and chat while eating something delicious and watching funny YouTube videos.

4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise) As we get closer to the anatomy scan I get more nervous but the fact that I'm starting to feel baby move more often is helping. Just hope everything looks good when we see.
5. When is your next appointment? 8/30 (Next Tuesday) and I'm very excited and getting anxious. Very aware of all the possible issues that we can find so that makes me anxious but I'm also excited to hopefully find out the sex because I think that will help me feel like I can start on my list of things to do.
7. Anything else on your mind?
8. GTKY: you get a free afternoon to spend with your non-significant other BFF. How do you spend it? Eating in a new restaurant and catching up on life. She lives 12 hours away and between kids and jobs and life we don't get to catch up very often. We've been best friends since 6th grade though so time and distance doesn't really change anything.
Well the anatomy scan went really well! Baby is weighing in about 10 oz and my OB said based on the length of the long bones Cletus will probably be an average size person which makes a lot of sense given that DH and I are average size. And mothers intuition was correct! Cletus the fetus is a boy!

4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise) Pretty good. Feeling movement really helps! And I agree with @ThePax89 The heartbeat is becoming more hard to find! Arg! I think I am starting to believe more and more that we are actually going to have this baby - and saying that terrifies me.
5. When is your next appointment? On Wednesday. I have my cervix checked every 2 weeks and she said last time that they will always start out with an abdominal ultrasound. Yay!
7. Anything else on your mind? I just noticed the blue veins you can see all over and around my boobs. So weird.

20 weeks 1 day. EDD January 8th. Team Pink!
Starting to feel baby move and kick. Swelling has gone down now that the temperatures have dropped into the 80s. I am so looking forward to fall.
4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)
I was pretty anxious before the A/S today, but we heard baby girl moving around on the doppler and it calmed me down a bit. I told my mom and husband they can start telling people today - so my anxiety is up a little, but pretty excited about knowing the sex so hopefully the excitement wins out.
5. When is your next appointment?
It was today. I have my next OB appointment 9/19, but we might have to skip it due to changing health insurance.
I'm excited for boot weather, but was struggling tying my shoelaces yesterday, so hopefully I can get myself into my boots when the weather finally changes.
7. Anything else on your mind?
Today is my 1 year wedding anniversary. It is crazy how fast the last year has gone by and how different our lives are now.
8. GTKY: you get a free afternoon to spend with your non-significant other BFF. How do you spend it? If i wasn't pregnant it would be over a bottle or two of wine, catching up and likely gossiping. Since I have been pregnant we have been catching up over lunches or dinners.

2. how far along are you? EDD? Team green pink or blue?
19 weeks, 6 days - Jan. 10th
Sleeping is frustrating. And foods that tasted good the day before taste weird (like chemicals) the next day (this happened with nectarines).
4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)
Ok-ish? I've been having some pain in the side of my abdomen where my DD accidentally pushed off against me with her hand last Wednesday. I'm not one to call the doc quickly, so I haven't, but I'm still feeling pain there at times. And I haven't been feeling very noticeable baby kicks. So combined, those have me slightly on edge.
5. When is your next appointment?
This Wednesday, and hopefully that puts my mind at ease.
It's tough when your work team consists only of one other person. I came in this morning with a fresh, good attitude, and my boss is in a sour mood. Brings me down.
7. Anything else on your mind?
My DD has started calling this her baby. Hopefully that's a good thing? She also has asked how my belly feels where she pushed on it, which I think is some pretty remarkable concern for a 3 year old to have 5 days after the incident. She's a handful but she has such a good heart. I can't wait to see how she is with the baby.
8. GTKY: you get a free afternoon to spend with your non-significant other BFF. How do you spend it?
BFP 2/3/16 --> MC 2/13/16
@LilLynch2015 I second the boot weather excitement. I actually thought about it this morning when I was getting ready because our temps are in the low 70's which feels so good compared to the 90's of last week, it feel like fall. I too hope I can get my boots on, I remember last time it being a little bit of a struggle some mornings but it was worth it
@Susykat77 Your quilt project sounds very exciting, I hope we can see finished product pics when its done. I have a scrap book that's been in the making for almost that long but don't see that changing any time soon.
@Carly79 Glad everything is okay!
2. how far along are you? EDD? Team green pink or blue? 20w6d! Team PINK!
4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise) Pretty good. Sometimes I get a bit anxious if it's been a while sense the last kick, but I'll just pop the doppler on and hear the feedback from kicks or the heartbeat and immediately feel better.
5. When is your next appointment? Sept 8th
7. Anything else on your mind?
8. GTKY: you get a free afternoon to spend with your non-significant other BFF. How do you spend it?
I get to spend the evening with my 3 best friends about once a week, and we all get together and cook dinner for each other and work on a craft. It's the best time ever.
@ceclarlinetlo yay for an awesome scan. Congrats on your boy.
@cjs260 I'm feeling them higher now too. Do you feel kicks by your belly button?
@ThePax89, he is 21 months. We were there in April for a similar diagnosis but I actually learned more about the albuterol and nebulizer this time around so I feel better prepared for his next cold. For some reason, his colds have started to turn in to bronchitis and respiratory stuff and breathing things scare me. The amazing thing is how quickly he bounces back. Today, you'd never know he was sick on Saturday.
@cjs260 That is awesome that you get to go to the sale early. I hope you have lots of luck

17+3, TBD Sept. 3
Good! Sleep insomnia came back last night, I'm still a little moody and a lot of activity can wipe me out!
4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise) Okay--ish? Developed shingles...I have a small spot in the middle of my back and burning pain from my right side to the boob. Then I googled it and pregnancy, and can I just say that was a shitty idea? Talked to my nurse today, she's calling in a strong dose of Valtrex (because nothing says awesome like being preggo and picking up herpes creme!) and that it should have no affect on the baby and to quit looking things up on the internet. Sigh.
5. When is your next appointment?
Sept 13, Anatomy scan and we're taking DS along!
Went to a preggo chiropractor last Friday, man that felt good!
7. Anything else on your mind?
Planning DS's 4th B'day party/gender reveal on Sept. 3rd. Can't wait to find out if it's a Rooster or Hen Nugget!
8. GTKY: you get a free afternoon to spend with your non-significant other BFF. How do you spend it?
That would be my sister, and if I wasn't preggo, it would be finding a great restaurant with a kick ass bar and a good live band.

2. how far along are you? EDD? Team green pink or blue?
20 weeks tomorrow - Team pink
Good. Just tired in the evenings but trying to give myself a little more downtime than usual.
4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)
Good. Going on vacation for the next week and a little stressed not to have the doppler nearby but I'm going to just have to make it work
5. When is your next appointment?
I need to change it so probably the 23rd.
Leaving for Europe on THursday! So excited for 10 days exploring but I hate hate hate packing and still haven't even pulled out my suitcase
7. Anything else on your mind?
8. GTKY: you get a free afternoon to spend with your non-significant other BFF. How do you spend it?
Oooh probably with chinese or thai take-out and bad tv together.
2. how far along are you? EDD? Team green pink or blue?
21 weeks - January 2 -- GREEN
Good. Feeling more breathless and a lot of thirst lately. Loving feeling baby more frequently.
4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)
It was great to see baby today and how much he or she has grown since the last ultrasound. I still feel anxious because we will not really know if everything is "ok" until the radiologist reviews the photos and sends a report to the OB. I truly respect that the tech is not going to make a medical diagnosis or provide a lot of information, but she did tell me a few things that have sort of calmed my nerves in the meantime: 1) baby has all his or her parts 2) baby is measuring right on track -- just about my EDD, maybe one or two days ahead (basically negligible) 3) baby is 14 oz 4) all "structures" in the brain were there and 5) strong heartbeat of 142. Also, she confirmed for me that I have a posterior placenta, which was not that shocking to me since I have felt movement for several weeks.
I was also anxious about my cervical length -- for no other reason than that I am a worrier, and having had uterine surgeries (D&C and then surgery to remove a septum) I have always had a concern in the back of my mind that somehow my cervix will be short or incompetent. Has anyone that has had their anatomy scan yet specifically asked about their cervical length? The tech only said to me it's fine, but I've made the mistake of googling cervical lengths now and averages for 21 weeks. Just when I swore off Dr. Google...
5. When is your next appointment?
September 8, but I plan to call the OB by the end of the week to discuss the anatomy scan.
7. Anything else on your mind? Just my above questions, really.
8. GTKY: you get a free afternoon to spend with your non-significant other BFF. How do you spend it? Probably a movie and lunch!

4. I feel good. I just wish I could feel baby kicking! Sometimes I think there's something but then again I'm not sure.
5. Next appointment is this Friday. Regular checkup.
7. Already know that I'm having a girl but can't wait for the anatomy scan!
8. GTKY: you get a free afternoon to spend with your non-significant other BFF. How do you spend it? We would be eating, n she drinking lol, n binge watching Netflix.
I went to MFM today for my cervix check and all looked good with it. They did 90% of my anatomy scan today because she could see everything and the doc said everything looks perfect!! Woot woot!
One thing that they will continue to monitor is my placenta location - it is currently 2 cm away from my cervical opening which is ok but it can't get any closer other wise I'll have to have a C-section. ACK!!
It was really wonderful to see her kick and feel it to confirm that what I have been feeling is in fact movement! She' s an active gal - kicking me as I type!
edited for clarity

2. 17w, Team pink (or at least the MFM was pretty sure of it at my ultrasound last week)
4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise) Better after my ultrasound last Saturday. He could see quite a lot and settled a fair amount of my nerves about things. I only wish she would have been more mobile as I'm still not feeling her move - seeing move of it would have been great.
5. When is your next appointment? Tomorrow for monthly with OB
7. Anything else on your mind? Mom spent the weekend in the hospital and is doing a lot better, but had to go back to medical rehab. She has a bad staph infection (MRSA) in her foot. I have to remain at arms length away at all times, have gloves and gown, etc. It's tough - I just hope the antibiotics go swiftly (about two weeks) and then she can come home.
8. GTKY: you get a free afternoon to spend with your non-significant other BFF. How do you spend it? We work together and so we see each other daily, but don't spend time much outside of work. Maybe... Lunch, talking, pedis and shopping.
@susykat77 Congrats on a good appointment. Glad your placenta is behaving itself so far, but I think even if it were to move down it would still be possible for it to move back up before delivery. FX that it stays put and gets further away.
@SquirrelGiggles83 Sorry to hear that about your mom, I hope everything continues to get better and she can come home. Also, I get what you are saying about the sex of the baby. For some reason when I think about baby I refer to it as a girl in my head. We find out on Tuesday what it is and if it's a boy I'm going to have some major mental exercises going to get used to the fact.
