Happy thread

Do we have a happy, positive thread somewhere?? I know pregnancy can't all be bad, some of us must have some happy things about this experience to share.

Like yesterday I was in the neighborhood I grew up in, attending a wedding reception for a girl I've known her whole life. I went up to her grandma, who's always been another grandma to me, to say hello and catch up. She was sitting with a friend of hers, and told her that I'm expecting twins. This little old lady looked shocked and said, you don't even look pregnant! That ladies, is what you tell a pregnant woman. Made me smile all day

My students this year are great! I just love them. And it's been fun seeing my studnets from last year and their reaction to my belly. It's not very big yet but one of my sweeties from last year gave me a huge hug Thursday and commented "Mrs. S You're so big!" It made my heart happy

I feel like I surpassed a pregnancy milestone today...it made me happy. I was at the grocery store checkout (wearing an obviously maternity dress) and the cashier asked me what I was having! I still feel like I'm in the stage where I just look like I've gotten plump, but I'm happy the outside world can tell.

That said, I'm totally planning on pranking people who ask when I'm like, waaaay obviously pregnant.

I was at a family bridal shower yesterday and my 14-year-old cousin told me that if Baby does indeed come on 12/9 (my due date), to push him back in and wait until 12/10 so she can have a birthday twin

I slept a full 8 hours uninterrupted and DID NOT throw up today. AND spent the day cleaning, grocery shopping and prepping food for the week. Ooooh ohhhhh yeah

I love this, thank you for starting this thread.

On Friday, DH was able to feel baby boy kick for the first time. He went absolutely still, standing there with his hand on my belly, while the baby kicked away. I'll carry that memory with me for ever.

My DDs are with grandma for 5 whole days as of this morning, and I feel like I get time with DH and baby. I often notice his movements (baby, not DH) but am busy, now I get to stop what I'm doing and look at my belly moving around

I already am loving my little guy!

Although I have an anterior placenta, I have been able to feel baby kick some here and there. Yesterday morning, as I was drinking my coffee and watching some TV after I ate breakfast, I just watched my stomach move when I'd feel him kick/punch. It was such a great feeling, and I hope to be able to start feeling more as time goes on.

And this weekend, I felt like I actually slept through most of the night. I think it helped putting an eye mask on so it was completely dark. This was mainly Friday and Saturday night, but I will take it.

Same happened to me a couple days ago! Cashier at the grocery store asked what I was having! And it made me so happy too!! I love that I look pregnant now! I love my belly!

DH is on vacation this week! In between the cleaninh, we are going to sit down and finalize the plans for Michael's nursery, and order some wall art for DD's room. It's nice to be able to sit down and focus on this stuff with DH, as he normally leave the house in the mornings at 5:30, and doesn't get home until 7:30 or 8.

I'm happy because we finally ordered baby's bassinet and changing table and a new TV for our bedroom and it will be arriving next week. & I'm also happy that I've recently in the last two weeks felt him kick and move around and have also been virtually stress free. Things are going good.

Congrats on ordering your stuff! It's so fun when you get new baby things, it makes it so real. And with the kicks calming your nerves, I'm there with you! I haven used the fetal Doppler in a few weeks because every time the baby moves, I know he's alright in there.

@yellingbanana I decided not to do the fetal Doppler because I'd worry too much if I didn't feel him moving around and overuse it when he's just sleeping. (I do fetal kick counts and that gives me a piece of mind). I know when he's more active throughout the day and when hes less active also I keep up with it. & it's most definitely exciting to buy new baby stuff. I almost cried when we decided what one we wanted and ended up ordering it and it definitely makes things more and more real. I'm so excited to meet him.

We went to a pool party last night and DD had so much fun. She kicked and squealed and played with the pool noodles ("noonies") and splashed. It made me so happy to watch her have fun!

Aaaaand today DH is doing the grocery shopping by himself. I am so glad to not have to go shopping! It's the little things.

My DH got to feel the baby kick Saturday which was amazing. I have anterior placenta so I haven't been able to feel anything and this weekend I started feeling some movement very low (must be below the placenta) so I had him see if he could feel it and he did! It's not very often yet but it's so exciting!

Then I just got an email from my cousin and their son is 3 so they are starting to get rid of some of their infant stuff and offered it to me! So I'm getting a bunch of cloth diapering stuff, a rock and play, and a jogging stroller. She offered some other great stuff but we are planning on getting those things new but I could not be more grateful right now

Baby kicking up a storm makes me happy and finalizing plans for the nursery and ds' big boy room. WE got his bedding and the bed that still needs set up, and all he needs is a dresser. Once we get that stuff, we'll clean out the spare room, get the rugs steam cleaned, and start painting the nursery next month! I'm so freaking pumped to decorate and get that stuff done before I'm too big and have no energy to do it. And ds is getting excited when he sees a baby now. He goes mommy, baby! Archer! Then pats my belly showing me that he understands what is happening. He is such a smart little boy. He's starting to count to three and know his letters too. Dh and I are doing pretty well, so all around, it's happy town in our household.

I am so happy that we finally booked our babymoon! It's going to be so nice to relax in the mountains for a few days, and we are fortunate we can make it a reality. Ahh so excited! ^.^

One of my close friends just had her baby this weekend! I am so excited for them! They were Team Green and baby is a boy! When I heard she had checked into the hospital, I got all the feels and might have teared up at my desk at work. The next morning, we heard he was born, I definitely started crying! He is adorable, and now I can't believe I have four more months to wait until we get to meet our LO. December can't get here fast enough!

This weekend we bumped into some friends leaving church who have just adopted a newborn after 12 years of trying to adopt or having baby themselves. An acquaintance of theirs from church had contacted them a few months earlier to ask if they would be interested in adopting her baby and naturally they were, but nervous because things like this had fallen through for them in the past.

This time it has all worked out.

He was so little and cute tucked into her moby wrap sleeping away. I'm so happy for them and it just gave me all the feels to see them parenting knowing their prayers had been answered.

I did bedtime yoga and listened to guided meditation last night before bed... I slept like a rock. I've not had such restful sleep in months.

Oh and the nursery is finished!! Yay!

Yay for a happy thread! I totally needed some smiles.

I went on a mini girls trip this weekend with my mom, aunt, sister and niece. We had a very relaxing time! I felt like I really needed a couple days to just relax and unwind. I've been super stressed lately, but I feel like a better wife and mommy having had a mini break. So I spent today having fun with DS! DH is working out of town all week so that's our plan for each day. He's a total Mommy's boy and I love it! It's his last year with me before kindergarten so I'm trying to soak it all in.

We also got the nursery painted last weekend and a dresser! So it's coming along, which makes me happy. I got some Christmas shopping done this weekend too!

A friend of mine gave me 10 HUGE BOXES of little girl clothes, swaddlers, and sleep sacks, from newborn all the way to 2T! I don't even think I could use at all! They are so cute!!!

This is what I have right now on my phone. We added a glider (not shown) and a dresser in the closet. H also made a pegboard for over the changing table that we just finished painting so it's not on the wall yet. I'll share when it's up. H built a few things for DS' room so we wanted to keep up the tradition.

@DiFazette LOVE that room! We're going to do a more neutral Woodland Theme, but I have been obsessed with looking at arrows and stuff like that, too. So it might be a combo Adventure/Woodland theme.

@dmontgo Jealous of your babymoon! That will be so much fun and relaxing. Sadly, we aren't going on one, which is fine. I need to use my time off I have left for the year (over almost two full weeks) for when I have the baby, before the actual leave starts. We also went to Vegas in January, which I consider an early babymoon. I think we had enough fun for awhile on that trip, ha.

@kacie209 We initially thought we weren't going to have one because the military boned us on scheduling. I can't afford to take an leave right now either, so we planned ours for Thanksgiving weekend. We're going about 4 hours away, and I'm due in the middle of December, so hopefully we won't be cutting it too close.

Vegas is awesome..well, what I remember anyway. I was quite drunk lol. >.>

@dmontgo We went with 2 other couples (SIL/hubby and a cousinsof theirs/hubby - neither had ever been)... and DH and I won every night of staying out the latest, ha. We wanted to get to bed a little earlier on our last night, but that was the night the rest actually wanted to stay out later - our latest was 4am one morning. Lots of drinks were also drank. It was also my fertile week, but Vegas luck was not IN our favor.

I'll add this here just because it was cute and made me laugh. Baby spent most of the morning sleeping, which is odd because he's usually active in the A.M., chill mid day, and active again at night. I decided to give my tummy a little shake to get him to move for me. In response I got one single punch and a shift, just like I deserved. "Leave me alone, mom, I'm sleeping!" He's awake now, moving and shaking. Cute.

DH felt baby girls kicks for the first time last night. The look on his face was pure shock and excitement; he cried he was so happy
