I officially need new bras. I need big boobie bra recommendations. Looking for something in a 34G, lined, would like front closure but it doesn't have to be. I'd also like some of those bralettes you can wear so they're slightly visible if they exist in my size to accommodate busting out of some shirts. Not specifically interested in maternity bras and everything I've seen is super grandma-ish.

I feel your pain. I'm officially busting out of my newer vickies and dread having to go buy new ones. Especially after my friend said she went down sizes when she began breast feeding. Big boobed bras cost too much in my opinion. I'd like to rejoin the itty bitty titty committee please. I think Gordman's is a midwest store where I live, but I found some really nice maternity sports bra's there that weren't old lady looking and would work for after baby is here. I might check out Bravado, I've never heard of them. I'm just leary buying bras online, I feel like each bra fits so differently.

I agree - I have always used their nursing bras and they are the only ones that hold things up comfortably for me while giving a shape. Warners (for regular bras) work well; I feel like the cups are fuller without being "grandma-y."

@bdesterhouse I've always had pretty big boobs but VS sold my size and I could go to the small local mall and pick them up easily. I went up a cup size with my daughter and after nursing they regulated to that larger size and now they are even bigger. I saw a picture of myself and they were busting out the sides of my tank top and looked like weird armpit fat lumps. They are weird because they're not just up and out, they're wide and I have to kind of tuck my arms behind them so I really hope they go back down.

cantalopes24 Thats where I usually go, but I'm towards the larger size end that they carry. They are always picked through and so not a lot to choose from as far as colors/ styles go which is a bummer. Big boobed girls like lacey bras too.

Usually a 30GG; just went up to a 30HH, so I feel your pain. I love Fantasie, Freya, and Curvy Kate bras. I haven't dipped into non-underwire bras yet (spoiler alert: they don't come in my size), but I've heard good things about Le Mystere.

Wow I am so glad I have little boobs haha I'm normally a 36a and last pregnancy I went up to a 36b and was like "dude these are huge"

I did go back to normal size when my son was about a year old. I was still nursing too so not sure if that helped or not...

+1 on recommending Freya, im a 34ff & find their bras give a great shape & are prettier than a lot of bigger sized bras out there

@16isourluckynumber the name is because people used to call me that lmao. It was a reference to my last name and the fact that I was tiny and had huge out of place boobs in middle/high school. 14 year old boys are so clever.

@mommabean I mean technically you can get as small as a 28. But yeah. I'm a freak of nature. I'm not even a particularly small human! I'm very average-sized... perhaps even a little on the puffy side lately!

Speaking of boobs, have you found apparently pregnancy makes your boobs an appropriate topic of conversation? At work? It's happened to me twice in two work days! Both re: "have they gotten bigger?"

I talk about mine constantly to Hubs and keep flashing him to ask if they're getting huge.

my placenta is the topic of conversation at my workplace. I'd prefer it wasnt.

I ordered 2 maternity bras from Amazon that were on the cheap side but so comfortable...not sure how big they make them...one was a S-XL sizing and the other was up to a DD cup (also a nursing bra). But you can def check around to look specific for your size, they have alot of options. Mine aren't super huge, D cup, but they are so sore that I had to ban my underwire bras for now

I don't have really big boobs, but I will say Bravado has the BEST nursing bras!!!! I got just one after my last two pregnancies and wore it religiously because it was so comfortable and functional for nursing. They both have held up even after all of that, and I'm hoping I can maybe use them again!!

Again, I can't vouch for how well they work for larger chested ladies, but I bet pretty good. Target is prob worth checking out as well.

My #1 tip is to go to an actual lingerie/bra shop and get measured. I do not mean any of the regular shops in the mall or department stores...I mean stand-alone shops. You can find them on Yelp! Yes, you will pay more at this kind of shop, but it is SO WORTH IT. The bras are higher quality and they fit properly and are flattering. Your size will vary by manufacturer, but a real bra shop will know that if you wear a 36DD in Fantasie bras, you probably wear a 34F in Cleo/Panache (those are my sizes). Once you know your sizes (and please do buy bras from the store that helps you figure them out), you can shop for sales and discounts on Amazon and HerRoom (I've gotten $80 bras for $20 because they've discontinued a print!) My favorite brands are Fantasie and Cleo by Panache, but yours may be different, depending on what shape you like your breasts to take, whether you are between sizes in those manufacturers, and how sexy you like your undergarments to be.

Good advice from @amber_waves, although I'd add that many specialty shops do not actually measure, but fit you by putting you in a bra their approximate guess of your size and making adjustments based on how that bra looks. Don't be surprised if your fitter wants to see you in the bra she puts you in and make adjustments to the straps and band. A good fitter will also be able to guide you through the different fits across different brands.

Another consideration is that you will probably find that you have a preference in terms of bra style - some people like a soft cup, some people like padding, some people like formed cups. And some people prefer balconet cuts, while others prefer a plunge style, and still others like full-coverage. Some brands cut their straps wider on the shoulders than others. Some make a taller gore than others. There are so many different considerations that it really helps to try on styles until you find a few that you like. Then buy it and make sure you like it longer-term before you commit to the hassle of online ordering. Once you've got your preferences down, THEN you can start looking for deals online.

Yeah, all of this. Plus after you have the kid your boobs will be different, and if you nurse they will be different again once you stop.

I normally wear size 34H only can find that size at Dillard's. Starting buying size 36 to grow into...

Thanks for all the recommendations! There are no lingerie shops near me which is why I usually go to VS even though they carry like 2 bras in my size lol. I always get someone who's been there awhile and they come in the dressing room with me while I try on a million bras in different sizes. I used to shop at Fredrick's because they had a better variety but they went out of business locally. I'm going to order a couple different ones recommended and see what works. I'm rocking the sports bras until then.

I anticipate having to go through at least one more size when my milk comes - possibly even one more before then. I just don't care. It's worth it to me to spend a little money to feel supported. If you were hauling around HH boobs on a tiny ribcage like mine, you'd understand!

@PerraSucia please share with me the secrets of your sports bra success. The only sports bras I have that truly fit are giant monsters that compress my boobs up into my face. I have about a zillion stretchy bras from Old Navy and Target and Fabletics that I wear around the house and to run errands, but I wouldn't dare wear them to work. It would be downright vulgar in front of teenagers.

I have one sports bra I bought at American Eagle a few years ago that prevent the uniboob and keeps them from looking obscene. My mom bought me some but I can't remember from where that have an inner bra that kind of separates and an outer layer that zips that keeps them supported but not smooshed. I've been wearing those under racer bank style tanks and maxi dresses for the past couple weeks. It's been hot and it's so humid here it's nice not having a regular bra on. I can also tuck in the top of the panel on the couple pairs maternity shorts I've been wearing to keep it from rolling down. Actual clothes are too uncomfortable and my torso is apparently too short because my belly isn't big enough or something but the panel is like up to my boobs.

@NiceyMeany oh I pretty much have gnarly cleavage all the time. But I've been wearing the lululemon ones in a size 10 where in normal clothes I'm a 4-6 on top.

Nursing bras: I used target tanks for the first weeks for home. Bought one sized nursing bra for going out. Then at 2mos PP when I was going back to work got measured. I love soma nursing (and regular) bras.
