Medication to induce period after miscarriage?

Hi all! Quick question (I am out of the country for a few months, so I don't have a regular OBGYN to call with my questions so maybe one of you can help!). I saw a doctor 4 weeks post-miscarriage who offered to start me on a medication that would supposedly bring back my cycle in 2 weeks. I refused it. Well, now I am 9 weeks post miscarriage and still no period. Now I'm wishing I had asked more questions about the medication and possibly taken him up on the offer. Anyone know the name of the medication? And if so, would I be able to take it while breastfeeding without it hurting my supply? If yes, I think I will go to the effort of scheduling another appointment. It's just a pain in the butt to see a doctor where I'm at, so I wanted to have an idea about it first.

Hi, welcome to our world and so sorry for your loss. I don't have any experience with medication to bring on a period post-MC. If you are prescribed a medication to bring on your cycle I recommend the Infant Risk hotline through Texas Tech. They give research-based advice on what medications you can and can't take while breastfeeding. I've used them and they are awesome and give much more informed information than my OB or pediatrician.
