I had my miscarriage on 4/1 at 10 weeks along with the hopes of conceiving soon after. My next period started early May (so about a month). However, my next cycle was 53 days long and I'm currently on CD 44 with a BFN. I've taken OPKs sporadically and haven't seen any sign of ovulation. My doctors say it's all normal, but it really doesn't feel normal to me and I can't help feel something is off. I bought a BBT tonight and I plan on using it next cycle. I guess I wish my body would get back to normal so I can see a BFP! I'm trying to take this tie to learn patience, but I don't think I'm getting any good at it!
I'm right there with you. I had hoped in my heart of hearts that I would be pregnant before our baby's due date. Our daughter was due 9/1 which is also our 15th anniversary. It all seemed so perfect and miraculous. Now I'm really dreading it the closer and closer the day comes. Best of luck to you!!! I truly hope you get that BFP soon!
I am so sorry you are going through this. I am the worst at patience and I struggle with long cycles as well. I think buying a bbt is a great idea because it will help you know that you're at least ovulating. Hang in there!
It sucks having a longer cycle, and sucks even more waiting for your body to regulate itself after MC when you've no idea what's going on. @carterh33 Are you temping? Temping could help ease your mind in that you'd be able to wait for O and know when/if it occurred. @jwg9101 Sorry it's taking you a while. I was in the same boat a few months ago. I'd desperately wanted to be pregnant before my due date for my first MC and watched as that day went by (my birthday). It's stressful and sucks.

@carterh33 I am sorry for your loss. It's a common story here - the wonky, post-mc cycles. It's feels like just another kick while we're down, right?!
I am not a temper, but many here are. So if you want any advice on getting started, I am sure you'll find some helpful info. What were your cycles like pre-conception? Were they regular, predictable? Mine actually shortened just a bit. Bodies are weird.
Me: 40, DH: 35 / Married: 2009; TTC #1: 2013
2013 - 2015: 5 pregnancies —> 5 miscarriages
TTCAL with RE (RPL specialist): February 2016
2016: 3 medicated TI cycles —> 3 medicated IUI cycles: All BFN
@fivetimesnoluck my cycles preconception were closer to 30-32 days, but fairly regular/predictable. You're right, bodies are weird! It really does feel like a kick while I'm down
@dpjennifer I'm going to start temping next cycle so hopefully that will help me see if I'm ovulating
I am a temper, any questions you have I will be happy to help!

Thanks! I'm currently on CD 44 waiting for my AF so I'm not taking my temps now. I'm not the best at sleeping through the night and sleep with my mouth open. Does that affect your temp? Does fertility friend tell you when you ovulated? I use the ovia app right now and wanted to know if/how they compare.
I use the ovagraph app. It usually gives me crosshairs after I ovulate. So this charts are really a guide for you as an overall process. The most important sign for you to know when it's time for BD is EWCM. Do you usually get that? Or ovulatory pain?
if not, your charts will help you estimate your usual ovulation day, by observing the charts of the past 4 months for example.

It is a combination of things: -the temp rise that you see in past charts, helps you identify your most likely O day -EWCM is telling you ovulation is imminent -the position of your cervix: you can feel it with your fingers. It becomes soft and open around ovulation day. (It is usually firm like the tip of your nose, it becomes mushy with ovulation)
Try to observe these three things for a couple of cycles and see what they tell you.

Btw I learnt this with the book "taking charge of your fertility".
It helped me a lot in the understanding of my cycles.

TCOYF is a great book.....though I was surprised at the end they put the whole "here's how to try and have a girl or boy" thing, when there isn't a whole lot of science to back that up. 'Cause, ya know, science ;-) (But I think they put a disclaimer on that too).
i really liked the book, it is very educational and I was surprised to learn so much about my own body.
So far I've found their tips very helpful.

i did get pregnant very easily the 2 times we tried, following TCOYF ... my problem is with the staying pregnant part. I have found it useful even when facing my MMC or early signs when I had a CP the second time.

I'll have to check out that book! Since my cycles all over the place it would be good to understand my body regarding my cycles better and I'm always up for anything that increases my chances of getting a BFP!
Yeah @carterh33 totally check it out! It is not expensive for kindle :-) i learned a lot too and it is reassuring to know when you ovulate. Good luck!
