Painting?

Is anyone painting while pregnant? I have a couple of rooms I would like to get done... I understand it would be very important to have good ventilation and use the right paint type but I don't know if it is an absolute no-no or just a caution?

I don't see my doctor again until the 31st and was thinking of getting some more paint for different projects while it is on sale...

    almost all of the paints out there are low VOC which makes it safe while pregnant, just check before you buy it. Make sure there is ventilation, but the fumes in the low VOC paint aren't bad. We painted basically the whole interior of our house my last pregnancy without any issues whatsoever. Best to do it now because after baby is here there will be no time for that!

    You should be all good!! Like you said you already know: good ventilation and take breaks for fresh air and to kick up your feet!

    As pp's said. I painted the nursery for DS. Just made sure that the windowsame were open.

    I was always told during pregnancy to avoid paints with red pigment. (Reds, Browns,  oranges, some purples etc). I also waited until well into second tri before breaking out the paint. I was very nervous with my pregnancy with DD due to a previous loss so I steered with caution and bought the paint they recommended and made sure it had no pigments that should be avoided. ( light blue )

    Ditto everything the others have said. My OBGYN said its fine to paint but to wait to the second trimester if it made me feel better. I plan on painting a bunch of rooms also, but I'm in going to wait to the second trimester.

    @vino831 @Burrberrymum @Bok Bagok thank you all for your valuable input! I was going to wait until second tri (and hope we get a streak of nice weather or else it could be miserable).

    Good to know about the red pigment! I really like neutral colours so that shouldn't be an issue. :)
