Happy Monday Ladies!!
1: How was last week?
2: What goals are you setting for this week?
3: Rants, Raves, Questions, Randoms...
4: GTKY: What's one thing you hope your little one will get from you? And one thing you hope they'll get from your SO?
Feel free to check-in today with these usual questions--but also write throughout the week to say what work outs you're planning on doing, will do, or pictures you took. Whatever helps to keep you accountable!! No matter how much fitness you're accomplishing this first trimester- good for you for fighting for a fit pregnancy!!
Re: Fit mama check-in! 8/22
- this week I have three more training runs, and I want to do a HIT workout Wednesday and yoga again on Friday.
- I want this baby to have my athleticism ((my DH has none at all, poor guy)) And ... I want baby to get DH nose. I don't like mine
2. Plan to have the same goal this week!
3. I might miss my stroller strides class this morning because DD is still sleeping, but there is no way I plan to wake her up!
4. I hope my DD and this LO get my outgoing personality and want them to get my DH's metabolism and teeth (straight teeth with no braces for him)
1. Last week was better food wise. I had a salad a few times last week. I have had a major aversion to veggies so this is a win for me. I only went to the gym twice.
2. I am going to try to get to the gym at least 3 days this week.
3. None at the moment.
4. I hope this LO gets my laid back attitude and DH's sense of humor.
2. 3-4 workouts. I'm not making any food goals because I'm just eating what I can tolerate....mostly pasta or potatoes haha
3. It is cooling down here which is so nice!
4. DH's height and my love of reading.
1. Last week was one of the best weeks I've had in a while! I worked out 4x including 4 days of lifting and a little over 15mi on the treadmill. I started doing the Jamie Eason LiveFit Trainer program last week. I've done a few cycles of it over the last few years and have loved it! I also cleaned up my diet a ton and have been cooking lots more.
2. My plan for this week:
MON: CrossFit (Done!)
TUES: Cardio & LiveFit Training Chest/Triceps
WED: CrossFit & LiveFit Training Back/Biceps
THURS: Rest
FRI: CrossFit & LiveFit Training Legs
SAT: Cardio & LiveFit Training Shoulders/Abs
SUN: Rest
Food wise: to continue to eat clean and cook most of our meal at home
3. I don't have any rants at the moment. This Thursday, though, we have a Genetics Testing appointment. A little nervous about that.
4. My Hubby and I are both go-getters, so I hope our baby gets that as well! I also hope the baby gets my love for education & learning, and from my Hubby, his out-going personality and sense of humor. Physically, we both hope our baby gets my nose and my Hubby's lips, and a combination of our eyes (but my eyebrows, if the baby's a girl, LOL!)
- this week I hope to accomplish the same, hoping to eat a bit better though... already got my workout in this morning yay!
- I have zero energy or motivation in the afternoons/evenings and am soooo bloated by that point that I feel like my workouts aren't even benefiting me haha
- I hope our baby will share my love for all life & nature, and have my husband's laid back personality
I did end up waking my DD up this morning so I could go to stroller strides and I'm glad I did! It was a good cardio work-out today.
2: What goals are you setting for this week? Boot camp 2x and at least one day of tabata. All with pre pregnancy intensity! Now that I'm feeling a little better!
3: Rants, Raves, Questions, Randoms...
4: GTKY: What's one thing you hope your little one will get from you? And one thing you hope they'll get from your SO? My sense of humor... His selflessness, understanding, family-centered -ness, and gender I guess! We already have 2 girls :-)
2. I signed up for a 5k last week that is in October. I'm hoping this will motivate me to get back to running. I signed DH up too so he can help me keep on track. We shall see if that works.
3. All I want to do is sleep when I get home from work so exercising is the last thing on my mind. Of course, I have dinner to make and a 10 month old to chase after when I do get home and a husband who is at work 2 of those nights a week. I'm so ready for 2nd trimester to get here and hopefully get some energy back. Anyone else just feel so tired all the time?
4. Definitely hope this LO gets his daddy's laid-back personality. So far DS got it. Not sure what trait I'd want this LO to have of mine... is that bad?? lol
1: How was last week? I did crossfit 2x last week. Struggling with morning sickness and most days I just felt too queasy.
2: What goals are you setting for this week? I need to be better at taking my little moments when I don't feel nauseous, even if I get a 10 min window and just doing some leg or arm work with resistance bands or going for a walk. Because I never know until it's time to leave for my crossfit class if I will be able to do it or not. Aiming for 3x crossfit this week though! And little in between workouts when I can.
3: Rants, Raves, Questions, Randoms... anyone planning getting one of those running strollers? I'm not running right now, it feels uncomfortable but pre pregnancy I was a long distance runner. I've heard they are hard to get used to. I'm a FTM.
4: GTKY: What's one thing you hope your little one will get from you? And one thing you hope they'll get from your SO? I did IVF so even though I'm only 9 weeks I already know it's a boy. I hope he gets my husbands thick hair and charming smile and his laid back nature. Hope he gets my drive and my love of being active!
@kjd291 i am also considering investing in the double jogger. I know some of my other mommy friends who still just use the single and put both kiddos in it... how, not sure! My kiddos will be too close in age for me to ride with them like that. I guess I will consign the other or sell it so I can still get some money for it before getting the double.
@sgrant432 also good advice - thank you for your recommendation!
I followed through on my Mon & Tues workout plans (yippee!!!) but this morning decided to skip CrossFit so I could sleep in. Then hit the gym for 45min of Cardio, including a (slow) Treadmill 5k, followed by Back / Biceps. According to my bodyspace.com app I lifted 13k lbs today, 4k lbs yesterday, and 7k lbs on Monday. Yippeeeee!!!
Also as I was wrapping up my workout today my Mom texted me. I live in SoCal and she lives in Mass, so we like to send selfies to each other
This is is the pic
I took Monday as a rest day, Tuesday ran 4miler, and yesterday did an at home HIT workout. im trying not to freak out--after my run I felt some small contractions/--Ahhh!! I know this means I was pushing myself and just needed to slow down, they stopped once I drank some water and cooled down. But I'm scared this will keep me from running my 10k next month, but more importantly nervous that something will go wrong with baby. Don't want to stop working out, but obviously want to do what my body and baby needs.
@kjd291 I feel the same way!! It's so important to listen to our bodies, I know I overdid things Tues between running 5 miles, doing a few hours of yard work & then a few hours of walking dogs at the shelter I volunteer at - so I was completely drained by that evening.... felt some cramping feelings in the middle of the night & again yesterday (just rested yesterday outside of work) and this morning I feel like my bloat has diminished significantly so I'm a little worried about that but hopefully will be able to do some activity today without fearing the worst...
I also discovered this week that if I have to get a cerclage I won't be able to do any working out once it's in, sooo that has me a bit worried too as I'm high risk for potentially needing that procedure... praying that I won't though & hoping that my cervix is healthy enough to carry this LO full term without that!
@kjd291 i've noticed when i work out i feel the round ligament pains more than usual. it freaked me out at first until i realized what it was - but totally agree its so hard at this stage when the pregnancy is so new, it's hard to know how much is too much! i haven't felt anything like contractions though so far.
@serenity13 i had to look up with a cerlage is - i hope you don't end up needing it!
i have been doing pretty good this week - so far having the best week since the morning sickness kicked in full gear! monday i rested, tuesday i went to crossfit, and yesterday i went for a 3mi walk in the morning and went to crossfit in the evening. friday i plan to go to crossfit again and today hoping to sneak in some strength exercises here and there since i have a busy day. i have been feeling so bloated that running has felt uncomfortable, but i think i will get back to running at crossfit since we only ever run up to a mile total during a workout anyway if there is running involved. i will just run slooooooow.
and I have been told it's totally normal to have contractions post workout, and there's no need to be concerned unless they don't stop when you slow down. I think it's also because it's my second pregnancy. I've heard Braxton hicks can start this early the second time around--so I'm trying to not freak out.
Have a great night Everyone!!
I was thinking we should post muscle pics along with bump pics!
went for a run last night, but only did about a mile instead of my usual. and took it nice and slow because I still was a bit anxious about getting contractions. Yoga today!
I don't know how you ladies have energy in the evenings to work out, that's very impressive! I struggle with energy after a certain point every day haha
Thank you @cbeanz for the kind words ! And yes, you got in 2 workouts & lets def do muscle pics!!! WooHoo!! #FlexFriday anyone ??
PS Skipped CrossFit again today and instead a did a 15min 1:1 Treadmill Interval Run followed by Shoulders / Abs. I incorporated Cleans & Barbell Jerks into my workout, so I got a little CrossFit in
and I do not have energy in the evenings either!! I just kept up with night time running because I usually didn't feel nauseous any longer by late at night and it cools down outside a teeny bit. I'd much rather be climbing into bed!!
whats everyone planning for their weekends??
This weekend I hope to a walk/run to try to see how a little bit of running feels. I miss it!! It's finally cooling off here where I live on cape cod so I have to take advantage of the mornings. Starting to take Diclegis has made ALL the difference. I can function again in the morning!
