How far along? 26 weeks!! We are officially in double digits countdown- 97 days and counting!

What size is baby? the size of a head of kale.

Upcoming appointments? nada.

Rants/Raves/Questions? this weekend the little peanut was laying in the WORST spot ever. She was pressed against a nerve that when I moved I wanted to cry. I tried moving in different positions to get her to move and finally did, but man was that painful!

Symptoms/Aversions/Cravings? I feel like I am constantly hungry. I'll eat and be full and then 20 minutes later, I'll be starving. I keep trying to eat alot of healthy snacks in between but it does nothing.

GTKY: What is something you absolutely love about your SO? How are they preparing for the new LO? He has been FANTASTIC. I cannot ask for a better husband/father. He comes to every appointment- not because I ask him, but because he wants to and loves hearing her updates and heart beat. Every morning they have their one on one time together lol he talks to her or reads to her and she loves kicking him, which he absolutely adores. This morning we watched the what to expect weekly update and it mentioned you can poke your stomach when they start moving to interact with them. So I started to poke her because she was kicking and hes like "I DONT LIKE THIS!! WHAT IF HER HEAD IS THERE?! JUST STOP!" LOL it was really funny. I just can't wait to meet her and see their relationship grow

How far along? 25 weeks!

What size is baby? The Bump says cauliflower but given that last week was a cantaloupe, I feel like that's not right... but maybe the produce around here is not normal.

Upcoming appointments? Nothing planned until 9/9

Rants/Raves/Questions? Two complete noob questions that I could Google but haven't yet: When does the third trimester officially start? At what week is it no longer "too early" to go into labor?

Symptoms/Aversions/Cravings? I'm pretty uncomfortable in general, but no real cravings or aversions. Acne is still going strong too... no "glowing" here.

GTKY: What is something you absolutely love about your SO? How are they preparing for the new LO? So my husband is not super emotional, to say the least. For example, he felt the baby kicking the other day and was very "meh" about it. In sonograms, he cracks jokes about how the baby looks like Iron Man instead of being awestruck and teary eyed like I am. We're a bit of a yin and yang couple in that regard. However, he is planning to build us new living room furniture so he can move his office out of the nursery, which I find awesome. He is really good at building things and is an excellent planner. He's also super funny and I know he'll be a great dad. I'm really glad he'll have the baby girl he's always wanted

What size is baby?
A flaugnarde (what the hell is that?! Apparently a fruit dish baked in a pan), an American Guinea pig (which seems smaller than a pie pan), a water bottle, a corn on the cob, or the size of a standard hatchet head.

Nope, nothing until September.

Rants/Raves/Questions?
I'm still feeling pretty good pregnancy-wise. The RLP has diminished a lot. I have my energy back. No food aversions. I'm not even feeling super cramped with organs and baby yet. Now I'm starting to believe that I'll ride out this pregnancy in moderate comfort. FOOL! Last pregnancy, 3rd tri hit me like a mac truck. I hope it isn't as bad this time around, but I also know I need to savor this brief peace.

Symptoms/Aversions/Cravings?
Just a big stomach that strangers now feel comfortable commenting on...

GTKY: What is something you absolutely love about your SO? How are they preparing for the new LO?
He's a super lovey, sweet, feelings-y kind of guy, which is awesome. I never wonder whether he loves me because he says it so much. I had never had that in past relationships.

Neither of us is really doing anything to prepare for this one. Last time DH read several books for expectant dads, and he went to a daddy bootcamp also. He also attended more birthing classes than I did haha. This time, I think we know the general routine.

What size is baby? He is the size of a squishy, fluffy chinchilla!

Upcoming appointments? Not this week. I have an interview with a potential pediatrician next Tuesday. I've heard a lot of great things about her so I'm excited to meet her.

Rants/Raves/Questions? School year has started for DH, so I'm in go-mode! Have a lot to do before this behbeh gets here! Trying to find the best Thanksgiving packages for our babymoon and get that booked ASAP.

Symptoms/Aversions/Cravings? Still not too keen on grilled or pan fried chicken. :[

GTKY: What is something you absolutely love about your SO? How are they preparing for the new LO? This is a hard one--I think DH is the bee's knees. I would say that I love how attentive and giving he is--even before I got pregnant. He always asks how I'm doing, if he can get me anything, how I'm feeling, etc. He goes out of his way to make me feel special and loved.

He is preparing for Ashton by being as involved and excited as he can be! He talks to Ashton everyday, he never complains when he's building something for him, and he loves going to get stuff for him! The other day at Babies R Us we went to check out, and he was so excited he blurted out "We're having a baby!!" The cashier smiled but I think it's awesome he is so excited. He's going to be a great dad.

Note: this will be my last early Monday post for awhile, as I start a new position next Monday and until I get more into the roll and know my schedule, I am not sure that I'll be able to post until later in the day... I look forward to this one each week!

What size is baby? cantaloupe, garden eggplant, Atlantic puffin, G.I. Joe, and demi-baguette

Upcoming appointments? Tomorrow... 24-week appointment. I also get another U/S, as they were unable to get a good spine measurement last month.

Rants/Raves/Questions? A few friends over the weekend said they'd love to throw me a shower in October, so I am now trying to get my lists of "needs" together on a registry so I can decide if I just go with Target, or add in a couple other places too (Buy Buy Baby and Babies R Us). Plus, as some of my past posts have said... I am struggling to get answers from my SIL in what we're getting handed down, as I would like to NOT register for those things so I can focus on other stuff. Granted, some things I may not want depending on usage, etc, but for the most part... as long as they work and are still safe, most of it is probably just fine. And, I can give her it back when we're done (still debating on kid #2), so she can sell in a garage sale for money. We're seeing them tomorrow night, so I'll have to bring it up again.

Symptoms/Aversions/Cravings? I am constantly hungry. Even if I eat a big meal, not to the point of being super full, but enough... an hour later, I am starving again. And it's anything... salty, sweet, whatever. Yesterday, I made some lazy nachos (chips and cheese in the microwave) and that hit the spot for an afternoon snack. Constipation allows one BM a week, so that has been fun... even with using stool softeners. Sciatica nerve is still hanging around. Oh, and I think I noticed 3 red lines on my belly this morning in different spots, and hope they're not the start of stretch marks... which I know will eventually come. Time to lather on some more skin firming cream!

GTKY: What is something you absolutely love about your SO? How are they preparing for the new LO?
DH is not great with words in telling me how much he cares, but it's a lot more in what he does... which is his style. I've dated guys on both sides, and it's nice to have a little bit of both, but I can't force him to be something he is not. But one thing that made me fall for him was how easy it was to be around him, and how much of me being the silly dork that I am was 100% acceptable - I can be me (and he can be him), and we have a good time with it.

DH will be a great dad. He's great with his 4 nephews, and always has been. I know having your own child will be a little different, but just how he interacts with them, to me, is a great sign. To prepare, he's been doing little projects around the house now so that when the time gets close, we can focus more on baby stuff than this other stuff. Example, he just finished staining a bookshelf for me, so that it matched some other furniture in the basement, and turned out great. I did buy him a book geared towards Father's, but he has not read it... or at least I don't think he has.

Upcoming appointments?
Glucose Test next Monday.. The Dex drink is taunting me every time I open the fridge. Good news is I get to drink it and wait the hour at home. Bad news is they gave me fruit punch flavor and I detest all things fruit punch.

Rants/Raves/Questions?
I also have to rant about the pregnancy insomnia. For me though it's more of a middle of the night panic attack. I wake up suddenly nearly every night and think about how I am going to be a terrible mother.

Symptoms/Aversions/Cravings?
I'm craving all the soups, gravys, and dips I can get.

GTKY: What is something you absolutely love about your SO? How are they preparing for the new LO?
I could not be more happy with how DH is handling this pregnancy. My love language is gifting. I love giving and receiving gifts. Well each time DH comes home with a cute outfit or stuffed animal for little Ana my heart is just happy.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Last night, Ollie was literally drop kicking me at every chance he got. It made sleeping really challenging. Also... I JUST put up a new discussion with my question about iron levels. Help a sister out, if you can?

Symptoms/Aversions/Cravings? Everything. I want everything. Not even joking.

GTKY: What is something you absolutely love about your SO? How are they preparing for the new LO? My DH is one of the most patient and nurturing of guys....when it comes to his family. Otherwise, he can be quite an A-Hole, don't get me wrong.

But for us, he is tremendous. It comes as no shock to me how attentive and mindful he has been so far. All weekend, he spent time working on household projects that we need to accomplish, saying things like "You just rest and grow our boy. I got this stuff. It's the least I can do." As someone who initially did not want kids *I was there too for years* I AM shocked at how googly-eyed he gets when our son is mentioned. It's the sweetest thing I've ever witnessed. To hear him talk about the adventures they'll go on, what we will teach him, how he can't wait to see him in person, all of it just sends me into orbit. My heart is full.

Symptoms/Aversions/Cravings? I've had a craving for Gyro's and nacho cheese. Not together lol

GTKY: What is something you absolutely love about your SO? How are they preparing for the new LO?
DH is always so calm in random situations where I am not. That's always a plus because at least one of us is level headed. DH has put everything we've gotten for the baby so far together. He painted the majority of the nursery and he's wanting to build a toy box for LO but is unsure if he should just wait until he's a little older.

@ea301 - I believe 3rd trimester is 28 weeks. As for when is too early to deliver.. I know viability is 24 weeks, but ya wanna make it to at least 36 weeks if you can.

Upcoming appointments? Nothing until September. I did have an appointment on Thursday and everything was normal with my anatomy scan

Rants/Raves/Questions? I am really upset today DH needed to get his car inspected today and I knew he needed brakes. But I wasn't prepared for the $1300 of work needed to pass inspection. We don't have that just laying around. So I have been bummed about that

Symptoms/Aversions/Cravings? I really want sweets. I have been loving Popsicles lately

GTKY: What is something you absolutely love about your SO? How are they preparing for the new LO? I love how hardworking DH is. He works so hard at work then comes home and helps out around the house and with the kids. He works late and the kids are in bed before he gets home, but he helps with bedtime on his days off. He is not a real emotional guy so he hasn't really been too excited about this LO. BUT once the baby is here he loves the baby.

I'm doing pretty well overall. Some late 2nd, early 3rd tri sxs are starting but I'm just taking it a day at a time

I have the most amazing DH! He booked a trip Saturday to the Hillcountry for last night, just because. He is the absolute best dad to DS and is excited to add this little girl to our crew. He says she will make our family "nauseatingly perfect", lol

I feel like I could type a lot, but then have nothing of actual substance. Anyone else feeling these mood swings?

Symptoms/Aversions/Cravings?
I am loving the honey bunches of oats and a toasted blueberry bagel with peanut butter and jelly. Oh yeah, and also everything else in sight.

GTKY: What is something you absolutely love about your SO? How are they preparing for the new LO?
It's of course hard to pick one thing - but he's an incredibly selfless person and so very strong in his faith. I never realized how important mutual faith was until we met 4 years ago. It's nice that we enjoy each other's company so much that we spend every minute together on the weekend. Many couples we know go off and do other separate things, but we are always doing something together. I adore our friendship. He's been allowing me to go buy whatever I want (I'm probably the more conservative one) and really taking care of me. He's put up with a lot of mood swings Also, he audibly prays for a healthy little baby Maximus every day.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I LOVE feeling baby kicks! I'm sure it will be less fun the later we get, but right now- it's the best. Baby girl seems most active right after I wake up in the mornings. Lately, I've been getting up early to pee, then getting back in bed and letting DH feel her kick for a while. It's definitely getting hard to make myself leave for work on time. Who wouldn't rather stay and enjoy baby kicks, than go to work?

Symptoms/Aversions/Cravings? I've been getting random cravings a lot lately. It usually starts out as really wanting a certain flavor or texture of food, then I have to play 20 questions with myself to figure out what food item it is. Yesterday morning it turned out to be cinnamon rolls.

GTKY: What is something you absolutely love about your SO? How are they preparing for the new LO?

We've been married for 6 years now, and I feel like DH has really learned how to show me he cares. He's not naturally the most emotional person, but he's learned what's important to me and makes it a priority for himself as well. He's been doing more in the last couple of weeks to prep for baby. He spent Saturday sanding and painting a dresser in the 90 degree heat! That was very sweet. He has also been taking my hormonal moments very well. On Friday, I was super overheated, hungry, and hormonal, and may have actually told him he needed to sit a different way in his seat because I couldn't take it anymore! He took it like a champ- and I feel ridiculous and pregnant all over again...

What size is baby? -- Large mango, grapefruit, or papaya.

Upcoming appointments? -- Nothing this week. I have another ultrasound scheduled for the 31st. Because of the one cord artery they are wanting to take a closer look at his heart to make sure everything looks good.

Rants/Raves/Questions? -- Nothing really, this belly is starting to get in my way.

Symptoms/Aversions/Cravings? -- RLP, peeing all the time...

GTKY: What is something you absolutely love about your SO? How are they preparing for the new LO? -- I love that he is such a gentleman.

He's going to be a great father to our son. He is preparing by reading books and getting finances in order. This is a big change for the both of us!

@ea301 I remember the DR talking about labor and stated if you go into labor before 36 weeks they'll try and stop it if they can. They like the baby to stay in as long as possible at my OB office unless there's some sort medical issue. My friend's sister was pregnant with twins and I believe they induced her at 35 or 36 weeks.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Today I've been feeling dizzy all day, but eating and drinking tons of water. I don't know what the deal is so guess I'll call my doc.

Symptoms/Aversions/Cravings? This week I've been craving salmon, so DH bought it special and made it for us. Also, chocolate milk - all the time!

GTKY: What is something you absolutely love about your SO? How are they preparing for the new LO? DH is really good at chores - his love language is acts of service, so shiz gets done around here. He is also really good lately at putting up with my mood swings. I don't know what advice/book he read but he's being great and saying the right things. (I'm the words/affirmations language, can you tell?) He's reading The Birth Partner and taking classes with me when he can. He's going to put together nursery furniture, too.

GTKY: What is something you absolutely love about your SO? How are they preparing for the new LO?Hubby and I are fortunate to have a really great relationship. Even when we don't see eye to eye we usually talk it out and it rarely becomes an argument. Baby isn't quite as real for him as she is for me, but he saw our anatomy scan and called her skeletor
