How far along are you? What's new with your little babe? 21 weeks! Baby must've gone through a growth spurt this past week, because little kicks that used to feel like tiny taps and flicks now feel like proper, legit kicks, sometimes even like flips/that feeling your stomach gets on a roller coaster. Crazy.
Have you done anything this week to prepare for the baby? I was just on vacation with some friends who have babies and they gave me tips on some things to register for... so I've officially started our registry!
Rants/Raves/Questions/Symptoms: I just spent the week at 8,000 ft. altitude and did some hikes up to almost 12k feet (I listened to my body and took it easy when needed!) and apparently the altitude change pushed out my bump like WOAH! It was a pretty crazy transformation since I didn't have a bump before. Now that I'm back to my normal altitude, the bump has shrunk quite a bit, but it's still kind of popping out. Really disliking this thick in the middle stage, though, and want a proper, rounded bump.
When's your next appointment? Friday! So excited for our A/S and trying not to stress that I had to push it back to almost 22 weeks.
GTKY: Are you having a baby shower? When is it going to be? Yep! Two showers... one in mid-Nov. with friends (a couples shower, so fun) and then one with all of my mom's friends Thanksgiving weekend (busy weekend, but family will be in town then). Between the showers and my sister just having a baby, I'm really hoping I won't need to spend much on the remaining items we need.
How far along are you? What's new with your little babe? 17 weeks. Have you done anything this week to prepare for the baby? Just more hospital visits this past week. We have one more this week and then we'll decide which one to go with. Rants/Raves/Questions/Symptoms: I'm flying back to the US in a week and a half for 15 days, and I feel like there's so much to do before we leave. I want to start packing now, but that's a little too extreme. When's your next appointment? August 31st for a quick check up before I leave. Anatomy scan isn't until October 5th at 23+3 because of my vacation and then the doctor's vacation. GTKY: Are you having a baby shower? When is it going to be?
My stepmother and best friend both independently offered to host one for me (and I greatly appreciate the offers), but I'm really not interested in having a shower given our current living arrangements. We're trying to keep excess baby things to a minimum the first 6 months since we'll still be in Germany in a one bedroom apartment, and having a shower, here or at home, would just mean serious over-crowding. Added bonus of not having a shower: I get to avoid the multitude of gendered outfits I would almost certainly get from family members.
How far along are you? What's new with your little babe? 19 weeks! DH was able to feel the baby move twice this week so that's exciting.
Have you done anything this week to prepare for the baby? we are in remodeling mode in our basement, which is where our bedroom will soon be located. Because of some unforeseen issues, our timeline is "hopefully by January". So getting the nursery ready is not even on my mind (we will cosleep/room share initially anyway)--I just want my bedroom done!
Rants/Raves/Questions/Symptoms: Starting to have a bit of heartburn but really I am in that sweet spot of the second tri right now. My worst complaints are a couple of pimples, constant hunger, and people telling me I'm not really showing yet (...I am dammit!)
When's your next appointment? Tuesday is our anatomy scan with a local OB and I need to set up an appt later in the week /early next week to see my MW again.
GTKY: Are you having a baby shower? When is it going to be? I think so...I'm not a huge fan of being the center of attention AND this is #3 for me. But it's also DHs 1st and none of our friends were around for the first two babies. But my BFF has offered so i think we'll be doing a small couples shower, just 16 or so people total, in mid November.
Most of my (small) family is local and I think we decided that instead of them feeling obligated to buy baby gifts near Christmas, we can have a small get together mid February for everyone to meet the baby and give a small gift then if they choose.
DD1 (2008) DD2 (2010), #3 (DH's first bio kid) on the way in January 2017! Almost always mobile bumping--forgive my typos.
21 weeks! And they're getting big. According to my massive belly. (Holy cow!)
I spent this weekend tiling the master bath, prepping walls for tile and paint (in the bath and nursery closet), finished the last of the flooring in the nursery and finishing up odd jobs around the house
Rant- holy effing heartburn!! Also I worked my ass off all weekend and now I feel like I was hit by a truck- my stamina is SO low it's such a buzzkill. I haven't slept all night in weeks and really hope this weekend's work helps me get a solid 8 tonight. But I'm loving feeling babies kick!!!
8/30 fetal echocardiogram & growth scan!
We are having a shower, I think the first weekend of October! My mom & sister are planning it and we're doing it super early because I'm probably going to be immobile not long after that- I'm seriously huge right now (measuring at least 28 weeks) and I'm terrified of what November will look like
@ceclarlinetlo omg the dreams are so vivid! Do you have nightmares too? I'm scared to sleep because they are so bad. My anatomy scan is tomorrow too. Good luck to you.
20 weeks. This gal kicks. For 5 weeks now....its been constant.
Preparation: I bought her a Minnie Mouse onesie. My daughter LOVES Minnie so I felt it would help get her involved.
Appointments. My anatomy scan is tomorrow. So so so nervous, and I had a sneak peak telling me the baby was female, but I still think she could be a boy.
@thepax89 yes! Their awful - my husband had to shake me awake this morning because I was hyperventilating in my sleep. I hope they stop after our AS. Fx for you tomorrow!!
21 weeks here! (Maybe 21+2 depending on a/s...) Started to feel regular kicks on Friday and now they are happening all the time. Flips, little punches, kicks... I LOVE IT. My husband felt our little guy on Saturday, and it was so special to be able to share something tangible with him (other than mood wings and vomiting). I love that we are just beginning this journey together.
Prep: thanks to several ladies on the bump giving credit to Rugs USA, we have picked a rug and color palette for the nursery!
Rave: Best weekend ever. Kicked things off on Friday afternoon by watching our son dance across the monitor for 45 minutes and the perfection kept going.
Next appointment is September 19 -- at 25 weeks because I'll be out of the state for work at 24.
Not sure yet about the shower. I've moved around A LOT in the last 7 years -- most recently to a different state only 5 months ago. So, that makes a shower a little tricky. I've had a few people offer though, which is lovely of them. We'll see what works out!
@ceclarlinetlo I had the vivid dreams about a week ago. It was 6 or 7 nights In a row and soooooo not restful. It seems to have calmed down for now for me. Hopefully it won't keep going! my last bad night included a dream where I was trying to collect evidence against a mobster to get him thrown in jail but he wanted to kill me. And my husband kept grabbing my butt while I was testify in court.
DD1 (2008) DD2 (2010), #3 (DH's first bio kid) on the way in January 2017! Almost always mobile bumping--forgive my typos.
My H keeps having really vivid and disturbing dreams but not I. Maybe I've somehow transferred this symptom onto him?? Lol I don't mind (sorry H but.... not sorry)
@TinaBelcher my H's step father claims he had "sympathetic" morning sickness the entire first trimester when H's mom was pregnant... so it's possible! (even though I laugh more than I actually believe him)
Also so my dream last night was quite mild in comparison - all I had to do was collect a bunch of turtle eggs and help them hatch. I was freaked out about having a bunch of turtles crawling around every where but that's a much more mild anxiety than dreaming about my husband abandoning me in a jungle during a tornado or the other worse dreams I've had.
21 weeks!!! Starting to feel movement more regularly.
Started cleaning out baby girl's room and now its time for new carpet and paint
I would just like to stop peeing my pants overtime I cough or sneeze. haha.. guess this is the new norm!
Next appt isn't until Sept 8. Boo!
I am having 2 showers.. one big one that includes friends, mom's side of the family, in law's family, and church friends... Oct 9th and then my dad's side of the family at the end of October.
