Let's talk convertible seats

We are in the shopping process of a convertible seat for Damien. In the state of PA they just changed the law to where you must rear face until 2. This works for us since we were planning on keeping him rear facing longer anyways. But so far we're looking at these three seats...any opinions??

Were open to other options these are just ones we found.

Re: Let's talk convertible seats

  • We went with the Graco Size4me 65. I just looked at consumer reports rating and reviews to decide. She's been in it in my car for about a month and she really seems to like it. She still sits in her infant seat in SO's car. It has a quick remove cover that can be thrown in the washer and the easy adjust to move the headrest and straps at the same time. There were some other reasons I went with it but I can't remember them right now. We went ahead and installed this one before we needed to so that we can see if we want anything different for the other car.

  • We have a Graco for DD1. I have no idea which style but it converts and all that. We'll get the same for this babe too.
  • We have the chicco nextfit and the britax Boulevard clicktight. I think both have pros and cons.
The britax did not fit in my small car so it's in my husbands truck, it was also more difficult to install. I like that it clicks to let you know the straps are tight enough.
The chicco was super easy to install and the cover zips of to be easily cleaned. It is harder to tighten the straps and that's really my only complaint.

We have that exact same car seat!  He's been in it over 2 months and I love it!  Little guy is pretty tall (30.5" at 10 months) and fits comfortably in it.

    1. We bought the peg perego SIP 5-65 convertibles (one for each vehicle) and LOVE it, so much so that we bought a second!  Only downfall is that they don't convert into a booster.  Good rear facing to 45lbs and forward to 65.  Great seat!  Super easy to adjust and looks so comfy.  My son loves his.  He's been in it since 6 months old.

  • We have evenflo symphony in both our cars now and love. Lots of protection and goes from 4lbs to booster
  • We have the Graco Contender 65
  • We have the britax advocate and I love it, but it's huge. It was very well rated on consumer reports.
  • Thank you all for the recommendations! Now we have a lot to debate about lol
  • We bought the Graco Extend2Fit at Buy Buy Baby: https://www.buybuybaby.com/store/product/graco-reg-extend2fit-trade-convertible-car-seat-in-kenzie/1045808265?Keyword=extend2fit. We ended up getting it for like $150 because it was on sale. I can say it's pretty sturdy. It's a little on the heavy side but it's not unmanageable. Regan seems to like it and it's sooooo easy for her to fall to sleep in; it's so comfortable. i just wish it had a core temperature component that kept her cool/warm when necessary.
