How far along are you? What's new with baby?

17 weeks!! Her heart is now being regulated by her brain (what was regulating it before that...??)

Have you done anything this week to prepare for baby?

I have been consulting with my SIL (who is a designer for high end homes) trying to find the right color of gray for the nursery. Gray is SO hard!

I am just surprised by how many weird pains and sensations I feel on a regular basis. I can only imagine that it will increase as she grows!

When's your next appointment?

Next Wednesday for my every 2 week appointment with MFM

GTKY: If you could be an top athlete and compete in the summer Olympics, what event would you want to be a bad ass in? What about the winter Olympics?

For Summer I would go with 10m diving. It looks so scary and fun all at the same time! For winter I would go with the Biathlon (cross country/skate skiing and target shooting) I would imagine that it would be really hard to be steady with a gun so it seems like a real challenge!

20 weeks - halfway there! Baby is the size of a banana!

Have you done anything this week to prepare for baby?

Scheduled a consultation with a doula, taking a second look at some furniture we like, and touring 3 daycares tomorrow!

Rant: My husband and I really can not agree on what we want to do about a gender reveal. We initially discussed having a party, which he still wants to do, but at this point I'm feeling very MEH about planning a party.

OMG - TODAY! We find out the sex at 3:00 and I literally can't wait!

For summer, gymnastics for sure. Probably the vault or uneven bars. I am so in awe of what those girls can do! For winter, I'd say figure skating, mainly because what they do is so graceful and beautiful!

How far along are you? What's new with baby?
18 weeks. Baby is said to be the size of a sweet potato or artichoke. No major changes or updates right now, heartbeat is fast and strong on our doppler and I feel baby occasionally moving now.

Have you done anything this week to prepare for baby?
I went to Target on Tuesday for my birthday, it's a 45 minute drive from our new house in AL and it was a treat to have my Target and Starbucks fill! I got to look at a lot of the items from my registry in person for the first time which resulted in me deleting and switching out a ton of stuff! Hubby and I are going to make the drive back into town this weekend to see more at Babies R Us just to be safe! LOL!

Rants / raves / questions / symptoms:
Rant: Very frustrated with all the bias when it comes to info on pregnancy and baby. Seems its hard to find a straight answer about ANYTHING! Just choosing products for a registry or looking up simple questions about baby care is overwhelming and exhausting. I try to rely on veteran moms (ie my mom) but seems all the old school stuff is either null and void or a sin against humanity these days.
Symptoms: Still tired, way hungrier lately, and painfully gassy!

Summer Rhythmic Gymnastics and Winter would be Figure Skating! I love performing!

17 weeks! Cartilage is now turning to bone!
Have you done anything this week to prepare for baby?
Do figuring out a baby shower date and scheduling my maternity shoot count?!
Rants / raves / questions / symptoms:
I second all the weird pains and sensations. Still feel nauseous and gaggy late afternoon into evening. Have NOT been blessed with 2nd trimester energy. And am always hungry.
When's your next appointment?

Aug 22nd elective sono so gender can be determined! (Dr did not want to do one earlier than 20weeks. Since we will have lots of family in town for labor day we want to do gender reveal then!)

Summer probably gymnastics. And winter figure skating

19 weeks today, almost halfway there! Baby is the size of a mango apparently but i don't know where he's hiding???

Have you done anything this week to prepare for baby?

Still decorating the nursery in my head, we just got approved for our home loan so we should be moving soon! Crazy excited but furnishing a house and a nursery and having a baby all at once... o my head!!

Rants / raves / questions / symptoms:
I've been having crazy food aversions and all I want is cereal, poptarts and ice cream! It's hard to eat good food when I have no desire but I'm really trying!! Also, the top of my left thigh has been numb for about a week, not sure if the baby is on a nerve or what but it's really weird!

When's your next appointment?

Tomorrow! Meeting with my midwife for a checkup. Was supposed to have another ultrasound because once again baby wouldn't cooperate at our appt last week but they suggested I wait another week for my upside down, curled up baby to change positions! SO STUBBORN!!!

Summer probably swimming and winter I have no clue? I'm not very athletic so its a tough one!

How far along are you? 18 wks What's new with baby? baby's twisting, rolling, punching and kicking too-and is big enough that you might be able to feel him or her doing it!

Baby's about 5.6 inches long and about 6.7 ounces now and keeps on growing rapidly. (That's why you're probably feeling so hungry.)

Have you done anything this week to prepare for baby? Just researched items for my registry

19 weeks! I've been feeling the baby moving a lot more the past few days.

Have you done anything this week to prepare for baby?

On vacation this week so not much. Will start making a plan for the nursery and also the hall bath reno when we get back next week.

Rants / raves / questions / symptoms:
I've been having pain in my right rear hip/glute. Not sure if it's sciatica because it doesn't normally radiate down my leg, but it can be extremely painful at times. Especially after bending over or walking long distances.

8/25 for 20 week ultrasound with MFM

Hmm not sure about summer. Definitely skiing in winter.
