I'm a loser- cervix question

So I am cd 23 and am not real sure about this cycle so I decided to start checking my cervics and temping vaginally this next cycle. It was my first cycle on clomid ( unmonitored other than cd 21, big mistake I know! It won't happen again) and I only did opks and never got a positive. Did blood work cd 22 and get results tomorrow, but not super hopeful. Anyways I have never checked my cervix before, but wanted to have a grasp on it before next cycle starts. So my cervics are very low and super hard. Is this normal at this point? I looked it up and answers are here and there! After 3.5 ttc you think I would be a pro at this, but I guess I held off hoping I would cause myself less stress.... Yea that didn't happen!

Re: I'm a loser- cervix question

  • Hey there! I'm also terrible at cervix stuff, no real clue on where it should be and when. I've heard low and hard is before AF, high and soft (open) is ovulation and (closed) pregnancy. I try to check it, but frankly, no matter how many diagrams/videos/explanations I look at, I have no clue what I'm feeling. Hey, its the effort that counts right? I'm also on my first round of clomid- I ovulate by myself, so my OB prescribed it, it will be unmonitored, until my first RE appointment September 22 if I don't get a BFP. Sorry if I wasn't much help, but I didn't want to read and run! :)

  • Thanks, I am glad I am not the only one struggling to know what I am feeling! Fx for you!
  • I highly recommends that you ladies make sure you are properly monitored on chlomid by an RE.  Often, ovulation does not occur on day 14 (naturally or with chlomid) so the day 21/22 blood work doesn't really mean anything.  I ovulated around day 19 when I was on it.  Do yourselves a favor and don't waste the time going unmonitored!

Me: 33, DH: 39   Unexplained Infertility

4 IUIs (chlomid) in 2013 which resulted in DS born in April 2014

    TTC #2 since August 2015

5 rounds of IUIs (1 chlomid: resistent, 1 femara, 3 gonal f) = all BFN

ER March 9: 26 eggs retrieved, 19 mature and 17 fertilized, 8 made it to genetic testing, 4 normal!

    FET #1 5/31 = BFN

    FET#2 7/26 = BFP!

  • I second this. My Clomid IUI cycles had trigger shots, bloodwork and ultrasound monitoring. My first cycle I ovulated on cd 17 which surprised me RE. My non medicated cycles I usually ovulate between cd 19-cd 25.
  • I skipped this last cycle and made an appointment with a RE. My doctor was unconcerned about my concerns and I did not want to go that route.
  • There was a really detailed thread about this on the TTGP board. I'm on mobile otherwise I would find and link. I think the trick with monitoring cervix position is that you have to do it consistently cuz it's partially about comparing where you are on different cycle days.  That's why they recommend doing it at the same time each day and not checking multiple times a day.
