How are you feeling? achy, tired, and nervous about my impending c/section and all that goes with that.
Upcoming appointments? I have one this morning. Have another u/s to make sure she is still breech (she is) and discussing how long I can stay pregnant with a breech baby. Hopefully he will say I can go to the day before my due date. Wish me luck!
Rants/Raves/Questions: Has anyone else struggled with accepting a c/s birth? After having such an unremarkable vaginal birth with my first, this has been very difficult for me to come to terms with.
GTKY: What are you looking outward to this week? Spending time together for our (possibly) final weekend as a family of three. All the feelings. :'(
@TheTamedShrew - so sorry to hear baby girl is still breech At least she's totally comfy in there just chilling in what she thinks is the perfect spot- totally oblivious to all the stress she's causing her mama! Fingers crossed they'll let you keep cooking until the day before your due date! Let us know!
How far along? 37 weeks
What size is baby? Romaine lettuce or skunk? both weird.
How are you feeling? So tired! My back is definitely aching every night now.
Upcoming
appointments? Tomorrow for 37 week appointment and either a NST or BPP I'm not totally clear what's going on with this appointment. Have my fingers crossed for a negative strep test...I'm nervous to find out!
Rants/Raves/Questions: I really don't think I'm having any BH contractions? Am I totally missing out on something everyone else is having? I'm also feeling baby girl move around less and less...I know it's normal but it still worries me.
GTKY:
What are you looking outward to this week? LAST WEEK OF WORK!!!!!!!!!!!
How are you feeling? I just want some sleep!! My hips hurt so bad at night that I'm flipping from side to side like 20 times a night!! Then my hips and legs hurt the rest of the day and I'm so tired and I have a headache
Upcoming appointments? Friday for 34 week appointment
Rants/Raves/Questions: Is anyone thinking of (or have in the past) laboring in water and possibly giving birth in water? The more I hear about it the more interested I am.
GTKY: What are you looking forward to this week? Napping, hopefully finding a bookshelf for baby and getting things organized.
What size is baby? Pineapple. Feels like a bushel of them!
How are you feeling? Ughhhhhh I am OVER it today! BH, terrible heartburn is back (so much for pepsid), carpal tunnel, achey, can't sleep, etc. etc....I don't need to tell you ladies, you know what I'm going through.
Upcoming appointments? Friday. I'm down to once a week because they are monitoring swelling. So far so good though.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I have a breastfeeding class tomorrow night, was tempted to skip it.....but we should probably go right? Did y'all do it and did it help?
GTKY: What are you looking forward to this week? The biggest thing was my prenatal massage. had it yesterday and it was GLORIOUS! I might get another before the 5 weeks is up.
What size is baby? Lettuce...these fruits and vegetable sizes make no sense haha
How are you feeling? Really tired, been having pretty painful contractions on and off since last Thursday. They never get terribly regular though and get better if I rest. I am also still really swollen all over which is uncomfortable!
Upcoming appointments? Monday! My OB will be checking me. I was checked a couple weeks ago with my GBS swab and I was 80 percent effaced and his head was very low. Wasn't dilated at that point--I'm curious to see if I am this coming week with all these contractions. Even though I know it doesn't really mean anything, it would be nice to know that the contractions are actually doing something productive!
Rants/Raves/Questions: None
GTKY: What are you looking forward to this week? Sunday we are going with my parents to the Cheesecake Factory to do an early bday celebration for DS1 and me. I am looking forward to cheesecake and to having the servers sing Happy Birthday to my son--I think he will love it. Before dinner on Sunday I am going for a haircut and mani/pedi. I can't wait and I keep telling baby he has to stay in until I get my pampering/cheesecake day in haha

Not this time. I really struggled with my first one which ended up being emergency. She was tiny and all they could conclude was my hips just are not wide enough. This time I thought about trying it, particularly if I went into labor. However since it seems this baby is going to prob be somewhere in the 9 pound area no thanks. I also wasn't able to nurse my first so decided to go csection route and hope I won't be so hard on myself if I fail at nursing again as well
@TheTamedShrew I know it's easier said than done but try not to be nervous about the csection. I've had the opposite problem and am freaked out by a vaginal birth (DD was a section).
@katiey23 Yay for the last week of work! Same with the never having or feeling BH and feeling less big movements. He's doing so much more squirming and stretching. When he stretches I get all excited thinking I might finally be feeling a BH but, nope, it's just body parts that stick out then retract.
@AmMcc12 laboring in water seems like it would be a great experience. Haven't and won't get to but the idea seems awesome. Does your hospital have tubs? Ours only has teeny, tiny showers
@jbscmama yes to the BFing class. It was very helpful. They had us bring a doll to practice positioning and different holds, they explained the process and timeline for milk coming in, the signs to look for to see if babe is getting enough milk or not. Hopefully you can make it to yours.
@asht I'm looking forward to the planned csection too for that same reason. I would imagine the recovery will be so much easier than before having labored for so long.
How far along? 34 weeks
What size is baby? Big!
How are you feeling? Hanging in there. Hip pain in bed, tired from waking up every hour, hormonal (fluctuates from cranky to crying), and the kid feels super heavy and sitting very low.
Upcoming appointments? Tomorrow
Rants/Raves/Questions:
GTKY: What are you looking forward to this week? The weekend! Mostly because I'm really missing DH during the day. Since I'm not working anymore I'm doing the stay-at-home thing and trying to keep up with things around the house. And I just miss him. Definitely in the clingy pregnancy stage.
@AmMcc12- I'm super interested in laboring in water! Every birth story I read makes it seem like the best! Our hospital has big showers in ever L&D room but only a few have baths so it's luck of the draw.
@jbscmama- I wasn't super thrilled with the BF I took. It was mostly power point slides about the benefits of BF'ing and then we passed around these creepy dolls and practiced BF'ing positions. I think I would have been fine skipping it, but I'm sure every class and instructor is different so go if you're feeling it, but I wouldn't feel bad if you'd rather crash on your sofa.
@sunshinern96- that sounds like heaven! I freaking love the Cheesecake Factory!
@ajn092- So glad I'm not the only Braxton-Hickless pregnant lady! I agree every baby movement I'm like maybe this is it?! Nopeeee....I'm also feeling you about being clingier than normal...it's so weird how it just happens overnight!
@TheTamedShrew I saw on the appointments thread that your c/s is scheduled for next Friday! I'm sorry that you are struggling with this, but try to remember that you are doing what is best for baby and unfortunately some things are just out if our control
@jbscmama I went to the first session of a two part BF class on Tuesday and I found it informational. We discussed proper latch, hand expression, and holds (first two week stuff). Next week we talk about continuing milk supply, returning to work and other topics. I guess I'm saying that I would recommend going.
@sunshinern96 Cheesecake Factory sounds amazing! Hope you enjoy all the pampering!
RE: laboring in water. Our hospital has a tub in every room and if eligible you can sign up for a birthing tub to be brought in. I'm really leaning towards this because I've heard hydrotherapy really helps with labor
