Lingering stye/ looming surgery

Hi, I am hoping to find someone whose little one has experienced this:
DD, who is 27 months, has had a stye that will not go away on her lower lid for about 3 months now.  First we went to her pedi who prescribed warm compresses and Ertho ointment ( antibiotic for the eye).  Stye didn't go away.  We got a referral for a pediatric ophthalmologist, went there, and got prescribed steroid ointment.  It helped a little but now we are in the 2nd tube of it and I'm pretty sure it's not going to clear it up.  We have surgery scheduled to get it lanced in a few weeks.  This means she will have to be put under, which scares me, of course.
Has anyone else had a similar experience or does anyone know of any other treatment we could try to get rid of this?  I can't believe a stye is causing us this much headache; I've never dealt w something so resistant to treatment.

  • My daughter had a stye on her under and upper lid. We tried so many ointments and drops. It did nothing. She did undergo surgery at 2 years old. We had it done at children's Hosp. Yes, very scary but it was a must. They can get larger. She did amazing and hasn't had one since. She's 5 now. Any more ?s just message me Hun.
