@AllyTheKid please tell me this is just a picture you came across and not one you had to take cause if you did, how did you not throttle the woman who calls herself a mom?!
One of my friends posted it on IG, I don't even know what I'd do if I saw that in RL. @LauraPCOS Like... is your phone seriously a priority over your infant?
WTF doctor...she told me the new hospital is opening Oct 1 and to schedule an L&D tour...called said new hospital, and the lady actually laughed at me and said, "Nope, that's not true. Who knows when we'll be opening."
WTFFFFF I don't want to have to drive an hour+ without traffic to give birth. I'm so pissed right now. Anyone else with a long drive to their L&D hospital?

Boo to this.
I'm supposed to go to my local hospital...but the one 1.5 hr south of me is WAY better and I always toy with the idea of staying with my in laws once I get nearer my due date so I can go there instead.

I have a hospital 2 minutes from me, but they aren't as equipped for preemies as the one 25 min from me. I will probably try and deliver at the one 25 min away from me where my MFM delivers even though it's in GA and I'm in SC, and even though it is apparently not politically correct. My OB has basically done nothing and I'd rather her not be the one to deliver me.
@SpaceBurger Our hospital is an hour away. We started going there before we bought our house and it was a lot closer then, but it's still the closest to our house now. I brought it up with our midwives and they said that it should be fine.

We have a hospital closer to use and I choose to go into the city. We've made it there in 40 minutes (luckily my water broke with DS1 at like 10pm and the two emergencies we've had happen so far happened at 2am) but it can take like well over an hour and a half to get there during high traffic times. We have a planned csection so that's a plus... Although I had a planned csection with DS1 and that didn't go as planned- he was early!
@sjo_thetwins are you a planned induction or c section? Can your doctor deliver at the one further away where the good NICU is? Do you know if you delivered at the one close to you if they would transport the babies to the other hospital? Sorry for the 21 questions. You can WTF me!
@serenaxo84 not a planned induction or c-section. Our Doctor practices in SC, so cannot deliver at the one farther away in GA, which I'm okay with, since she hasn't seen the babies on an ultrasound once this entire pregnancy, let alone really done much at all. I haven't told her I don't plan on delivering with her and I basically just asked my MFM if his hospital would take me if I happened to walk in, in labor. That's where we were at for L&D the first time I went into labor with the girls so we are comfortable with that hospital. Not to mention, the children's hospital of Georgia is in the same building. If we delivered before 36 weeks at the one close to us in SC, and something was wrong with either of the babies, they would most likely transport to the one I want to deliver at anyway. If we delivered before 34 weeks, they would send us to the one in GA as well. The pediatrician we picked also recommended just going straight to GA and not chancing it. I'll take the longer car ride and the side eye from my OB over taking any chances at that hospital, regardless of when I go into labor.
I almost feel bad for even saying this but WTF to my dad. I called him today after my dr appointment to tell him everthing is going good and to tell him that we have an induction date. this gives him 7 weeks to prepare. He tells me that he and my brother will not be coming. Granted they live two states away, but this is 7 weeks of notice. I'm naming my child after you. This is your first grandson. Wtf. Why can't you make it.

That's great you already have had a positive experience there! And that your MFM Doctor is there! I would take the side eye too! I'm shocked your OB isn't more involved- as I am sure that can be stressful!
I'm so sorry @AshleyGemini24 that is really crappy. My MIL will most likely be in Ireland, so I kind of know how you feel, although it isn't my direct family. Don't feel bad for being upset about that, I think it's totally valid.
@SpaceBurger we are an hour away from our hospital this time. We switched from the one I delivered dd which was 45 minutes away. That is the only upside of having had a schedule induction. My dh's aunt keeps offering her camper once it gets close so I can camp out by the hospital... Uh no thanks. I don't want to be an hour away, but I'll manage. And if I am having feelings like it's going to be soon there is a hotel directly in front of the hospital I'd stay at. No way am I staying in her pop up camper 9 months pregnant waiting to give birth.
WTF commute. My mom's in town so of course it's taking twice as long as it usually does. I just wanna get home and hang out. On the bright side, at least I'm on the right bus this time unlike my snafu last week.
This baby just better not come during traffic because it's 1 hour 45 minutes hahaha. Oh geez I'm going to be one of those people giving birth in the backseat. Guess I better throw some towels back there.....
My petty WTF is to my BRU, who says they don't honor BBB coupons. Erg.
My actual WTF is to my dad. He also happens to be in my HR department at work, so I was talking to him today about my leave. While talking, he says "Oh, I saw a picture of a cake on Facebook, did you have your shower thing this weekend?" He knows damn well I did. I invited him on Facebook, and Facebook let me know he opened the invitation. He emceed/DJ-ed a rib off out at his boat marina instead. He didn't ask how it went, he didn't ask me if we got everything we need or if there was something he could help out with, he just said "Yea, I haven't been on Facebook much this weekend, but I saw that" and moved on. Um? Thank you Dad for again putting my family events on the back burner for your marina events.
Countdown to Baby H! Mommy to Elizabeth (6/18/09), preemie at 34 weeks
WTF to my air conditioner which gave out AGAIN. On the plus, we have all the window units installed still and it's been rainy and overcast and so not as surface-of-the-sun as usual here in Texas.
WTF also to my fasting blood sugar, which hasn't apparently noticed the increase in my metformin dose =(
@Kaytee1087 ughhhhhhh, that's shitty. I'm so sorry you had to go thru that! You've mentioned before how he puts his marina did before family events, right! I can seriously relate. My parents are Latin/ballroom dancers (professional level but not for work just hobby), and for the past ten years it's been the same thing. "Dance" decides EVERYTHING for our family stuff. My dad missed half of my wedding reception for a dance class! And my shower is no different. My mom offered to host it, she suggested a Monday night initially... which I kindly told her no you, that i really pictured it on a weekend afternoon. Silly me, thinking her dance schedule could be flexible somehow (did I mention she's also retired?). So she offered a Friday night AT 8PM. Ugh. Whatever.
My WTF is myself, for dropping my phone on my face while bumping as I lay in bed last night.... Now I have a fat lip!
@orangeev I've been trying to stay away from tomato products. My OB said I could take 4 150 zantac's a day- two in the am and two at night. I've been trying to just take them before dinner because I feel like they help constipate me! But I definitely get the bad part of the acid reflux as well as the heartburn. Sitting up doesn't help!
I'm gonna go with WTF Thursday. This week at work has been horrible and now it's BARELY storming and my power at home is out. I got home and the dog had peed on the floor bc she was scared. Now I'm sitting in a dark and hot house. DH is out of town. WTF weather?!?

@ibabylove87 I feel so useless when the power is out. It stinks because you don't even know when it's coming back. That's when I go chill at a coffee shop and watch netflix on my tablet!
Re: WTF Wednesday (Aug 17)
WTF This
Also WTF to whichever one of my neighbors is smoking outside. I am lying in my bed and should NOT have to smell your cancer.
ETA because I said laying instead of lying. WHAT is up with my English lately?!

WTF! How did we get here?? I can't. Ladies, they really truly grow so fast. Don't blink.

My WTF is that I actually woke up choking/coughing on my acid reflux last night. It was horrific. And that was after taking a Zantac.
