Re: PGAL Check-in 8/15/16

  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in. Not my first, but I had an early loss at the beginning of July and then was pretty surprised when I get pregnant again right away, since we were not really trying.

    2. How far along are you? 5 weeks, 2 days

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to? I made it past my loss. Hooray! That was the biggest one for me. Now I am just looking for my 1st appointment and hearing the heartbeat and seeing the ultrasound, but I have a very long time tow it for that. It still isn't set up, but it will probably be about a month from now.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: At least once a day I will get a stronger cramp and it will freeze me in my tracks and my blood will turn to ice. I am so much more attached to this pregnancy than I was to my last that I know it would kill me to lose it. Also, we were at the pool yesterday and I was having fun and did a backwards summersault in the water and stretched things a little too far and had super intense RLP for about 30 minutes. That freaked me out, and I thought for sure I killed my baby.

    5. GTKY: Who is your favorite superhero? I am going with Captain America. If I was a super hero I would probably be like him. I like his morals and the fact that he is old fashioned. Also.... HOT DAMN!

  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.
Im Andrea. This is my 6th pregnancy. Ive had a ectopic rupture, miscarriage, chemical pregnancy and blighted ovum. I also do have 1 living child. After my 3rd consecutive lost last year, I had bloodwork done and found that I have MTHFR. I am taking baby aspirin, folate and progesterone suppositories. Praying so hard for a take home baby!

    2. How far along are you?
4w 5d. Due date is 4-19. Day after my birthday!!

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
First appt is sept 2nd. But I'm most looking forward to getting an ultrasound to see if there's actually a baby in there!

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
feeling very guarded still. I don't think I will be excited until I see a baby on the u/s screen.

    5. GTKY: Who is your favorite superhero?  Batman!!
  • Glad to hear you're still going strong @mrsstuessy!

    2. How far along are you?
    6+6

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to? I have a second ultrasound scheduled for next Friday and I'm told my blob might start looking like a baby by then, plus getting confirmation that the measurements are matching up

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: we detected a heartbeat at Friday's ultrasound, which is farther along than I've ever gotten before (I had a pregnancy that lasted 7+5 but it turned out to be a blighted ovum so no heartbeat).  I'm really feeling optimistic!

    5. GTKY: Who is your favorite superhero? I'm not a superhero girl, but from the Marvel movies I'm going to have to say Thor.  Hemsworth may have something to do with that.
  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.

    2. How far along are you?
    4+5

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
Waiting on my third beta results. Last time my third beta I found out I was going to miscarry.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Just that my beta comes back great and we can schedule an ultrasound.

    5. GTKY: Who is your favorite superhero?
    Deadpool

  •  Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.

I don't think I've done one of these yet.. this is my 3rd pregnancy. CP in Nov. Immediately got PG again. Ended in MC in feb/march. FX thus time around

    2. How far along are you? 5wks

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Finding out my HCG today! Haha then my first US

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: got a freaking speeding ticket this morning! Ahhhh

    5. GTKY: Who is your favorite superhero. Oh idk. Batman I guess.
  •  Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.
this is my third pregnancy. DS born November 2013. MC in April 1016. Excited but also really nervous.

    2. How far along are you?
    4+4

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
Hearing the heartbeat, which probably won't be until 10-12 weeks on a dappled. My doctor doesn't do ultrasounds until 18-22 weeks...not sure if this will be different for me based on my loss, but I am guessing not...will find out at my first appointment I guess.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:

my hormones are going crazy and I feel like I am getting irritated way too easily...Hopefully I will get over this soon.

    5. GTKY: Who is your favorite superhero. Don't really have one, but my son is obsessed with batman, so we will go with that.
  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.
Hi! Had MCs in February and June and was surprised to get pg right away as compared to other months we weren't trying so hard!

    2. How far along are you?
    6+6

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
My last loss was at 7 weeks so I'm looking forward to getting through tomorrow.  Then we have an US on the following Monday and I really just want to see a baby with a heartbeat in there!

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
So hard to be at work while feeling nauseous and tired and hiding it so no one who's any questions but I'm trying so hard to see it as a blessing.

    5. GTKY: Who is your favorite superhero?
Not a huge superhero fan but maybe spiderman!
  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.
oops! I posted in my first last night.  Will post to get back on track!  STM, with an early loss at beginning of this June.

    2. How far along are you?
    5+4

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
    US on 8/29.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
definitely feeling pregnant and having good vibes.  I hope we all have sticky babes!

    5. GTKY: Who is your favorite superhero?
I'm not good with TV/movies, so I took a buzzfeed quiz and matched with Professor X

  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.

    2. How far along are you? 6 weeks, 4 days

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Hearing the heartbeat between 10-12 weeks, but I'm dying to feel flutters too.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I hate how long the first tri drags on. I feel like I can't relax and I count to the days to the next week, then Google and estimate my miscarriage risk for that day or week. I can't wait to start showing, worry less, feel baby, and find out the sex! (kinda hoping for Team Pink). I feel like I can't quite be happy yet.

    5. GTKY: Who is your favorite superhero? Do Ninja Turtles count?
  • 2. BFP: July 20th, 7 weeks 1 day.

3&4. Rants/ Milestones: none currently. Had my 1st ultra sound for viability. HB was 117 and baby was 6+ weeks. I told my doctor I wanted another one in a couple weeks just because I had a 10 week lost and she wrote me a script for another one at 8.5 weeks so hopefully all is well again for that. Next milestone will be 10 weeks for me.

    5. Favorite international food would be authentic Costa Rican food and coffee. Was the best actually in Costa Rica, west coast.
  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.
I'm Jess - My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 2 years. Well, I've been trying.. he's been having fun.  :p I did two rounds of Femara, and got a positive!
    2. How far along are you?
Thinking about 6 and a half weeks.
    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
Sep. 1st is my first US!
    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
OMG Why do bras even exist? I want to give up. I want to never wear a bra or pants again. Clothes suck. Also, I'm so bloated that I look like a hippo, my boobs are so big that I look slutty in all of my clothes, and I want to both eat everything in my fridge, and pray to the porcelain gods at all hours of the day.

  • @JessWannaEatEverything Welcome to the group. I just wanted to clarify, and I apologize if I'm assuming incorrectly, but I just wanted to confirm that you're aware this is the Pregnancy After Loss post. I completely respect and understand if you did experience a loss but from your post, it didn't appear that way. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

  • @JessWannaEatEverything That's no problem. You're more than welcome to join us here. I just wanted to make sure you we're on the right page. I'm sorry for your previous loss and FX for your success this pregnancy.

If you'd rather not participate, that is completely understandable especially if loss is a topic you'd rather not discuss. We also have daily ticker change check ins which would be great for when you hit 7w, there should be a Friday or Saturday ticker change board depending on which applies to you.

    2. How far along are you? 7 weeks 3 days

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Getting past my last loss point of 10 weeks

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:  love how wonderful my obs are being.  I can call the office whenever I'm freaking out and they will squeeze me in for a heartbeat check.  Or I can check with whichever doc is on call when I am working and they will do a heartbeat check there too!

  • @scorpiomer That's so great that your obs are being so considerate and supportive!
  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.  This is my second pregnancy. We had a blighted ovum discovered at 9 weeks in May.
    2. How far along are you? 6w1d according to the ultrasound.

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to? I was so excited to see a fetal pole and heartbeat yesterday! The heartbeat was a little low, so I get another u/s next week to see if it comes up. Looking forward to seeing a healthy little fast beating heart.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I'd like to rant because I feel so lousy, but its actually a bit comforting. My last pregnancy I felt great- which I thought was a good thing,  but now I know it is because my hormone levels weren't that high. Bring on the exhaustion, nausea and bloat I'm making a baby!

    5. GTKY: Who is your favorite superhero? Batman!

  • @Neikoda this particular check in has been my first feel of the bump community I hear people speak so highly of - your attention to everyone's posts just made me feel so connected  so thank you!!
Got through the day and my sights are set on Monday! Keeping everyone here in my thoughts!

As someone whose been on the site for almost the past year, the best way to connect and bond with other members is by reaching out. Plus, this board holds a special place for me and I know the support I've received from other ladies on TTGP and TTCAL have been absolute lifesavers.

  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in. Hi! I was previously on the D15 board until had a MMC in May followed by a D&C. The TTCAL board was an incredible source of support the last couple months, and I am looking forward to getting to know ladies on this board too!

    2. How far along are you? 4 weeks 6 days. EDD 4/21/

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Honestly, the end of the first tri. Our MMC was discovered at my NT scan, so I'm not going to feel like it is real until we make through that successfully. That said, I have my intake appt with a new practice (my old one was ok, but I felt there was real communication lacking, and the hospital they deliver at is not the best) next Tuesday, and I am looking forward to that!

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: My mantra this time is "Brave and Hopeful" my first pregnancy I was just worried about everything, and felt like I lost myself in the process of worrying so much, and then in then end worrying didn't prevent anything bad from happening. So I'm just trying to keep on trucking!
Mini rant: I forgot how tired and cranky I was at this point last time. My threshold for bullsh*t is basically in the basement, and being in a management position, sometimes it is hard to not just tell everyone to grow the heck up and leave me alone!

    5. GTKY: Who is your favorite superhero? I'm drawing a blank, so am I horrible if I say Thor just because Chris Hemsworth is so stinking dreamy?
  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.
Good morning! Coming over from the TTGP board. I have two wonderful DSS and a beautiful DS. DH and I had been TTC since Nov 2015, we experienced a loss in March. The BFP is still new, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

    2. How far along are you?
I just got my BFP yesterday. On Saturday I will be 4 weeks.

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
I'm currently looking forward to getting past 6 weeks which was how far along I was for my MC. These next two weeks will most likely go by so slow.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Yesterday, before I even took my pregnancy test, a friend of mine posted a status on FB regarding rainbow babies. I'm taking this as a good sign since I got my BFP just a few minutes later.

    5. GTKY: Who is your favorite superhero?
Since I have 3 DS, my life revolves around superheroes. DS#2 loves Batman and DS#3 loves SpiderMan. But honestly, there is no superhero discrimination in this house! These boys are obsessed! Even the Ninja Turtles get play!
