NBR: Paleo lifestyle going great!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share something that's working great for me on beimg more proactive about my health!! I dislike the word 'diet', it's so depressing! I'm using lifestyle because it truly is a total change in my grocery store shopping and eating process. I'm a few weeks into a Paleo lifestyle and I feel AMAZING!!!!

I'm falling asleep faster and quality of sleep is better!!
I'm not bloated or sluggish feeling.
I haven't had a headache in over a week now(I use to get several a week)!!!
I'm happier in general just from feeling good.
And.....I have lost about five pounds of my twenty pound goal!!!!! Yay!!

To top it all off, I'm only following it about 90%.
One day we traveled and fresh fruits and veggies with lean meats just weren't an option.
We also went to a birthday party and I had a cupcake because cake is amazing. LOL

If anyone's interested there are tons of ways to get started on Pintrest. Just type in Paleo diet.

I have learned I love fresh avocado, sweet bell peppers and life without sugar in my coffee, dairy and grains/bread is 90% doable!!!!!!
Weight loss aside, I'm more pumped about how physically great I feel.

What at else works for everyone??

Also just started paleo a couple of weeks ago. I've been clean eating for about 4 years (gluten free dairy free sugar free soy free nothing processed) but still eating brown rice pastas and rice and now I've decided to cut those out too. It's tough getting into a groove of figuring out what to cook when my go to dishes are usually pasta dishes but I do feel awesome.

I look better and I feel better. Now it's a matter of fitting a workout into my SAHM schedule. Only way I can think of now is to forego some sleep and I'm having trouble with making that sacrifice lol.

  • That's so great to hear. I was Paleo for 6 months before getting preggo and I felt the same way. I looked great and felt awesome. I'm considering doing it again, or starting an anti-inflammation diet soon. I'm feeling too bloated and tired from all of the breads and cheeses and occasional takeout I'm eating ( the still not-sleeping through the night baby probably isn't helping much either). It's meal planning that's a pain for me, and all the alternative ingredients that are hard to get in my small town. But I will definitely be doing something. And you're right, Pinterest is amazing for this stuff!
  • My husband and I did paleo a couple years back and we felt amazing as well! I have colitis so my wellness dr suggested going that route and it was the best decision ever. Now we do no bread no sugar and Saturday as our cheat day. It still feels great!

There's an app called Caveman feast that has some pretty good recipes on there. Also Costco is huge for buying ingredients because they sell a lot of Paleo friendly products  (almond flour, coconut sugar, coconut oil, BACON haha etc). Since we're not doing full paleo now, I always get a bag of gluten free flour from there and use it for a lot of recipes I make.
