Hi ladies,
(TW: BFN mentioned)
After 2 BFN from FETs, my lining just won't thicken beyond 5mm. This is the 4th cycle we had to cancel due to thin lining and I'm just inconsolable. We've tried various protocols, pills, suppositories, injections, Gonal f cycles... Nothing works anymore. I also do regular acupuncture, eat healthy, exercise and use all the supplements recommended, yet still it remains too thin...
My RE is now putting me on vaginal Viagra for the next cycle (together with oestrogen and patches). Has anyone else here been prescribed viagra? Has it helped? I did some reading on Doctor Google and it seems to be a thing that has proven to work, but I'm a bit apprehensive.
Thanks

Re: Thin lining & Viagra question
@mtpbadger let me know if your lining was ok or if you have to go the scratching route. I read about it and it seems to have worked for many. Sounds so weird though! I'm curious to see what this Viagra will do... Cycle starts next week so shall keep you posted.
@BornReady thanks for your kind words. Lots of fx to you

Everything else looks great. Transfer is tomorrow.
@mtpbadger did your FET work out? Sorry I've not been following your story, there are so many threads, it seems there are so many more people posting than when I joined last year, and I just can't keep up.
@katymarie101 did you find a solution to your thick lining?
Lots of fx to all of you

I am joining in on this because I don't know much about this lining stuff and am learning some things from what you're posting. I'm sorry you girls have been going through this... I'm now wondering if I am too? I just finished an IVF cycle and no one even mentioned my lining! I'd like to think that it must've been fine if nothing was brought up, but who knows? I never even knew to ask! This will be another question I bring up to my RE on Wednesday. What thickness is considered good/ideal? FX that new meds help things improve for you.

@joneser1281 I also had no idea how many things have to go right for you to be able to have a successful IVF cycle. It's extremely stressful and worrying, but your RE will tell you if there is anything you need to do. Don't worry about lining if they haven't brought it up. Lots of people don't have these issues at all. Fx to you on your journey.
@katymarie101 I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. But it really has a silver lining that you found the cells now. Are they going to remove the cells and how quickly can you recover from it? I had something similar in my cervix a few years back. It's terrifying but they can remove everything and you basically go back to normal in a few weeks. Hoping it all works out for you. Thanks for your wishes
AFM - transfer done and officially PUPO with 2 beautiful embabies. Nervous but positive. Bring on the 2ww

Good thoughts and vibs for your TWW.
@flanners1 I know, I feel like I learn something new from all of you every time I read the boards. There's so much to consider. I'm hoping all is well if it wasn't brought to my attention, but then sometimes I wonder if it was intentionally not brought up. I would hope not, but I'm a worrier. Thank you for your kind words. Hoping your TWW goes quickly and that you get that BFP!

Hi, just wanted to update you that we finally got our BFP. Both embabies took and we are over the moon. It's early days to get carried away, but we are staying positive! Who would have thought that Viagra would help get that lining to the right place...
@katymarie101 I hope things are looking good for you and that you are able to move forward as you planned.
@joneser1281 are you still going ahead with FET in October?
@mtpbadger fingers crossed that the lining is growing as it should for your upcoming FET! Fx to you

I know this post is old, but wanted to chime in on thin lining since I had the same problem. We tried the vaginal Viagra for a year and never could get my lining above a 6. After countless canceled cycles due to thin lining, my RE did a ton of research and called around to different clinics and we tried a new protocol. I took a drug called Trental that is used to increase blood flow. For me this was WAY easier than the vaginal Viagra and WAY cheaper (Trental was covered by my insurance). I took one pill in the morning and one at night. We also tried Estrogen patches rather than vaginal estrogen and I took 1,000 units a day of Vitamin E. Although the new protocol didn't increase my lining, it started getting the triple stripe look that he liked. We decided to try a transfer since that was the best triple stripe look I had gotten, even though my lining was only 5.5 We got our BFP at the end of July and now I'm 14 weeks pregnant. So there is hope for all of us with a thin lining!
