Thanks @AlwaysAuntNeverMom, @camichael84, and @AnnaS930 for the concern after DS's fall from his crib. We had no idea that he was big enough to get out of his crib. And the fall he had was huge - probably more than 4 feet. Very scary! We weren't planning on transitioning him for another 3-4 months since baby will not need the crib right away but that has now changed. DS has been a pretty great baby/toddler so far. He hasn't given us many challenges at all and I have feared for quite awhile that the transition to the toddler bed will be our biggest challenge to date. And it sucks that I have to do it my last month of pregnancy.
I have my 36 week appointment today and will be getting the gbs stab (still funny!!) so I will be attempting some hot yoga with knives (shaving) in the shower. Here's hoping for minimal contractions, pain and blood. Wish me luck ladies
@Ssoccerball Congratulations! Ben and Brooke are adorable!
@Megan324 that's wonderful news!!! Thank you for sharing and congratulations to your friend and her little ones! Here's hoping they come off the oxygen soon too!
Catching up on 300 posts as this weekend was crazy, hot, amazing, and busy! DH and I did a 'nesting' day of our house on Friday...of course we some how managed to pick the hottest day in weeks to do it (we don't have AC). Our house though is now clean and looks awesome and i'm bound and determined to keep it that way until LO is born.
We also had our shower on Saturday, it was amazing and more then I could've ever hoped for. Everyone was so generous and it was wonderful to see some people I hadn't seen in years. DH then took everything we got as a challenge and made sure it was all put away by noon the next day. He's totally in a 'OMG baby could arrive at any moment stage,' and I'm milking it for all it's worth.
Sunday we went on a birthing tour of our hospital and saw the birthing center. Thanks to this I now have a preference for how I give birth - vaginally. Before it was what was best for baby (still is in reality), but after seeing the rooms...you get a HUGE room if giving birth vaginally whereas if you have a C-section you still get a private room but it's teeny tiny!!!
Lastly - today I started training my interim for while I'm on maternity leave. This has some how solidified it's all real to me and I'm digesting that 'I'm going to be a mom feeling.' It's crazy, surreal, and I'm so excited to meet my little one when they come.
TLDR - Great weekend - Love my family, friends, and hubby - Vaginal all the way - OMG I'm going to be a mom soon!!!
Also @RG1 nipple stimulation is also known to trigger labor, get it girl!!
Semen does have magical cervical softening powers and orgasms never hurt anyone/anything! We are still attempting sex, but I'm not really keen on DH "letting go" inside of me ever since I had my L&D scare last week. Also the discharge is crazy enough on its own (TMI). Back to college sex for us for awhile lol.
My husband who is typically wonderful and loving and caring and giving with everything sex and non-sex related recently complained about how much more work he has to do now during sex. I'm sorry honey, is the work of carrying your child for nine months not enough for you?
What the what?!
if my husband said this I would tell him to literally go f*ck himself
@LakeR2014 Woot woot! I'm glad you had such a good weekend. I've seen the birthing center at your hospital and its similar to mine, I also want to make sure I get one of the big rooms

So I verified earlier today with my husband that he still plans on going to his live fantasy football draft this weekend, so he'll leave mid-day Saturday and be back sometime in the middle of the night. To me, it's a big deal.. he has 4 days off in common with me this month and is choosing to go do this... which I get, he didn't pick the day, but he has the whole weekend off, we actually could have done something and now I'm home alone with the kiddo for another half day.
I texted him to say "I want so badly to be the cool wife who's really happy for you but I'm honestly having a hard time with how lonely I am. Constantly bugging my parents to fill that void is embarrassing"
I LOVE my son and spending time with him, but I am a person who needs adult interaction, and the 3 days I'm home per week my husband is usually working. We had August 3rd off in common but he had a family golfing outing so he was busy until 4pm.
All of this is just to say that I'm feeling emotional and I don't want to talk to family/friends about it because my husband is an amazing person but is breaking my heart at the same time and I'd rather keep that private. I wish I hadn't sent the text.. he either won't respond or will just say "ok" or something equally dismissive. Blah.
But with all of the sex talk, I'm hearing a lot of "sex and O's" in the same conversation. Those two things do not go hand in hand for me...in fact, I think I can honestly say that I've never O'd during sex. I thought that was fairly common. So either I'm missing something or you women (that have mentioned it) are all the super lucky minority!?
@AnnaS930 I totally get it. If I only had 4 mutual days off with my fiancé in a month and he proposed that, he'd get a swift "hell no!" Especially at this point in my pregnancy.
I admire your text as it was honest without freaking out either. Hope he gets where you are coming from.
@annas930 sorry about DH. I think it is totally OK that you sent the text. He may not like it or respond the way you like BUT I think it is totally ok to let my DH know when you feeling needy!
Me: 32 DH: 31

Generally the two together are not common for me. I get mine in other ways or we have to get a little more creative during sex.
@JennM205 I wouldn't say I always get there during the actual sex part, although I do enjoy it. DH is really good about getting me the O before hand, though, especially as it helps to get things going down there.
Thanks for the commiseration ladies. I'm feeling pretty blue sitting at my desk.. but I'm eating Cap'n Crunch Spinkled Donut cereal (I can't believe I actually bought it.. but so good), listening to The Lumineers and trying to plug away at my mountain of work to avoid a meltdown.
I'm also considering packing up Emmett and I and heading to my sister's for the whole weekend and saying "sorry.. we won't be around for the time that you're free for us" ... but she lives 2.5 hours away and at almost 38 weeks along, OB might not be wild about it.
After months of telling DH that he needs to schedule a doctor appointment (he hasn't been in years) he finally has one scheduled for tonight before out birthing class. He informed me today that he doesn't want me to come in because the doctor is going to check his prostate and he doesn't want me to witness that. Um hello!! You have been witnessing doctors shove things up my vag and will be witnessing me push a baby out! Is bending over and coughing that big of a deal!!
Ok, I feel better now. I was suddenly getting irrationally jealous thinking all of you were experiencing Os during actual "sex"! @Megan324 DH is luckily very giving in other ways so the O's are definitely there for me, just takes a little extra work on his part at one point or another.
So, we went in to check fluid levels and dilation this am and my fluids dropped to 3 from 7 and I'm dilated to 3 so I've been admitted to L&D! I'm a little worried about the low fluid levels bc the risk of emergency c-section increases but I'm in good hands and excited to be having the baby today!
@AnnaS930 I'm sorry that's a crappy situation to be in. I totally get where you're coming from, but don't have any good advice. I had a mini melt down a couple weeks ago where I basically told DH I was just overall sad cause he keeps being able to go on these guys weekends, trips to breweries, out for oysters, etc etc and all I get to do is be hot and pregnant. Not that it got us anywhere but I just had to get it out!
@JennM205 not to AW but normally I do every time! Only in certain positions though. But during pregnancy? Nooooope. Not happening.
Aaaaand just like that I'm on a jury. Wonderful timing with my busiest time at work and weeks away from maternity leave. Gah. I seriously almost started crying when they told me I was selected.. Cue hormones and everyone in there probably thinking I'm a raging lunatic.

That's crazy to me that you were picked. I imagine it's a trial they think will wrap up quickly, but still. I got summoned for federal jury duty (so a 2 hour drive away!) the month DS1 was born. Fortunately I was able to send a doctor's note along that I'd be on leave at that time (I was due the 5th) and they let me out of it, which ultimately was a good thing since DS1 ended up being born 6 weeks early.
@SLou24 Hopefully you get an interesting and short trial for the jury you are on. The one time I had jury duty I was selected. It was a murder trial and I found it to be very interesting. But it was a very long 2 days - good luck!

Don't worry, I did. But I want sex too.

Maybe some women really do and I'm hella jealous but for now I'm not convinced lol
@izzetoot good luck! So exciting. Can't wait to see your newb!
