I'm going to ask my husband to control the playlist that day. I love hearing what songs he picks out for the baby. He always includes the Avett Brothers for me.
I always sing "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri to my daughter. It's such a beautiful song and perfectly describes how nervous I was to have her but loved her so much already.
@MrsVoorhees I love that song for the same reason! Philip Philips "Home" was also super popular when I was pregnant with her so I always think of her when I hear that song.
@MrsVoorhees and @JennM205 I love both of those songs, too! "A Thousand Years" really spoke to me because in the year and a half it took to conceive McKenna, I felt all this love for our child that didn't exist yet. And "Home" is a song that always makes me feel better when I'm feeling anxious about something... and I spent a lot of time worrying something would be wrong with McKenna after we finally did conceive her. When "Home" would come on the radio on the way to an appointment, it always felt like a sign to me that it would all be okay.
I forgot in my last post... I had DH put on Pandora during my last labor. I think maybe 4 or 5 songs played before I had him turn it off. The only thing I remember hearing is "Love Walks In" by Van Halen.
There is a birthing playlist on Spotify! It's not great, but some are good.
I haven't created a playlist, but I definitely plan on bringing our portable speaker. I know for sure Hold My Hand by Jess Glynne will probably be on repeat at least some of the time. For some reason, I've been associating it with L&D and it makes me feel all "ready."
I created a playlist that's about 4 hours long. It's got songs that always got me motivated when I was running half marathons, plus some fun "birth theme" type songs (like Push It, I'm Coming Out, Lets Hear it For the Boy) and of course it's got "Hey Jude" because our boy's name is Jude!

@runningisrad I was thinking of taking a cue from my half marathon playlist I created to make one for labor and delivery too. Push it was definitely going to be on there!

Running long distances isn't far off from labor! I mean, labor hurts worse and usually lasts longer, but your frame of mind has to be similar for both!

I have a spotifty yoga playlist, steve halpern, i love listening to when i feel stressed or need something relaxing. Not sure how im gonna feel about it during labor, but maybe i should create a new list, even though i have 794. I love spotify, the ad free version is worth every penny.
Re: Labour playlist
Edited because words
I still love the idea of having music help me through but I apparently have no idea what will be appropriate in the moment.
