Hi! I'm not sure how trigger warnings work on this board, but I fighured I'd include one just in case.
DH and I have been TTC for a year and a half. We've been doing fertility treatments the whole time due to my PCOS. This summer we've had back to back chemical pregnancies (June 20 and last Thursday- we took one cycle off in between per doc's request.)
I have an appointment tomorrow to confirm the CP and talk about plans.
I feel completely guilty for my emotions about this. The first CP left me completely devistated, but recognizing that I probably have progesterone issues (always lower than 10 at 7dpo) has made the second one slightly less devistating. DH and I were also very guarded this cycle.
I do have a question for anyone that has any insight:
Do I actually have to take the next cycle off if my HCG is below 5 and we are feeling emotionally healthy? If our doc (RE) says we have to have 3 before testing, I'd rather try to get the third one out of the way.

As far as if you should wait after a CP, it's totally up to you. It would just come down to whether you would skip a cycle or 2 to do RPL testing. I was able to get RPL testing after 2 MCs, but I'm AMA. The new ASRM guidelines do say that you can do RPL testing after the 2nd MC bc the percent of women who have 2 and 3 MCs in a row are so close. It doesn't hurt to ask for RPL tests and see what they say.
Good luck to you and feel free to stick around as long as you want!

After those conversations, we found out mine was ectopic and I needed meds to treat it. The meds are very harmful to a fetus, so I did have to wait a calendar month for that to clear my system. For you, though, it's definitely worth pushing back on your doc for why you must wait or getting a second opinion.
