Re: Weekly Appointments 8/7 - 8/13
31 weeks 1 day
How did your appointment go overall?
Short and sweet, but I don't like seeing the NP. I didn't have anything concerning going on so I just sucked it up to keep my 8:30 appointment time.
Any ultrasound or doppler?
Doppler 140 BPM. No searching for him today, he was right there!
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had?
No questions today.
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team??
Everyone probably already knows my love for my Gamecocks. College football is my favorite time of the year. Not being able to have beer for at least half of this season will be interesting.....
I don't really care about professional teams in any sport, but I will pull for the Panthers because of where we live.

How did your appointment go overall? great
Any ultrasound or doppler? Ultrasound to check placenta and it is now up and out of the way
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? yes
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team?? we don't really have a favorite sports team, we are a dirt track racing family
How did your appointment go overall? It went so-so. Baby looks good- weighing in at 2.6lbs! He is transverse which would explain why I feel his head up in my right rib cage and his feet kicking me in the left side of my uterus. However, my placenta previa is here to stay and it looks like I now have placenta accreta- so the placenta has attached itself onto some of my scar tissue from a previous section.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Ultrasound
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? yes, we go back in 2 in two weeks to check on the placenta accreta with a high risk ultrasound and specialist.
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team?? I really only enjoy sports for the beer drinking and the food eating. But if I had to pick I like football better and I am from MA so obviously I got with the Pats.
31+6
How did your appointment go overall?
good!
Any ultrasound or doppler?
Doppler, baby was sleeping and easy to
find, 130 BPM
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had?
yes. I haven't gained any weight since last appt and the dr wants me to gain more because I started underweight. I told her my morning sickness came back and she said it's because of my acid reflux. She told me to take Zantac twice a day so hopefully that will help. They'll check on my weight again next appt. Thankfully I am measuring on track re fundal height.
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team??
New York Yankees! Although this year is super depressing
29 weeks today
How did your appointment go overall?
Ok
Any ultrasound or doppler?
Doppler everything sounds great she actually made it easy today
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had?
Yes, he seemed more concerned then I did about the pains I've been having.
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team??
Not huge into sports but I will watch the ravens play
How did your appointment go overall? Eh. I failed my 1 hour GTT the day before I went on a 10 day vacation to Maine, by a whopping 2 points. So, I need to have the 3 hour test. We are scheduling it to be done intravenously because if I don't eat, I gag, and if I gag too much, I am afraid I will vomit the glucose drink and that would make the test completely pointless. It's scheduled for next Tuesday and I'm dreading it. Otherwise, everything is fine.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler, baby sounded great!
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes, mostly about the GTT.
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team?? I'm not huge into sports, but I do enjoy football with my husband occasionally, but he gets all upset because I'm a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan. I also adore Laurie Hernandez for team USA gymnastics.
How did your appointment go overall? Overall, fine because baby boy is healthy. Emotional for me because she mentioned weight gain and she thinks I'm gaining too much. I feel embarrassed and upset that I havent done my best. I mean I'm one of those people who has to eat right and work out or else I gain a ton, so not being able to keep up my workout routine an eating not as healthy has made me gain weight. Ugh I just cried the whole way home and just feel bad, but baby is healthy so I know I should just be happy.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I didnt have any questions, but she told me how I should be eating.
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team?? I graduated from the University of Florida, so I'm a Gator all the way. With DH being from up north, he is into hockey, so I root for his hockey team too, the Minnesota Wild, since he cheers for my college football team.
32 Weeks!
How did your appointment go overall?
It went well. My uterus measures right on track. I do need to be better about hydration, though.
Any ultrasound or doppler?
Doppler! Heart rate was 131.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had?
She did. I asked about when she wanted me to start my maternity leave and whether or not the cramping I've been getting in my calves is normal -hence hydration.
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team??
49ers!!!
How far along are you? 29 weeks and 5 days
How did your appointment go overall? Good. Kinzley's hb sounded good and she was kicking!
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler, 150 HR.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes. I've always been anemic and when we found out I was pregnant my OB didn't say anything about it but for some reason my OB is starting me on an iron prescription now. I guess better late than never, but last time I was on an iron supplement it made me sick so fingers crossed with this one. Also my fundal height is measuring ahead, we have a growth scan in 2 weeks and at every other growth scan shes been measuring on the small side so we will see I guess.
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team?? I'm going to be honest, I HATE watching sports unless it is in person, so no favorite team for me.
SO and I have been together: 5 Years+

How far along are you? 32W2D
How did your appointment go overall? Went well! They are always so boring thank god and knock on wood. Only difference was a culture test today. I never got to ask why, I was distracted. After I gave my sample my FI said "take your pants off" I'm like uhh not appropriate?! Haha but the Nurse confirmed they were taking a culture test
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler. 140 BPM
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Just had concerns about my weight gain and she told me I have gained 25 lbs so I'm doing well!
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team?? Cardinals for sure!!! Love my boys!
How did your appointment go overall? Great! The ultrasound went really well, which was the most important thing. OB signed off on our birth plan, which makes everything feel so official! She recommended a support belt since baby is so low, so I may have to go ahead and get one.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Both. I haven't had an u/s since 20 weeks. I've been measuring a few cm small so my OB ordered a growth scan, even though she was not worried at all. I was definitely a tiny bit nervous, but mostly excited. I was thrilled to see baby boy again, and he is actually measuring 2 days ahead and 42nd percentile in weight! On Monday at my appointment he was 3lb 15oz. He is also head down and seems to be quite low so I'm not really worried about having to deal with him being in a weird position for labor.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? She told me the rash I've been having is probably a heat rash, which are more common in pregnancy because of the high estrogen.
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team?? Michigan football... GO BLUE!!!
It's a boy!
28 weeks
How did your appointment go overall?
Good - passed my glucose test and measuring on track.
Any ultrasound or doppler?
Doppler - always good to hear the heartbeat, even though I can feel him wiggling all the time.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had?
I've been seeing an ortho practice and going to PT for a knee injury (from running) ... The ortho guys all said I couldn't have an MRI, so basically they couldn't do anything for me (except PT) since they can't see what's wrong. But my OB said an MRI was totally fine! He figures the ortho guys are too scared to work on a pregnant woman and using the MRI as an excuse. Thankfully, he told me to give the ortho office his cellphone number so they can figure something out. Fingers crossed I can get some answers!
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team??
O-H-I-O! Go Bucks!
@mommathoner that is obnoxious! Can your OB recommend a better PT place for you? Some where that has experience in dealing with pregnant women?
How did your appointment go overall? Good! Lost a few pounds, so feeling a little better about overall weight gain.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler - found baby's heartbeat right away! Strong and fast!
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I asked about the TDAP - they don't have it in the office yet! So, I can wait til after birth or get it from my general practitioner before. Also got my script for a breast pump - now to pass that along to my insurance....
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team?? It's all about football for me! I can't wait until fall football - and to see my Buffalo Bills take the field! (Bills Fans = eternal optimists!) I shall miss the beer that goes along with wings and chili football Sundays, well until late October anyway, but soooo looking forward to crisp fall football days!
How far along are you? 32 weeks
How did your appointment go overall? Pretty well, although the doctor kept me waiting 50 minutes and I was NOT a happy camper.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Ultrasound. Baby measures an estimated 4 lb 9 oz, is head down and posterior facing. He or she also has a full head of hair! The little bugger wouldn't get their hands out of their face, but we still got some good pictures!
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I asked about the necessity of weekly ultrasounds from here on out, and the doctor said that they are not only concerned about my age (40 this month), but also my hypothyroidism. She said they would have started at 36 weeks if it was either of the two, but not both. I still think they are needless and they are being extra cautious. Baby is obviously growing just fine.
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team?? I don't really have one because I don't watch sports, but I'll go to the local baseball or hockey games.
Baby GIRL born 9/16/201
BFP! EDD 8/1/2019 CP 4w2d
32 Weeks 1 day
How did your appointment go overall?
Short, sweet, and to the point.
Any ultrasound or doppler?
Doppler, Johnny's little heart is nice and strong
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had?
I didn't have any this time around.
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team??
Baseball- Astron
Football (college only)- OU or OSU, anybody familiar with OK football, don't judge me! I don't like picking sides haha
@mommathoner I hurt my knee running also, but I'm of the "ignore it and it'll go away on its own" school of thought. Not working out too well for me so far...
How far along are you? 31 weeks 3 days when I had my appointment (yesterday)
How did your appointment go overall? The appointment itself was fine - short and sweet. But trying to schedule weekly NSTs and BPPs starting next week was a giant pain in the butt, especially since the scheduler insisted that they had to be the same day of the week every week. Um, no they don't unless the rules have changed since the last time I was pregnant. Now I've got appointments at two different times every Thursday for the next four weeks and next week I've got to get downtown (to a different clinic) in rush hour traffic for a ten minute ultrasound. Sigh.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Sort of. I probably should have asked when the weekly NSTs and BPPs started at my last appointment instead of waiting until this appointment so I could have scheduled them.
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team?? I bleed green and gold. GO PACK GO!
Regarding the breast pump- with tufts insurance I just got a prescription and went to a medical supply store that carried the pump I wanted. I did have to pay $100 because we had a deductible for medical equipment but it was pretty easy.
this time around I just have to go to the blue cross blue shield website (new job, new insurance) and can order directly from there via medela and I don't have to pay anything! Just need the info on the prescription to input! But I can't do it until I am 60 days of my due date. And my actual due date isn't until November 8th but I am delivering by October 19th. I also get discounts of BFing supplies if I order through the site. Just haven't researched it to see if the discount is better than the babies r u sales.
@lmnobaby I hope it's as easy as a process for you!
How did your appointment go overall? Well! I had my glucose test (still waiting on the results) and a little check in. I can't believe that I've reached the point where my appointments are now every 2 weeks. It sounded so far away when I went for my first appointment at 6w!
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes - I'm still concerned about my weight gain, but my doctor says I'm fine. I just feel like I gained a LOT this past month. Since I had some issues with my anatomy scan, she's ordering another ultrasound in a few weeks to make sure everything is still okay. Not going to argue with another chance to see baby!
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team?? The only sport I really follow is soccer. I'm an Arsenal fan and love watching English Premier League. I do play fantasy football with my husband and our friends just so I have something to motivate me during football season. He's a huge NY Giants fan so I like to at least know what he's talking about.
How did your appointment go overall? Overall good. I had an ultrasound to make sure that my placenta was moving up, and it had moved up just fine. But, we found out that Peanut's estimated weight is 3 lbs 5 oz, which puts him in the 93rd percentile for weight. Yikes!! Doctor told me to walk more, and also try to limit my carb intake. I am really paranoid about having a large baby, as I am really hoping to have a natural, med-free delivery. So I am completely on board with exercising more, and eating healthier. Definitely room for improvement in both of those areas. I also had to get the Rhogam shot, and both my husband and I got the TDAP vaccine.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Ultrasound.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes! Had a bunch of questions on Peanut's high weight, and she reassured me that ultrasound weight predictions are not that accurate. She said to not put too much emphasis on his estimated weight, but it still wouldn't hurt to exercise more and eat healthier. She also recommended pediatricians, and told us how to schedule our hospital tour.
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team?? Baseball - Cleveland Indians - Go Tribe!!!!
How did your appointment go overall? Saw the nurse practitioner again this appointment. Appointment was quick and went well.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler, heart rate at 152.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Extra strength Zantac has ceased working, so I'll be starting on a prescription for for acid reflux. She also recommended wrist splints to wear at night while sleeping to help with the pregnancy induced carpel tunnel.
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team??
Go Vikings! Hard part of living in MO is if the game is the same time as the KC Cheifs... you're not going to find it
How did your appointment go overall? fine
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Mostly. I forgot to ask whether I really *had* to see the dietitian about my GD. I mean, I know what I'm doing. But I guess I'll go anyway. Baby was lazy today but she was measuring good and her heartbeat was good and the doctor saw her move a little when she was doing the doppler. Like I had said, it wasn't that she was not moving, she was just subdued. Since I've gotten home with dinner out with my folks she's been moving (even though my glucose was high... maybe baby likes it that way).
For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team?? No sports. Never sports.
