Low Progesterone? *Losses mentioned*

Sorry if this is not in the proper organized thread wasn't sure which one it went it or it should be it's own thread.

Anyway, had betas this week (was 5 weeks monday) and hcg is great, more than doubled (725 up to 1930), but my progesterone was at 8 and they now want me to take supplements. I have had 2 early losses and 1 healthy problem free pregnancy that resulted in my DD.

So my question is taking the progesterone going to prolong an unhealthy pregnancy? I trust my body since I have had 1 healthy child and don't want to carry on with an unhealthy fetus so im hesitant to take them. Of course what if I just am having hormone issues since I'm now 32 and need it to keep my healthy baby. I will have an ultrasound at 7 weeks to see what going on. The OB assured me there is no reason to think there is anything wrong but pgal brain is a bitch. Anyone have any experiences with this? Did you have healthy kids? MC anyway? Thanks for any insight ladies.

Edit: clarity

  •  no insight, but I just wanted to reach out (virtually) and tell you I'm hoping for the best for you and your pregnancy. Sounds like you've had a really really tough go and I'm so sorry for your previous losses.

I've had several early losses and my dr has me taking progesterone suppositories as a precaution because it can't hurt. From my understanding, if the pregnancy is not viable then progesterone is not going to prevent a miscarriage.
  • Oye ladies, thanks for answering, but I meant i didn't know where it went, not that i just threw out there on purpose. Will edit to clarify. Sometimes I hate posting because unless you word it perfectly people lose their minds. And I looked, must have missed the lab work one or wherever. Wish I could gif mobile! So many good ones needed right now.was just trying to lighten the somberness of the post with a FFFC, cause I really do hate going through the threads. But as a good community member I do try to follow rules...my intro is in the thread lol. Thanks again for the answers.

    QFP (edited version)

I'm confused partially maybe because posters are responding to the original version of your post and now it's gone.  So.  There's that.

But if your doctor wants to put you on progesterone, ...then take the progesterone.  I agree with PPs that, NO, it will not be enough to carry an otherwise-unviable pregnancy to term.

This is probably the kind of question/reservation you should really discuss with your doctor, because if not understanding the medicine they want you to take is causing you not to want to follow their recommendations, you could very well just leave yourself losing a viable pregnancy due to low progesterone that could have been totally prevented.  So...  ya.

Also, ***lurking*** and totally Not pregnant, and WISHING progesterone pills would have been my magic bullet.  So sorry, and very sorry for your losses, but I guess I am having trouble understanding why a person would be seemingly unwilling to do something so simple to keep their baby...?
