Interested in a VBaC/ C Section check-in?

Is anyone interested in a VBaC or CS check-in? Maybe comparing notes, making sure we are progressing like we should, concerns from us/doc, or just emotional support about either one?

If you are interested and have any ideas for possible check-in questions, let me know and I will get one started.

  • I'd participate as it pertains to a possible scheduled C-Section. Although, that may be a separate topic entirely? (FTM).

  • I'm in. Let me think about questions.
  • Also a FTM with a scheduled C, I'd participate if it was pertinent to my situation, not entirely sure if that's what you had in mind @Kate08Young. :)
  • Yeah I'd participate. I'm definitely a RCS though, zero chance of vbac with my history plus this placenta previa.
    DD1 5/23/14, DD2 12/5/16   Baby #3 on the way!

  • RCS here, too. I'd be down
  • @ashleaf2018 @swhiddon33 It could be a place where you can ask anything you are curious about; recovery, drugs, best/possible practices, timing. Anything.

  • Me too. There is zero chance of VBAC for me... Unless there is a giant earthquake, I'm stuck in an elevator, and go into labor. Lol, ok maybe that was a scary scenario, but RCS it is.

  • RCS and VBAC groups are very different, i don't think we can combine them into the same check in.  not sure how many of us here are planning on VBAC.  the VBAC board is super slow.

I think I am the only one, or one of 2-3 that are trying to VBaC. I was just curious if there was interest in either.

  • Ideally I would like a VBAC, but may end up with a RCS depending on my glucose results and whether I go into labor on my own.  Some of us may not know which group we fall in yet, although it seems the majority are RCS. :)
  • I would be interested. Schedule c-section here if that's what you're including.
  • In going for a vbac but as my due date is the end of the month is too far out to tell if I'll actually be a good candidate or not. DD was breech last time so that's why the c-section. We will see what happens. I'd be interested in a board though.
  • I'm hoping to have a VBAC- I'm interested.
  • I'm not planning on a c-section, but with twins I'm clearly a possible candidate, so it could be really helpful to follow the information!!

My unrequested opinion is that maybe the RCS/vbac threads should be separate- Or are they usually in the same one on other BMBs?

I have only seen the RCS and VBAC together, but that was on maybe 2 BMBs. Everyone else doesn't seem to have one.

  • Maybe we have one, combined for awhile and then we can separate them as we continue to progress? Might be good for some that are either on the fence or not sure which way they will go.
  • I'm ready for this board to start so I can talk to other BTDT moms about this horrible scar pain this pregnancy. Is this normal?? I feel like I'm ripping open every time I stand up.

  • @Gizmo1231 No worries! I haven't had anything over 'it feels like its stretching' type of pain and horrible case of the itchies.

  • @Kate08Young it doesn't happen a lot. But when it does I feel like I could collapse because of the pain.

  • I would definitely be interested in a checkin for c-section mammas. I'm not a candidate for VBAC but my OBs/hospital do "family centered" cesereans and I'm planning that. I would love to talk to other moms in the same boat!

    @Gizmo1231
I've had SO MUCH more pain in that region since the first tri compared to my first pregnancy. I asked my OB if it was related to scaring on my uterus and she wasn't convinced? But seriously, I don't recall pains like this back then. My placenta is also anterior, so maybe that contributes as well?
My c-section was emergency and my OB then (nearly 6 years ago now) had a really hard time sewing me up, so I was terrified my uterus hadn't healed properly and was going to burst open or something. DH (as a medical professional and all around logical person) thinks I'm nuts :).

  • @Gizmo1231 YES! Its not all the time...but when it happens Im literally bent over in pain. I sneezed the other day and was convinced I tore something in there! But I also have placenta previa and the the placenta attached to my scar (and is hanging down)...so IDK if that has something to do with my pain. But really the only pain I have had this pregnancy and not the last is that really bad pain around my scar. My CS was 22 months before I got pregnant this time...also dont know if length of time between pregnancies has anything to do with it.
    DD1 5/23/14, DD2 12/5/16   Baby #3 on the way!

  • I'm also having a ripping feeling from my incision @Gizmo1231.  OB said it's 'normal-ish'.  Mine is not constant.  If yours is that severe make sure you address it.  You don't want to be in a position that you tear when baby is bigger.  I'm sure there's supports that can help (and maybe even get them covered by insurance!)

I'm praying for a routine, scheduled cesarian this go round.  We've decided with twins the risk is too high for VBAC considering my history and possible complications.
