    Any ultrasound or doppler?
Doppler everything sounds great she actually made it easy today

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had?
Yes, he seemed more concerned then I did about the pains I've been having.

For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team??
Not huge into sports but I will watch the ravens play

How did your appointment go overall? Went well! They are always so boring thank god and knock on wood. Only difference was a culture test today. I never got to ask why, I was distracted. After I gave my sample my FI said "take your pants off" I'm like uhh not appropriate?! Haha but the Nurse confirmed they were taking a culture test

Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler. 140 BPM

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Just had concerns about my weight gain and she told me I have gained 25 lbs so I'm doing well!

For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team?? Cardinals for sure!!! Love my boys!

How did your appointment go overall? Great!  The ultrasound went really well, which was the most important thing.  OB signed off on our birth plan, which makes everything feel so official!  She recommended a support belt since baby is so low, so I may have to go ahead and get one.

Any ultrasound or doppler? Both.  I haven't had an u/s since 20 weeks.  I've been measuring a few cm small so my OB ordered a growth scan, even though she was not worried at all.  I was definitely a tiny bit nervous, but mostly excited.  I was thrilled to see baby boy again, and he is actually measuring 2 days ahead and 42nd percentile in weight!  On Monday at my appointment he was 3lb 15oz.  He is also head down and seems to be quite low so I'm not really worried about having to deal with him being in a weird position for labor.

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? She told me the rash I've been having is probably a heat rash, which are more common in pregnancy because of the high estrogen.

How did your appointment go overall?
Good - passed my glucose test and measuring on track.

    Any ultrasound or doppler?
Doppler - always good to hear the heartbeat, even though I can feel him wiggling all the time.

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had?
I've been seeing an ortho practice and going to PT for a knee injury (from running) ... The ortho guys all said I couldn't have an MRI, so basically they couldn't do anything for me (except PT) since they can't see what's wrong. But my OB said an MRI was totally fine! He figures the ortho guys are too scared to work on a pregnant woman and using the MRI as an excuse. Thankfully, he told me to give the ortho office his cellphone number so they can figure something out. Fingers crossed I can get some answers!

We're big marching band geeks and my husband thinks it would be so cool to be the tuba player who gets to be the dot on the I at the end of the field show :)
  • ashleyp625 We're big band geeks, too! Tell your husband it's a sousaphone, not a tuba. ;) We love going to watch the band's skull session (rehearsal) before home games - incredible!
  • @mommathoner I actually did know that, just didn't feel like editing once I realized I put the wrong instrument ;) that would be so cool to see!
  • @mommathoner that is obnoxious! Can your OB recommend a better PT place for you? Some where that has experience in dealing with pregnant women?

  • How far along are you? 30w2d

How did your appointment go overall? Good!  Lost a few pounds, so feeling a little better about overall weight gain.

Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler - found baby's heartbeat right away! Strong and fast!

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I asked about the TDAP - they don't have it in the office yet!  So, I can wait til after birth or get it from my general practitioner before.  Also got my script for a breast pump - now to pass that along to my insurance....

For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team??
It's all about football for me!  I can't wait until fall football - and to see my Buffalo Bills take the field! (Bills Fans = eternal optimists!)  I shall miss the beer that goes along with wings and chili football Sundays, well until late October anyway, but soooo looking forward to crisp fall football days!
  • @LMNOBaby, why wouldn't they have it in the office? It isn't a seasonal vaccine and should be available year-round. I would definitely get it sooner rather than later because it takes at least 2 weeks to take full effect.

  • @LizaKate1213 I think they just haven't gotten in the most recent shipment? She said they'd have it eventually...going to see if I can get it elsewhere!

    Another week, another ultrasound!

How far along are you? 32 weeks

How did your appointment go overall? Pretty well, although the doctor kept me waiting 50 minutes and I was NOT a happy camper.

Any ultrasound or doppler? Ultrasound. Baby measures an estimated 4 lb 9 oz, is head down and posterior facing. He or she also has a full head of hair! The little bugger wouldn't get their hands out of their face, but we still got some good pictures!

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I asked about the necessity of weekly ultrasounds from here on out, and the doctor said that they are not only concerned about my age (40 this month), but also my hypothyroidism. She said they would have started at 36 weeks if it was either of the two, but not both. I still think they are needless and they are being extra cautious. Baby is obviously growing just fine.

For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team??
I don't really have one because I don't watch sports, but I'll go to the local baseball or hockey games.

How did your appointment go overall?
Short, sweet, and to the point.

    Any ultrasound or doppler?
Doppler, Johnny's little heart is nice and strong <3

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had?
I didn't have any this time around.

For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team??
    Baseball- Astron
Football (college only)- OU or OSU, anybody familiar with OK football, don't judge me! I don't like picking sides haha
  • @mommathoner that is obnoxious! Can your OB recommend a better PT place for you? Some where that has experience in dealing with pregnant women?

The PT has actually been wonderful, but he is at a loss because my progress seems to be regressing. Got a call back from the orthopedic doc's office after lunch - MRI is scheduled for next week! Hopefully I will get some answers and he will be forced to come up with a better treatment plan.
  • @LMNOBaby   My OB office doesn't carry it but they told me Walgreens, CVS or any pharmacy that does immunizations should have it.  I'm not sure if they take insurance, so I'm going to check with the urgent care (their website says they have it but I need to call and make sure)
  • @MKJeffrey2002 Thanks!  I was just thinking about an urgent care/walk-in clinic.  I want my husband to get it too, so it'd be easy enough if we went together (and then I can confirm he actually got it and didn't run in fear of the needle... :p )
  • Sorry to hear that, @ignoscemihi ! I WAS ignoring my problems until I felt a huge snap in my knee around 25 weeks. I was barely able to walk for a few days ... Did some PT and felt better, but now I'm back to limping around. At first I was hopeful I could get back to running, but now I'd be happy just walking without pain!
  • Ouch @mommathoner!  Mine is just an overuse injury, so ignoring it isn't a huge deal.  Your injury sounds incredibly painful.  I hope you can run again after baby comes.
  • @lmnobaby just make sure you ask about billing when you call. Our urgent care wanted $80 for it for my husband, whereas our family doc was able to bill it to insurance and it was $0 out of pocket. I would hate for you to pay double for both of you if you didn't have to! We checked our pharmacy and health dept too, but you had to pay outright there too.

We've had good luck with CVS and vaccines for my husband. He never goes to the doctor. With the TDap- if you are pregnant you get it but anyone else can get it every 10 years. So my husband didn't need to get it.

Regarding the breast pump- with tufts insurance I just got a prescription and went to a medical supply store that carried the pump I wanted. I did have to pay $100 because we had a deductible for medical equipment but it was pretty easy.

this time around I just have to go to the blue cross blue shield website (new job, new insurance) and can order directly from there via medela and I don't have to pay anything! Just need the info on the prescription to input! But I can't do it until I am 60 days of my due date. And my actual due date isn't until November 8th but I am delivering by October 19th. I also get discounts of BFing supplies if I order through the site. Just haven't researched it to see if the discount is better than the babies r u sales.

@lmnobaby I hope it's as easy as a process for you!
  • Thanks @ignoscemihi @ashleyp625 and @serenaxo84 - going to do a little insurance research/calling around tomorrow to see what's the most cost efficient! I was definitely hoping it would be covered by insurance!!
  • How far along are you? 28+4

How did your appointment go overall? Well! I had my glucose test (still waiting on the results) and a little check in. I can't believe that I've reached the point where my appointments are now every 2 weeks. It sounded so far away when I went for my first appointment at 6w!

    Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes - I'm still concerned about my weight gain, but my doctor says I'm fine. I just feel like I gained a LOT this past month. Since I had some issues with my anatomy scan, she's ordering another ultrasound in a few weeks to make sure everything is still okay. Not going to argue with another chance to see baby!

For Fun: Baseball's in full swing, and I can smell football season, it's so close - What's your favorite sports team??
The only sport I really follow is soccer. I'm an Arsenal fan and love watching English Premier League. I do play fantasy football with my husband and our friends just so I have something to motivate me during football season. He's a huge NY Giants fan so I like to at least know what he's talking about.

How did your appointment go overall? Overall good. I had an ultrasound to make sure that my placenta was moving up, and it had moved up just fine. But, we found out that Peanut's estimated weight is 3 lbs 5 oz, which puts him in the 93rd percentile for weight. Yikes!! Doctor told me to walk more, and also try to limit my carb intake. I am really paranoid about having a large baby, as I am really hoping to have a natural, med-free delivery. So I am completely on board with exercising more, and eating healthier. Definitely room for improvement in both of those areas. I also had to get the Rhogam shot, and both my husband and I got the TDAP vaccine.

    Any ultrasound or doppler? Ultrasound.

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes! Had a bunch of questions on Peanut's high weight, and she reassured me that ultrasound weight predictions are not that accurate. She said to not put too much emphasis on his estimated weight, but it still wouldn't hurt to exercise more and eat healthier. She also recommended pediatricians, and told us how to schedule our hospital tour.

How did your appointment go overall? Saw the nurse practitioner again this appointment. Appointment was quick and went well.

Any ultrasound or doppler?  Doppler, heart rate at 152.

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Extra strength Zantac has ceased working, so I'll be starting on a prescription for for acid reflux.  She also recommended wrist splints to wear at night while sleeping to help with the pregnancy induced carpel tunnel.

    Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Mostly. I forgot to ask whether I really *had* to see the dietitian about my GD. I mean, I know what I'm doing. But I guess I'll go anyway. Baby was lazy today but she was measuring good and her heartbeat was good and the doctor saw her move a little when she was doing the doppler. Like I had said, it wasn't that she was not moving, she was just subdued. Since I've gotten home with dinner out with my folks she's been moving (even though my glucose was high... maybe baby likes it that way).

    No sports. Never sports.
