What's up next (appointments/ milestones/ anniversaries)? 6 days old
Rants/ Raves/Symptoms: Tons of pain, swelling and not having gone to the bathroom in a week! After going in on the 27th to be induced they sent me home 36 hours later to get down rest in my own bed.::: after cytotec, cervadil and pitocin didn't work. Came back on Sunday as they told us to at 5pm to do it all over again..: instead this time we did 4 rounds of cytotec instead of 3 and then we started pitocin no cervadil. They decided to break my water.... My water bag had been broken for 18 hours and I had been pushing for about 5 they finally decided to do the c-section. There's so many other things that went wrong and happened but I am just so glad she is finally here and safe.
My RAVE almost forgot! Huge shout out to DH he has been amazing through this whole thing! Couldn't have done it without him. I'm so helpless at home with not being able to do much and he is just so amazing.
Im so in love with our baby girl almost a week old and she amazes me everyday!
GTKY - You are my sunshine.
Ava born 8.2.16 9lb 2oz 20.5 inches at 11:05am via C-section.
Me: 31 & Husband: 40 Married: November 2014
M/C: 8/27/2012 - EDD: 3/22/13
BFP:11/19/15 (4 days after our 1yr wedding anniversary!)
Our rainbow baby will be here 7/27/2016 (Arrived 8/2/2016)
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: He has started smiling this week! My heart bursts every time. He is also alert so much more and it's really amazing how much he's grown in four weeks. I'm a little sad with how many clothes don't fit him already. Half his 0-3 is too small and he's now into 3-6 months, slow down little guy!
GTKY: Made up songs to the tune of Rubber Ducky and Queen songs, especially Bicycle Race. It's the perfect song for bicycle pumps
I forgot I never even replied to my own post! Congrats @Lynna813 Status Update: 3w 2d
What's up next (appointments/ milestones/ anniversaries)? Nothing until MJ's monthly appt.
Rants/ Raves/Symptoms: I am feeling soooooo much better these last few days. Before whenever MJ would cry I would stress the f out now I've gotten comfortable with his crying. We've also found different ways to sooth him, especially when the 5 S's don't do anything. Yesterday, we left him with my mom and aunt while we did a target run. It was our first time away from him and surprisingly, all three of us did well!!
GTKY - do you sing to your baby? If so, what do you sing? Ok I have forgotten all my Spanish lullabies that were sung to me as a kid and I don't really know any ones in English very well. I end up singing regular songs. MJ is a big fan of Boyz II Men and the Jackson 5 these days so that's what we are singing!
What's up next (appointments/ milestones/ anniversaries)? No doc's appt for a while (until the 4 mo checkup). Went to my office today to introduce baby to everyone both at the daycare and to my coworkers. That was fun!
Rants/ Raves/Symptoms: Rant - Feeling exhausted. She had one of her first real tantrums today and we had a lot of trouble soothing her. It lasted for hours. And once she finally calmed down DH felt the need to tell me that he gets frustrated when I ask him to do things a particular way (minor things, nothing important). Wrong timing dude, I'm about to cry, and I got her to calm down. I just want to lay down and do nothing. Also it looks like a tornado just went through our entire house, I can't fathom needing to clean everything up once again, though I give DH props for doing a lot of cleaning on a regular basis.
GTKY - do you sing to your baby? If so, what do you sing? Nursery rhymes in my native language. I found them on youtube to remind myself of the lyrics, I actually realized that for most of them I only knew the chorus so it's been fun learning the other parts @Kellyj103 youtube probably also has them in spanish, though Boyz II Men sounds amazing I think I'm gonna do that as well...
What's up next (appointments/ milestones/ anniversaries)? Just had his 1 month appointment. Possibly seeing a specialist about lip/tongue tie issues.
Rants/ Raves/Symptoms: Rave: He is SO smiley! Weighed in at 10lb 14oz at his 1 month.
Rant: Breastfeeding issues and gas/belly issues
GTKY - do you sing to your baby? If so, what do you sing? I sing him anything I listen to/think of/is stuck in my head. Through my pregnancy (and still) I always sang him Simple Man, Hallelujah, Love is Your Name (and a few others) I also sing him pretty much all Disney songs. Especially the lullaby type song from Lilo and Stitch. Lately the random thrown in song has been "Heathens" by 21 Pilots
What's up next (appointments/ milestones/ anniversaries)? We're supposed to get an ultrasound on his hip soon but we've have scheduling difficulties. They don't think there's a problem but I was born with congenital hip dysplasia and I have hypermobility so they just want to get the ultrasound to be sure everything is where it's supposed to be. Then we have his 2 month appt on Sept 1st.
Rants/ Raves/Symptoms: So many smiles over here! Every day I feel like he is connecting with us more and becoming more aware and social, it's so fun!
My rant is that while I am feeling more and more connected to M and to my husband, I am feeling extremely disconnected from most other people. I don't have a lot of friends with kids so most of my friends just seem uncomfortable I guess, or like they couldn't care less. I need to make some cool mom friends haha.
GTKY - do you sing to your baby? If so, what do you sing? All the time! And a little of everything. Fleetwood Mac, Hall and Oates, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, the other day I sang him NSYNC in the car and he stopped crying and just stared at me in the mirror, obviously entranced with my five part harmonies.
