I'm drawing a total blank on how I should be dressing the boys under Muslin blankets swaddled, then eventually swaddle me sleep sacks. DS ran hot so we had him in a onesie for a few weeks under a swaddle for temperature regulation reasons until he hit a certain weight. He eventually went to diaper and sleep sack but that was in the heat of summer.
How have you/will you layer under swaddle for a winter baby?
Re: Layering under Swaddles
side, especially bedrooms. With my fall babies I dressed them in a short sleeve onesie, sleeper or gown and a swaddle and if they were sleeping separate from me a hat in early days. Also most co-sleeping recommendations say that it's unsafe to sleep with a swaddled baby. I usually have them at least 6-12 inches away from my body if they are swaddled in bed with me or I unswaddle them, but would encourage further study on that topic...

This kiddo, if she let's her arms be wrapped up, it'll be a short sleeve onsie plus whatever we use. If she sleeps arms out then she'll get a long sleeve onsie or light footie pajama under the sack.

Side note: is it just me, or are gowns way more of a PITA than they look like they'd be?!
anyway, muslin swaddles aren't very thick, so if you live where the winter will be cold (I'm in CT, so winter is pretty chilly!) I think a cotton sleeper and a swaddle would be sufficient.
@jennbaylor12 squee! I can't wait to have another little squishy baby burrito!
