Braxton Hicks?

FTM, so not positive that this is truly Braxton Hicks, but I've been having some tightening sensations (no pain) in the area around my uterus. I noticed it a couple of weeks ago, but didn't really pay too much attention until now. From what I've read, it is more common in 3rd tri, but it can happen during 2nd tri. Anyone else experiencing this?

  • All the time.

  • Yeah daily or almost everyday for several weeks now.
  • I've definitely been getting them.  This is my fourth baby, and they seem to be happening earlier with each pregnancy.
  • Yep, they started around this time w/ DS too. Just pay attention to your body; if they start to hurt or seem like they're coming frequently, slow down, get some water, and check in with your doctor

  • Started weeks ago for me

  • Yep, I've been dealing with them for a few weeks now too! I mentioned it at my appointment yesterday and it was no big deal. If they're BH, they should go away after you drink water or change positions.

  • I've started experiencing them too. The other day, they actually started to get a little painful, so I called the doctor, and she said if it's not accompanied by blood, unusual discharge, back pain, or other signs of labor, then it's probably normal. So I took it easy the rest of the day, and sure enough, they haven't been painful since.
  • I didn't have them with my first child, but I get them everyday, many times a day with my second pregnancy.  My dr said it's much more common for baby #2 and can related to the fact that I never really get to sit and relax because I'm either working or with a toddler who doesn't have much sympathy for the fact that I'm pregnant.  I have found that by having my DH cook dinner each night and pick up more slack, the frequency has reduced over the past two weeks.  Good luck and make sure to check in with your dr.

  • I am finally getting these, but usually more in the afternoon and in the evenings. It's definitely just more uncomfortable than anything else. I just deep breathe if it happens if I'm sitting on the couch.

  • I don't know if it's BH, but I feel something when I exercise. Painless, but yeah...sort of like a muscle is being flexed. I try to feel my ute to see if it's hard, but I can't really tell.

  • I think I have this - It knocks me out of breath a little and it is constricted so it is a bit painful but nothing crazy. This has only happened in the ladies room at work on two occasions. I move positions and walk around and breathe and it goes away?
