I really want to get a nice camera once LO gets here. I do have a smart phone that takes okay pictures but I feel like I don't take as many pictures or that I really save them elsewhere or print them off from my phone. It has been years since I bought a camera and need all the help I can get.
So basically, I'm clueless. I want a nice camera (preferably one I can change lenses on if needed or upgrade when i'm able) and would like to spend around $500, maybe a little more if I find out that won't be enough for what I want.
Thanks for the input!

Mirrorless cameras are right up there with the dslrs except they're a lot smaller which I really like and the one I have is very user friendly. Check out b&h photography online. They have really good prices and sometimes include extras with your purchase. I got a free camera bag, battery and sd card with my camera
