I was home alone with my toddler per usual. We had a great weekend, lots of small adventures and relaxing around the house. I told my husband this yesterday "I'm about to pat myself on the back, so watch out. I promised myself Emmett would have a full Summer and not miss out because of this pregnancy, and I think I've given him a fantastic Summer even if it's been hard on me.. I'm really proud of myself!"
He agreed and I got all choked up. I can be very hard on myself, but recognized my own achievement. I do realize I've been blessed with 2 very easy pregnancies, I don't mean for this to guilt or shame any STM+ who have had to slow down considerably this Summer, there are plenty of times that I probably should have!
This happened on Friday, but close enough to the weekend... gave my urine sample at the OB's without peeing on my hand! I'm 100% sure that's a first for me.
Had a great and busy weekend (farmer's market, swimming, got mani/pedi, had a successful sexy time), but that was still my #1 highlight.
I feel like a got a ton of non baby stuff accomplished. DH and I both got oil changes, I ordered new glasses, same prescription but mine were so scratched I couldn't see. DH got a TDAP shot. Saw my BIL and SIL.
Last but not least I went to total wine (liqueur store on steroids) and got my favorite local wine and a build your own 6 pack of all my favorite stuff. Can't wait to try some!!!
ETA: I also totally forgot until last night I took a PTO day today. There is a huge storm rolling in and I am so glad I don't have to go to work in it!
I was able to sneak away for a movie and time with DH while the boys enjoyed some time with the babysitter and we had a birthday party for DS on Sunday. I consider both a huge success!
I'm also supposed to be working from home today, but instead made pirate eyepatches and played baseball with the kids.
Crammed an entire weekend into 1 day because it was my Saturday work rotation. On Sunday, I attended a friend's bridal shower and got to catch up with friends, some of whom I haven't seen since college or my own wedding two years ago. The shower started at 11 and ended by 1 (totally awesome). Then, I went to my parent's and spent the afternoon in their pool before heading home to enjoy the Olympics. DH spent the weekend woodworking with my dad and they made a bunch of awesome wooden trucks and tractors for Neil.
We were asked to staff our Temple's book sale. The Temple is selling off all of the books from the old library. For a variety of reasons, almost no one showed up for the sale. DH and I had enough time to go through through the children's book selection. Many of the books looked as if they were barely read, and there were a bunch of non-religious books as well, including Hop on Pop and other books we had registered for. At 50 cents a book, we came home with over 30 books.
Baby shower #2 was a success. I sorted through all the gifts and I have put them in totes getting ready for the move. I washed all the baby clothes I've gotten so far. I made some serious headway on the baby blanket I am crocheting.
Ooh @kosmo86 great idea!! I recently found a place that has tons of different locally (or at least New England) made ciders..and I'm a total cider fanatic. I definitely should go stock up so that I have some fun new ones to try once LO is here and I can indulge again!
My mini win is that I got some of the nursery/guest room put together. I finally got the guest bed put together and in place, which makes me feel a tiny bit better about that room. The crib will be done this week, I can't wait until I can actually get to decorating the space, instead of just organizing! We also did the second coat of paint on our living room yesterday which was a big deal because I was afraid that after moving in, it would never get done. Now I can relax about painting and just worry about the nursery (oh, and organizing everything else in the house!!)
We put the Pack N Play together on Saturday evening. I thought those things were supposed to be easy?! We got the kind that had a changing table and bassinet in the top and it seriously took like an hour and a half to assemble. Maybe it just takes a couple tries to get faster?! I felt like a moron. We went to Barnes and Noble last night just to get a coffee and read magazines. I could do that for hours; my DH not so much lol.
We got all of baby's sleeping surfaces this weekend! We got a tiny PnP for our bedroom while she stays with us and finally got the crib mattress. Now I just need to add the final decorative touches to the nursery but everything else is ready for baby. It's a weird mix of scary and exciting.
Got the queen bed out of our guest room so we can turn that into M's nursery. Managed to walk a block and a half without dying. Watched a LOT of Olympics coverage.
Saturday night DH and I made fish tacos (so yummy), and went to see Suicide Squad. I've avoided going to the movies the last couple of weeks because our theatre is ANCIENT and the seats are uncomfortable when I'm not pregnant, but being pregnant I might as well be sitting on a cement slab for 2 hours. But this time I was so into the movie I didn't even have to get up and walk around the back of the theatre because my ass hurt. They also forgot to charge us for our large popcorn, which considering how expensive movie theatre popcorn is, is a huge win for me. And got our frame collage for babies side of our room put up! So in love with it, I just keep going in and staring at it because it's exactly how I pictured it.
Ran a bunch of errands, picked up a ton of second hand baby clothes from my sister, cleaned the bathroom and the washing machine, did 8 bazillion loads of laundry AND unwrapped 8 bazillion baby gadgets from the showers. So. Much. Packaging.
And to top it all of I only had one minor freak out and yelled at DH only once (it was moderately deserved)!!
I had a great shower at work Friday night, set up the PnP, and my mom volunteered to take all three kids for the weekend so I could rest/nest. DH and I made a ton of freezer meals and we were able to finish spackleing (sp?) and painting the basement. Not to mention I got all of the shower stuff put away in time for us to have one last kid free date night for the foreseeable future.
And sex. There was sex. Definitely a win I've not had in awhile.

I got a similar pack and play and my husband was in Europe when it arrived so naturally I tasked myself to put it together. It took me close to two hours to get it all installed.
I got everything on my to-do list checked off and still was able to lounge about on Sunday and watch a House Hunters marathon.
Got one chair on Friday, the second was delivered today and I got the car seats in both cars yesterday. I will admit I may or may not have attempted to put them in wrong the first time.
@Yellowrose314 how was Suicide Squad?? I'm reading a lot of mixed reviews, so not sure if I want to see it in theater.
On Friday after work, I went to the mall to pick up two pairs of "best ever" socks at Hanna Andersson for LO. Turns out the store was 25% off so was able to pick up an extra pair. On Saturday I had lunch with my fave aunt who gave LO a cute outfit, including a mini faux fur vest. DH was able to get off early and we spent the evening in, watching movies (Netflix, but no chill, sigh). Yesterday DH set up the curtains in LO's nursery, put together her bedside bassinet, vacuumed our downstairs, and helped me make dinner (beef ragu in our pressure cooker) after we had brunch and went grocery shopping in the AM.
@frogdog06 I still don't know how I feel about it. Margot Robbie was AWESOME as Harley Quinn. I enjoyed the movie, but it didn't blow me away like I was hoping. But I'm not mad I spent money to see it, so that's something!
