Carseat

I was given 2 really nice gently used strollers. I gave one away to someone desperately in need (I don't need 2), but now I'm stressing about finding an infant carseat. I can't find one that matches the stroller (it's a brown Graco...almost a microsuede material, with beige and light blue dots on it) ....and it seems that the car seats with bases cost almost the same as travel systems. I don't want to sound dumb, but I would like them to match somewhat, and if I can't get them to match, I want to buy a decent carseat...with at least 2 bases... any suggestions?

Re: Carseat

  • What is the exact make and model of your stroller? Do you need them to match as in color-coordinating? Or do you want them to match as in "this car seat is compatible with this stroller"?

To be honest, I wouldn't be worried about the former. At all. I know many people stop using the car seat with the car seat once the baby is able to sit up on their own and just ride along in the seat that is in the stroller... or at least that is what I plan to do the majority of the time. My friends baby hated riding around in the stroller when she was in the car seat once she could sit up - she found it difficult to see anything!!

  • ^^^ agreed. I'd just find something that is compatible and that you like as a car seat. I hardly used my stroller and only used the infant seat for about 6 mo. So I wouldn't sweat the matching patterns part since the likelihood is using them together for very long isn't great.
  • I also wouldn't sweat the matching patterns because as I recall, my kids vomited, peed, and poop blow-outed in that crazy car seat. I would take the liner out and wash and each time it came out a lighter color. Also Cheerios. Everywhere.
