I'm trying to find a midwife in north Alabama. Preferably near Madison county. I found one in Harvest but she won't be taking anymore clients til 2018. Help?
This would be a great post for your specific region group. If you search through the other community groups you should find it. This group has women from all different states and countries and many of us have never been pregnant so we aren't familiar with many midwives unless we use them for well woman checks. Good luck!
OP, why did you ask this on the Trying To Get Pregnant board? This would go over much better in the First Trimester board or one of the regional boards. They probably have one for Alabama.

This is a TRYING to get pregnant board. I don't have or need a midwife, and thanks for reminding me of that on CD2. Try Google. Yelp is also a thing.

I'm going to agree with the others that you'd almost certainly have better luck in the Alabama board. I live across the country from you and I have no idea about midwives near me. If I don't even know about midwives near me then I definitely don't know about midwives in other states.

Kind of odd to ask this on a board for ladies trying to get pregnant, many or most who do not live in your area. Ask your OB, or like the others said, Google. Good luck.

Hi! PPs have given you some great suggestions! I hope you are able to find the information you are looking for in any number of the above-mentioned places. :D
I guess I am just confused... If you are looking for a midwife in your specific area, then, perhaps you are already pregnant? Most of us are not pregnant at this time, because we are TTGP, and betting most of us do not live in your geographical area, because we come from all over the actual planet. ;) So I agree that a local board, 1st tri board, or Google, Yahoo, Altavista, duckduckgo... Bing... any of those places would be slightly more qualified to answer your specific question. And wil probably require some more phonecalls and digging...
If, on the other hand, you are *also* not entirely pregnant at this time, and just looking for a midwife in your area because, "duh! Of COURSE I need to line up my midwife while TTC," then WELCOME!!! I totally get it, and you are in the right place. Feel free to jump into the WTO/TWW threads and enjoy the ride!

FWIW I totally have had my midwife lined up since like, December. And she's got an awesome ob in the same office. Maybe some people think of it the other way around, but I don't. And apparently this is one of the few hospitals around who even still permits the midwives. So I'm glad I figured that all out ahead of time. Puts my mind at ease, bc there are no birthing centers in this state, and now I have somewhat of a plan of where to go once I DO get my bfp.
NOW LADIES. I thought we were going to start being nicer to people??? Telling her to use BING? Are you serious? This is bordering on abusive.
