Bloody show,sign of early labor?

Oh boy... so yesterday I noticed a little spotting in my pad so last night I put on a fresh pad before going to bed and this morning there is definetly some bloody show. My OBs office doesn't open for another 40 mins so I am going to call as soon as I can. Ill be 36w on Friday and scheduled to be induced on Aug 26th at 39w. Water hasn't broken and I am having BH but nothing super strong or consistent. Is bloody show normal or a sign that this kiddo is a few days away? Im worried when I get to the hospital to see my OB they are just going to check me in an get this party started. Im so not prepared for that...

Are you having any contractions? It could be a sign of labor, or it could just be your cervix changing or dilating. With DD1 my early labor contractions started not long after I had bloody show, but I've heard that some spotting can happen a week or so before you deliver.

Sending good thoughts your way! It seems a lot of us are having some pre or early labor signs this week.

No consistent contractions, but baby is moving and kicking around a lot and there is some tightening in my abdomen but nothing timeable, I don't think. I did just get switched from lovenox to heparin (blood thinner, also why I am being induced) so I wonder if the bleeding is bc of that. I really want this baby to cook a little longer, but if he want to make an early appearance that's fine too! 15 mins and counting till ob office opens...

I am having the same exact thing that you are describing! I will be 36 weeks on Saturday. I have been having globs of brown blood tinged mucus since Monday. Good luck and let me know how everything goes for you!!

Did you call??? With DD I called about having blood and they asked me to go in to be checked at the hospital! Got there and they were waiting for me because the dr's office had called them letting them know I was on my way. I was in active labor.

I just heard back from OB, they said to lay low and continue to monitor bleeding from home. The spotting is probably my cervix thinning which means my body is getting ready for delivery but could be 2 days or 2 weeks. They want me to come in at 9am tmrw to check my cervix and decided then if they want to admit me. But said to bring a bag just in case! I just threw all the baby clothes/linens in the wash and going to do my best to "relax" today...

I had that at 37w and still never went into natural labor. Maybe you won't need induced after all. Fingers crossed baby cooks a wee bit longer.

Just try to rest. If baby come at 36 weeks everything should be just fine. Some women lose their mucus plug and don't go into labor for weeks. Whenever I lose mine I go into labor the next day.

**UPDATE** Just got home from OB and we are going to cook a little longer, yay!! Im dialated to 1, 50% effaced, his head is low and she could feel it, and there was some blood when she checked me. We're going to keep the scheduled induction date as the 26th but she thinks he will probably come on his own in the next 1-2 weeks! Eeek!

And thanks for all the thoughts and words of encouragement/advice! You ladies are the bomb!!

Yay for the reassuring news! Happy to hear baby is looking good! 1-2 weeks...it's the final countdown! How exciting (and simultaneously terrifying, I'm sure)!
