We booked our trip to Disney for next June and seeing our sons name on our reservations literally made me cry tears of joy. (Granted when the lady asked how many in our party, I said 2, lol whoops, it's going to take some time to get used to!) I know he'll only be 9 months, but we are still so excited to bring him for his first time. We are going with our cousins who have a 5 yr old and it's her first time going as well and it's just going to be so fun seeing all this thru their eyes. Something to really look forward too!
Married 11-11-11 TTC only since Dec 2015. I had some weight to get off. Been working hard in the gym for over a year. BFP 02-15-16 with our first IT'S A BOY!!!
Husband and I had an excellent weekend. Lately I've been really moody so we've been bickering a lot, but not this weekend. Yesterday I laughed so hard I was crying and thought I may pee myself. It was really good to be like our old selves again.
LO turned one Friday, he started walking a week before so go to show off his sweet walking skills to everyone at his birthday party Saturday, everybody had a really good time, and CAKE. We got to have DS all weekend, and after we dropped him back off (100+ miles to his bio-mom's new home...) FI and I had a really nice two hour trip back home just getting to talk and be alone with each other and reconnect. I didn't realize how long it had been since we had spend any kind of "just us" time! **unsolicited advice: Get in every moment you can with your SO now whIle you're still able!** I am so happy my sister watched our younger two so we didn't have to drag the poor things out on a four hour round trip. I had a pretty great weekend all around
I get to fly home and see my family this week! I'm from NY but living in OK, so it's kind of hard being away from my mom/sisters during my first pregnancy. But I will get to spend a week back home and I'm so happy/excited! (Plus all the NY pizza and bagels I can eat- aww yea)
My co-workers completely surprised me today & gifted me with a gift certifiate for a 3D/4D sonogram and the bear with the baby's recorded heartbeat in it! I am so overjoyed and humbled by their generosity & thoughtfulness. I really wanted to do this, especially for the memories, but just couldn't see spending the money on it right now when it's not really a priority. This is the coolest gift ever! Just made the appt for Thursday - can not wait to our sweet baby's face!!

Found my hostess presents today! I got the althea plants. We had a couple at my house growing up (which is where my aunts, who are throwing the shower, also grew up) so I'm going to write them some sweet note about welcoming a member of the new generation and remembering previous generations or something. It's also nice because there happens to be an althea at our house which I really liked because we had one growing up. I'm going to pretty them up by wrapping them in tulle - two in pink and two in blue so I don't give anything away.
my former roommate and partner in crime and I "broke up" a few years ago. she's getting married and I wasn't invited and I didn't invite her to my shower
today I got a present from her. out of the blue sent to me from my registry. total olive branch and I think things will finally be ok like 5 years later.
A few weeks ago I posted that I was freaking out because my visa extension wasn't being processed. Well last week they still hadn't opened it so I let my DH loose on them (and he reallllly let loose) and we had my interview this morning. It's a long story but the short version is: Not only am I now a permanent German resident, I will NOT be giving birth in the Ukraine, my health insurance will NOT be suspended and my contract at work will NOT be cut short (which also means I'll get Kindergeld). I AM SO RELIEVED! Then we celebrated with ice cream sundaes

My sister is completely awesome! I've been stressing out over not being able to find a dresser for LO that could double as a changing table. It's the only piece of furniture that we still need! My mother mentioned this to my sister (who refinishes antiques into AMAZING pieces) and she went to her favorite dealer and got a gorgeous dresser to refinish in our nursery colors as a shower gift. Not that it was ever in question, but, I love that girl!
