Re: WTF Wednesday?

  • I'm so looking forward to this!! I'm sure I'll have a number of WTF moments at work today...I always do!

  • @ShanRum3 I am debating on even showing up to work today. Ha! This is my last shift before a five day stretch off. I really want to save my PTO for maternity leave, but I really don't want to go in either.

  • @midwestbaby I know the feeling!  I work today, have tomorrow off,  then work a 7 day stretch before my leave starts, unless baby boy arrives before then, but I'm not holding my breath! I'm so ready to be done!  We are resetting huge sections of the store this week and next week,  so I pretty much have to be there to help supervise and get projects done. I'm also the only Manager on Duty for pretty much all my shifts from here on out, so it would be super difficult to call off! :(
  • That stinks that you are the only manager on duty. I keep trying to mentally talk myself into going in so I can get through this shift.

I understand!  At this point,  it's so much of a mind game! Drives me crazy!
  • 3:30 a.m. here and I am up too. Had a lot of back pain last night and was really hoping to wake up in labor, but just can't sleep. I am at the point where going to work is exhausting (just a long day), but staying at home is uncomfortable and boring--plus it eats up my maternity leave. Sleep would make going to work a lot easier, but it doesn't seem to be happening.
  • @kristynmac This summarizes exactly how I feel. The never ending struggle/circle of no sleep, work, and end game exhaustion/madness.

  • @Kristynmac that's how I feel as well.  Woke up at 3:15 with strong period like cramping that was constant and wouldn't go away.  Was hopeful it was transition into labor, but no luck.  Was able to fall asleep around 5, and cramping was gone when I woke up at 6:30.  Now I'm getting ready for work and hoping I don't go into labor while there.  A full night sleep sounds amazing!  It also does not help that work is very stressful right now, and I just want to be focusing on wrapping things up for my leave.
  • My body is so sore today. It feels like I slept wrong on my neck, had a super intense work out and the crotch pain. All I did yesterday was go to a few stores with my mom.
  • WTF to all the guys that feel the need to tell DH about their wife's childbirth?! Please just stop. He gets it, its not all pretty and rainbows. He has-for the most part-not freaked out, and called to ask if some things are true or even asked my doctor about stuff, but I just want to yell at these guys. Everyone's experience is different and he is already equally nervous and excited, so no need to freak him out.
  • @lotsofsunshine I'm pretty sure if anyone calls my baby theirs when she is finally here I'm gonna go nuts on them. How do people realize this is not ok to say?

  • Trying to put close on is just to much to do, my legs and thighs are sore and just putting underwear is a damn work out, it hurts
  • I had the hardest time sleeping last night. Why does it seem like the only time by body will let me settle into a deep sleep is around like, 5:30am? My alarm goes off at 6:45, so thanks for the little nap, body.  :/
  • My WTF is to time. Seriously, where does it go? My oldest started 3rd grade today and we registered DS2 for Kindergarten this morning. I need them to stop growing up so fast!

@Hannah0726 I can understand that! MIL tried to tell me the other day how much she cant wait to hold the baby... I responded with "Not as much as me and DH.. We are first!" She acted extremely offended. Which I get it, she is excited.. But she is acting so possessive of the baby and is trying to put herself in the middle of everything.

    Edited because words are hard.
  • WTF to this account DH and I paid off back in June that was about $1,500. Beginning of July they billed us by accident for $45 even though our account was supposed to be closed and paid in full, they were super apologetic and nice about it but we didn't see that money in our account till a month later which was pretty annoying. Well, just checked our bank and they billed us AGAIN!! I called them and gave them a little piece of my mind and the lady has no clue what's going on so she's having accounting look at it and call me back...so annoyed. $45 isn't even a big deal but the fact the account should be CLOSED and we paid it off and we don't see the money, that they should have never took out, till a month later is ridiculous to me.
  • @Lynnlove28 I'm mad for you. I hate when people don't understand that this is also a major medical event for mama. People need to learn to not be so self centered. Grrr.

@MamaKSquared Hang in there labor buddy! I keep checking my email to see if you are in labor. Not much longer for you!!

I slept through the night meaning DH was on night duty from 1 am - 7 am so when I got ready to nurse baby, I looked down on my right boob and saw a spider web from my nipple to baby's cheek.

Naturally, I wanted to break the web so I tried grabbing it only to find out that it was actually my breast milk squirting out from all that pressure of not pumping throughout the night!

Lesson learned, nature. I shall pump or breastfeed my baby to relieve the pressure going forward. Geez...
I feel your pain. Though I'm always on night duty, Levi sleeps a 4 or so hour stretch and then another 3 right after that. I realized the other night after the 4 hour stretch the boob he was not eating from was spraying everywhere. I now pump after both those feedings. Not only does it hurt if I don't, but that's a lot of milk to waste! And it's not good for your supply to go 6 hours without feeding or pumping, so definitely try to pump once on your nights off
  • I've been sitting in the lobby of my doctors office for an hour. I understand being behind but good gracious, I was even 15 mins early. I went by Starbucks and got some coffee so baby would be moving during the NST but at this point he's gonna be back asleep.
  • wtf to work overload, i am exhausted today for some reason and pains aren't helping them.
  • Applying for maternity leave through my company's new system has been a royal pain in the ass. No one can give me a straight answer. It is so frustrating!!!

  • WTF to the blood gas engineer who is here fixing one of our analyzers. He keeps staring at me and my belly. It is officially creeping me out. Yes, I am pregnant, stop staring!

Also WTF to the co-worker who thought it was a good idea to tell me that the lab manager at one of our sister hospitals who was due a few days after me had her baby today. "OMG can you believe she had her baby already and she is due after you?!" ugggghhhhhhh!

My wtf is to work and all the last minute craziness going on. My brain can't handle it. I know maternity leave is no walk in the park but I am excited to just not really think for a while.

  • I'm with @LWC1112 about work being my WTF? I knew I had a reset in a few areas of the store today, but didn't think it would take all Effing day to do. Shit just moved all over the place, with no rhyme or reason! And being the only Manager on Duty for the majority of my shift, I didn't get it finished because I had to babysit and hold everyone else's hand all day! I'm so over working!  I'm off tomorrow,  then a 7 day stretch before maternity leave starts!
