We are having our wedding BBQ this Saturday for all the people that were not part of our real wedding ( it was on a mountain and only immediate family). In preparation, my house is officially cleaner than it ever has been! And that's saying something because I'm a neat freak!
I have been in my current position for the last 5.5 years, and almost 15 years total with the company (various roles). I have been wanting out for a LONG time now, but never got any offers for different positions I had applied for. It wasn't really the job, but more so a couple of the individuals I work with. I get a long with most people, but these two... just awful. They're both pretty negative people, so working with them just brings you down even if you're as positive as can be. I nicknamed one Eyeore, which I guess he has said some friends have called him too. Go figure. The other is a know-it-all, and not just work related stuff... but EVERYTHING in life. Oh, she took a class about a certain topic in college? Now she's an expert! Anyway...
My boss always sent out job information that he was passed on, and one of the last ones I figured I'd take a bite at. I had never worked in that department (but always kind of wanted to), but figured maybe they would want a fresh face. I interviewed 2 weeks ago, felt great about the interview (it was more conversational than question/answer). The manager who interviewed me said she would let me know by the end of the month. So last week I was anxious to hear and after getting back from lunch one day got an invite for a quick meeting with the manager... and got offered the position!! I was so happy.
Not only will I be off this team and doing something I have never done for more experience (scared and excited at the same time), it's 2 pay levels above what I am making now, and feel that DH and I will now be in good places financially. He got a good bump in pay this year, too. I don't start until the end of the month, but am counting down the days.

Congrats @Kacie209!!! That's awesome! Hopefully there are no eyores or miss know it all a there! And wahoo for more $! You so deserve a high five 'virtual high five' lol That lady you described sounded exactly like an ex sister in law of mine: she was an expert on everything! When she was pregnant, she knew just what to do! Then reality hit - she had the baby- and she was crying to me that she didn't know how to deal with him, all of her books weren't working!
@yellingbanana Thank you! I know the chances are there to have these two types of people in my next role, but I could only put up with these two for so long. *lol*
That is funny about your ex SIL. Sometimes my coworkers know-it-all attitude has gotten her in trouble for some stuff she has said, like some coworkers have taken it hard (calling teen moms "problems" in relation to our managers husband getting a job as a counselor at one of the schools in town, when there are 2 gals we work with who were, who were not problems, and their children were raised SO well). I think since that comment she's lightened up some. I was waiting for her 2 cents on my pregnancy (oh, she's NEVER having children due to whatever reasons, which is fine... her choice), but so far not to my face anyway.

@Kacie209 YAY for more $, different people, and getting to keep your maternity leave!!!!!!
My Yahoo moment was L had a poop-y blowout, so I hosed him off in the shower then he and I took a bath. When I asked if he was done, he climbed out of the tub on his own. (Yes I know a 1yo didn't know what I was asking, but he did climb out of the tub on his own)

I made a full dinner with sides today.. All by myself!! That's been pretty impossible for me with exhaustion kicking in around dinner time every day. DH has been a life saver in the dinner department the last few months.
I'll second that. I've actually cooked dinner two nights in a row. I haven't cleaned the kitchen since Saturday and DH has been doing his version of cleaning which is down a tier or two, but I cooked things! Myself! Evening laziness/tiredness has been my king lately. My DH has been amazing in picking up the slack on my end too.
I did 4 loads of laundry tonight and started packing for our week long trip to the lake. We leave Saturday. Grocery list is made, my clothes are half packed and the extra stuff for the family is packed too! I'm pooped!
I cleaned my laundry room and mopped the floor in there and the half bath today. BFF is visiting since DH is out of town and we got a basket together for an auction I'm helping with. And I made dinner. I accomplished a lot more today than I thought I was going to!

Yes it's Wednesday, but I was busy yesterday afternoon/evening and didn't post.
I finished designing Squish's birth announcement! Have to wait on a few things until they arrive (exact birthday, weight and hair color) but it's designed so I can start working on it now! My fingers have been itching to sew something! And DH said I can work at the kitchen table because I lost my craft table to the second bedroom becoming part nursery.
