nursery

I'm thinking about moving our little one to his own room within the next month or so. I've been browsing the web looking for ideas but all I can find is newborn nursery information. What, if anything, would you do differently in a 6 month old's room than a newborn's? I'm probably not going to to anything fancy but I would love to hear your thoughts!

Re: nursery

  • I would focus on baby proofing the room along with the basics (crib, changing area, rocker, etc.). Before you know it baby will be crawling around tugging and getting into everything so secure furniture, outlets, cords, etc while you set up the nursery. A small area to play/read books is also a great idea for an older infant.

  • Great advice, thank you!

  • We set ours up at 4.5 months when we moved. By then she a white noise machine (girl has a serious FOMO and wakes up only to be angry about being awake) and blinds that mostly blocked out the light during naps were super helpful!
  • You might as well drop the crib mattress to the low setting. It doesn't matter right now, but you'll have to move it soon, and it might be easier to do it now so you don't have to later.
