This is a weekly check-in for those in their 1st trimester: weeks 1
through the end of week 13. I know we've all gone through a lot to get
to this point so congratulations and best of luck to all of you over the
next several months!
If you are just joining us, please post a little
about yourself, your EDD (if it’s not listed below- if I left you off
please let me know ) any upcoming appointments, symptoms, etc. Feel
free to also share your IF journey, I know many of us can relate.
QOTW: Do you have any plans/ideas for the nursery yet?
Hi ladies, I'm peeking my head in and was wondering if I could join you. I used to be active on the IF board about 2 years ago but we took a long treatment break after four failed IVF cycles. After taking some time to recover physically and mentally, we decided to try one more time. Words can't describe how seeing that second line felt! We've had strong betas and our first u/s is on Thursday. EDD will be refined then but based on ET date I'm thinking around 3/25/17.
My main symptoms have been... All the symptoms. The biggest ones being exhaustion and queasiness, along with all of the other fun stuff from PIO injections! I'm also having a stuffy nose that seems to be unrelated to allergies or a cold, so that's fun. I have zero complaints, though.
QOTW: Other than cleaning out random clutter (why are we saving broken laptops?!?) from that room... No plans yet. This is something that I'll get excited about soon enough. **TW** The experience is so overwhelming, on top of the fact that I had a prior loss... it's little steps for me right now. I'm looking forward to connecting with others that understand.
Ahhhhh! I'm the next to graduate! Even though I'm 2 1/2 weeks away... It's still exciting! I've had my intake appointment and my first physical exam with my OB. Everything looked great and we can now hear the heartbeat with an external fetal monitor!!! I now listen at home every single day like a lunatic August 9th is my Ultrasound for NTT and other first trimester screenings. August 30th is my appointment at Sweet Peak to determine the gender!!!! Such an exciting month! I have a reveal party to plan!!!!
QOTW: We have many extra bedrooms, so we made the final decision on which room we would use this weekend. We'll be moving all of the furniture out of that room and doing a major cleaning before the end of the month. After our reveal on Labor Day weekend we'll start painting and decorating. Either gender will have an under the sea theme. Fish and fishing for a boy, mermaids for a girl

@NurseTMD85 definitely exciting to move along, I'm glad everything is going great!
QOTW: We already know we are having a girl and will announce the gender to our family on Labor Day weekend. I love the ocean so there will definitely be some ocean inspiration but the decoration will be modern. I have saved a bunch of ideas on Pinterest! We are just in the process of buying our first home, but it's new construction and it seems like it will be ready in March ... So we'll see how that goes. I love to plan ahead and be prepared but once again I'll have to let go and relax !

@scooteriste Welcome! Of course you can join, congrats on your bfp! Good luck at your upcoming ultrasound. I am sorry you have been experiencing so many symptoms... definitely not fun but of course all of us here know that it is sooo worth it .
@nursetmd85 crazy that second tri will be here before we know it! It was exciting for me to get to double digits this weekend. So cool about the heartbeat... I am hoping I get to hear it at my next appointment. What first tri screenings are you doing? And... exciting about finding out the sex! What an awesome month! I love the idea of a sea themed nursery, so cute!
@yellow22 So exciting about your baby girl! It will be so awesome to tell your family and friends
AFM: I am doing much better symptoms wise- in the last nine days I have only had one day of sickness. I think the seabands and vit B6 have been helping. This month I have three appointments which is exciting. August 8th (ultrasound), August 17th (Maternity21 test) and August 22 (midwife appt). August is such a busy month for us too with bachelorette parties, friends' weddings, mine and DH's birthdays... I am also planning on announcing the pregnancy on social media around 13 weeks so I really can't wait for that! When are you all announcing publicly? No clue about the nursery yet, I am waiting to find out the sex, but I have been pining away!!!

@NurseTMD85 - those themes sound adorable and will be so relaxing. @yelllow22 - congrats on the new home! When we built ours, they finished roughly on time, so hopefully yours will go as smoothly! @chicandbubbly - I'm not sure about announcing on social media (when the time comes for that), I'm curious what you guys all think given our respective situations... Those announcements hurt so hard for years and I still want to be sensitive to other closet IF people that I don't know about. Although I did see a cute "pumpkin smuggler" t-shirt that I could totally rock on Halloween and post a pic of DH, the dog and me. The struggle is real!
Hi @scooteriste congrats and welcome! Honestly, my personal opinion about pregnancy announcements is that when I saw announcements from people that I knew were struggling with infertility, it didn't bother me at all, and I actually enjoyed seeing them bc they gave me hope. I worked a long time to get to this point, so I want to be able to celebrate it (also, I was EXTREMELY vocal about our infertility struggle, so I hope I can help give other people struggling hope).
i have been sick to the point of dehydration so I finally cracked and asked my RE if there was anything she recommended. She wrote me a prescription for Diclegis (unisom+B6) and it seems to have helped a lot (but made me very sleepy! Lol). It's been a bit of a struggle, because I literally don't have the energy to feel excited and feel myself wishing away the first tri. I am so excited and thrilled that we got to this point, so I feel guilty complaining about feeling like poo.
QOTW: we know what room we are going to use and plan to clean it out soonish. If we have a boy, we want to do a red white and blue nautical theme, specifically lighthouses, and if we have a girl we plan to do blush with pops of gold and mint, and possibly a bit of a seaside Carolina theme (her name will be Caroline and we got married in the outer banks so we want to tie that in somehow).

@scooteriste I agree with @msirni0 I struggled with it too, but ultimately decided I would do it. I have been pretty open about the IF journey and even though it may hurt for some people, it might gives others some hope. Plus we have a right to be excited after all we've been through to get here.
@msirni0 I'm so jealous that the diclegis is working for you!!!! I've been taking it for weeks and I still feel sick all day long. They also recommended benefiber for my constipation which is also not working. Don't feel bad. I'm counting down the days until this part is over. I tell my DH every single day that this kid is already sucking the life out of me!!!!!! LOL.

Went to my first u/s and I'm officially 6 weeks exactly. Baby is measuring on schedule, and they were able to see a heartbeat, gestational sac, and yolk sac. The doc was surprised how strong the heartbeat was since I was exactly 6 wks and he wasn't sure he'd even see one. So good news all around! I was able to take a video for DH since he couldn't come with me, and now I have a video of the little heartbeat.
I also got the go ahead to go back to my weight lifting as long as I don't over extend myself. He specifically told me no crossfit, but light lifting is OK. YAY! Next u/s is on 8/16. I feel so much more relaxed now. Wheeew! (exhaling)
@chicandbubbly - Confirmed EDD and it is 3/28/17, so I will no longer be a TBD in the above post!! @emgem819 - Looking forward to hearing how your first u/s goes. Keep me posted!

@emgem819 - Got to see it, not hear it, but that is OK. In due time. The best part is I can rewatch my little video I took over and over again to see the flicker of heartbeat. So begins the next two week countdown for the next u/s. It will look so different by then! Also, I made my appt with my OB for the 10 week u/s as they book up fast for appt. and my RE suggested I do that today so I won't have to wait until I'm 12 weeks.

Hello All! I am happy to join you on this thread! I just had my first beta at 617 today! Second beta is on Thursday. I had a FET after IVF and OHSS. This was my first transfer. EDD is April 9th. Symptoms, dizziness in the afternoons and tiredness.
We are having a boy, and I have no idea about a nursery yet.
I'm hoping to give and get support through this group for the next few weeks.

@chicandbubbly don't forget to add me to your list I made my intro on last week's check in board. My EDD as of right now is 4/7/17, we transferred back 2 girl embryos so we know the gender, we just don't know how many yet lol
Glad to see everyone doing well. I've been feeling pretty nauseous all day every day and I also feel tired. Although I've been knocking out pretty quickly when I hit my pillow, I end up waking up from hot flashes and just feeling uncomfortable. I also have been getting hungry a lot; I can eat a sizable meal and then be hungry again within an hour or two. Other than that, not really any other symptoms. I will be going in for my second beta on Thursday so crossing my fingers on good numbers!
QOTW: No theme yet for the nursery; actually haven't given it much thought just yet.
@Jenn6782 The same still happens to me. I had a big dinner and swear I was STARVING 30 minutes later! Good luck with your second beta tomorrow!
We have made our pregnancy official on social media.

@cmm012 beta numbers are not always a good indication of whether you're having a singleton or multiples. There have been ladies with really high beta who have singleton pregnancy and then ladies with low beta who end up with multiples. The most accurate is still wait for your first ultrasound.
I had my last visit with my re last Wednesday, it was emotional saying bye, they were really awesome, everyone from the front desk girls to the nurses were so excited for us. The us was incredible, our previous one just looked like a little blob so we could not believe when we saw our baby girl moving her arms and her little feet, it really caught us by surprise! Oh and the SCH was gone! We also got a cool tote with goodies: a onesie that says I firm (the name of the clinic) a pregnancy planner, vitamins, pregnancy magazines etc and one of the nurses sneaked in there a sample of Diclegis which has been a life saver. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I go back next week for another ultrasound and the RE says that we should be able to see the heartbeat next time!
My third beta was 4,000 something and the heartbeat ultrasound is scheduled for next week. This is starting to feel more real, but I'm still anxiously waiting for the heartbeat.

2013: BFP #1 - M/C 3/13
2015: Dance break = got healthy
7/2016: IVF #5 = BFP!!!
i have been sick to the point of dehydration so I finally cracked and asked my RE if there was anything she recommended.

LOL.

@cmm012 Welcome and congrats on that BFP!

@NurseTMD85 Your announcement was awesome!!
@jenn6782 It's so nice to see you here! Congratulations!! Can't wait to find out if you and @cmm012 are having 1or 2!
